Chapter 30
Pyro charged in next, with its body igniting as it unleashed a storm of barraging flaming projectiles that rained down like meteors. The embers exploded on impact, setting two stalkers on fire and forcing the pack to scatter. One screamed as its tendrils caught fire, flailing widely.I dropped into the ravine, using the chaos to my possible advantage. A stalker lunged from the msit with tendrils whipping toward my face. I parried with my left dagger, the bone blade slicing through the creature like it was mere paper. Black shadowy mist ooze sprayed and I wasted no time and countered with my right, stabbing into its flank. The dagger absorbed the hit, glowing brighter as I yanked it free and spun to face another. This one was faster, dodging my initial slash and countering with a bite. I blocked with both daggers crossed defensively, the force jarred on my arms as exhaustion began to set in.“Cryo…” I shouted. From the side, Cryo hured a spear like instrument, made of solid ice and se

Soul Manifestation? I had studied it when I was just a frail little boy with nothing to do than read. Heard the old theories and half whispered legends, yet I had never once seen it with my own eyes. And now, a Shadow creature? This was supposed to be impossible, never in my extensive study had I ever seen that a Shadow creature was capable of Soul Manifestation. The ground beneath my feet didn’t warp or twist, but I could see a radiant purple light stretch from within the creature, radiating outward into a shape of what I understood was triangle. It stretched ten meters in every direction as that was the fixed distance that was absolute for Soul Manifestation, and the triangle was the indication for the boundaries.I clenched my jaw. “So, its really true…” I muttered under my breath.Soul Manifestation wasn’t just about attacking. No, it was also a good technique for defense and that made it far more terrifying— you can't beat something that you can't hit. Within this fixed space, t

“For the sake of the future?” I repeated after the system.Mythical class, something I haven't heard of before. By my understanding, It’s a category for individuals that do not fit into the nine known classes.Within the awakened class categories, is the power rank that ranks the individual based on there overrall magical abilities and power, ranking from E-Rank to S-Rank.E rank is the lowest class and S is the highest legendary class. But the system says my abilities comfortably surpassess that of S class and should be trippled to be an SSS Rank class. Its beyond anyone can awaken in this world, almost as if it were impossible.I quickly checked the new stats, excited to see how much stronger I had become.~Strength: 48~~Agility: 41~~Endurance:49~~Intelligence: 53~~Memory: 48~~Arcane Reserve: 3000/3000~~Stat Points Available: 25~With 25 new unallocated points to distribute, I took a moment to think. This time, my decisions were strategic and I needed to balance my physical st

The academy was also buzzing with news of an upcoming assessment, a simulation exercise in a dungeon gate that would test each students survival skills.I was thrilled. This was an opportunity not only to showcase my progress but also to test my limits in another real world teammate dungeon gate scenario.Valeria and Jet were also excited and they decided to team up for the simulation. On the day of the asssessment, the students gathered at the academy’s central plaza, where a massive portal shimmered in the air, casting an otherworldly glow across the area. Each team was instructed to enter the gate and complete various objectives, which included eliminating monsters, rescuing imaginary hostages and retrieving specific artifacts. As we stepped through the portal, I felt the familiar rush of Arcane energy surrounding me. The world we entered was a dense forest filled with towering trees and an eerie silence that hinted at lurking danger. The simulation was designed to resemble an ac

Teams from various classes will compete against each other, this was a fantastic opportunity to gain experience and recognition amongst my peers.“Will there be any rewards?” a random student from within the hall yelled out of proportion.“Indeed. The wining team will receive substantial amount of Urns and rare magical artifacts, along with the chance to train under a top Reaper for a full month,” Wagner replied. We all exchanged excited looks in our table. “We have to enter!” Valeria said enthusiastically.“Absolutely,” I agreed, determination flooding my viens. “This could definitely be a great chance for us to prove ourselves and grow stronger together.”Jet nodded, his competitve side shining through. “Lets show everyone what we are capable of!”“I expect nothing less from you, my estimed students… the tournament will begin in two weeks, trian hard and remember to strategize. You'll need to work together to succeed.”With that the Chancellor left the stage and disappeared behind a

The rules of the tournament were pretty straight forward: Each team having a total of four players, belonging to different awakened classes and ranks. The match takes place on an elevated platform above the huge pit of sand in the arena.Players use controlled, non-lethal abilites to hit opponenets with projectiles aiming to knock them off the platform or even engage in one on one malee combat in aim to knock the oppositions player of the platform to the sand below.Players are eliminated if they fall of the the platform and into the sand. A team wins a round by knocking all opponents out or by holding the advantage when time runs out.If the score is tied after regulation, a one on one sudden death duel decides the winner. Lethal attacks are stictly forbiddeen and foul play such as outside interferance are being penalized.“Please tell me that is not a real sword you have on you there… Zed.” I said to said as the platform we stood on started to rise slowly.Zed flashed me a sly grin

High above the chaos, the grandstands buzzed with excitement. Spectators leaned forward, students and common folk from the city of Cindralock cheered alike for the eight players about to face off. Some whispered about the massive serpent with their voice tangled with awe and confusion, while others shouted encouragements for their favourite team. The air crackled with anticipation, every eye locked on the platform where the fate of the match hung in the balance. In the VIP section, perched at the highest tier of the arena, Chancellor Hans Wagner sat with his arms crossed, his piercing grey eyes fixed on the unfolding battle. His old face, framed by a jaggeredly trimmed beard silver beard, wasn’t hiding any emotion, but his mind turned and tossed with thoughts of the youngling at the center of it all— Levi, the so-called Prince of Cindralock. The Chancellor’s fingers absently stroked his beard as he watched Levi deftly counter Shawn’s aggressive strikes with his movements fluid yet re

Dassai thornhill had a reputation for being the best and the number one in anything that he does, and he always uses any means neccesary to achieve that feat.Even if it would mean intentionally sabotaging someone elses path, so that he alone could shine. The very definition of a narcisist.“You’ve done well in the tournament so far… and in the short amount of time you moved out of your little town, you’ve managed to catch the eye of so many indiviiduals.” Dassai said with a sly, devislish grin.“That I simply cannot allow… I alone was born to be number one, the strongest with no one to coming close to my caliber of talent… I am absolute.”“...For every eyes that glares at you with glory, is one less that dosent look at me.”“Cindralock is filled with talent, but youre a wild card I simply cant let get too far… considering the strange and mysterious talent you possess.”“What do you mean?” I said with calm tone, but still panged with a slight surge of anger. “I wont let you manipulate
Chapter 38
While the rest of the students went into their dormitory, some in retreat, others to get their weapons. I wasted no time and dashed forward, my boots skidding across the wet stone as the nearest Shadow creature lunged. Its claws sliced through the air where I had been a second ago.“Too slow, brat.” I whispered.Ding!~You have activated Space Manipulation skill~~You have activated Divine Thread skill~“Space Manipulation Technique…”“Attract…”Space folded at the tip of my index finger for a brief moment and then I swiftly directed the spacial mass the creatures way. The creature’s arm twisted in on itself, bones or whatever passed for them crunching into a singular point before vanishing entirely into shadowy dust and the Anti-arcane stone dribbled on the floor. “Inventory…”The system’s interface materialized a much more larger screen and I scrolled through the items I had stored away in the spacial rift till I found what I was looking for.Shiioom! The spacial rift opened beside
Chapter 39
The orb of arcane energy drifted ahead of me, cutting through the faint mist that hovered across the courtyard. It pulsed softly as an indication of how far or close we were to its target, each pulse of its bluish-purple light echoed like a heartbeat, tugging me forward with determination. My boots pounded against the damp stone as I followed it.Through the winding campus patchs, the night wind slapped against my face as students and lecturers were running helter skelter to or from shadow creatures. And then, after what it felt lik etwo mintues of running, the chancellor’s quarters came into view. Immediately I set my eyes on it, a creeping chill snaked down my spine.‘No way…’ I muttered to myself. The orb slowed down and the pulsing of its light increased- we were close, flickering near the entrance of the quarters like a cnadle light battered by wind. My chest tightened immediately, if the arcane trail led here, then…“The chancellor, Hans Wagner is in trouble…”Without wasting a
