Chapter 31
Malcolm gnashed his teeth when he heard what Jeremy was saying. Although the young man was right, he would not let him ruin the plan he had worked on for days. It was simply not done. “Are you going to listen to someone who knows absolutely nothing about business?” Malcolm sneered and he pointed a finger at Jeremy. “What do you mean?” Jeremy raised a brow. He didn’t have to know about business before he could smell out a terrible conspiracy. He didn’t like the way Malcolm belittled him. He had graduated from college and he was able to put two and two together. “I am saying that you have no business in speaking with us. This is a family matter and what could you possibly understand? Does your family have such amount of wealth?” Malcolm spat in disgust. He eyed Jeremy before turning his eyes to Ariel. “I don’t think you should take advice from someone who isn’t capable of buying his own outfits by himself.” Malcolm slightly chuckled as
Chapter 32
It was a week after the whole incident and Jeremy had basically refused to go near Ariel or any of her brothers. It was the best possible method he could use in avoiding each and every one of them. This time he had decided to go for something better, he would look for a job to keep himself busy and to avoid wasting time. This was what he had be doing for a week and unfortunately he had not been very lucky with finding jobs. Something told him the McDonald brothers were up to no good and they were desperately trying to ensure that he suffered for what he had done to them. Maybe he just wasn’t cut out for those kind of jobs but there was absolutely nothing he could do about it. “Hey Bella, Is Ariel in the office?” Jeremy spoke into his phone, he stood by the traffic sign and was waiting for when he could cross. He had to know about the location of his fake wife and the name brought a bitter taste to his mouth. “Yeah
Chapter 33
Icy water splashed on Jeremy’s face, causing him to take a sharp intake of breath. His eyes shot open and with every rush of air, pain moved through him. “W-Where am I?” Jeremy mumbled. He could barely see. One of his eyes was swollen and it stung like crazy but he tried to know what was going on. He could remember he was heading to an interview and then something happened but what was it? That was Jeremy’s current predicament. “Stephanie!!” He gasped out loud when he was able to retrace what went wrong. The whole incident. Stephanie and her rotten husband had blocked his path. A string of laughter echoed in front of him and the lady he abhorred. The very one who had made his life a living hell stepped out with a proud smile plastered on her face. “What are you trying to do?’ Jeremy grunted out. He tried to move and that was when he realized that he had been tied to a chair. Both his legs and arms were b
Chapter 34
Naomi dialed the number on her phone for the umpteenth time in a week. “Big Bro, where have you been? Just pick up the phone!” She grumbled into the phone. She would have gone to his mansion but she had no idea where it was. Jeremy had never bothered to tell her. Something unusual had to be going on. Her brother was never the type to ignore her messages or calls without giving a reason. The only time he had done that was when he was in the hospital so she had the hunch that something had definitely happened to him. Naomi’s hand reached deep into her pocket, and she brought out the card that Noah had given to her brother. “Would he know where Jeremy is?” She asked herself. It wasn’t possible, the only person who was tat close to Jeremy was Ariel. “Naomi, where is he?” A strained voice echoed from the bed beside her. “I’m going to look for him mom, I am sure he is doing well.” Naomi lied through her teeth.
Chapter 35
Naomi prepared as early as she could. She didn’t want to miss the car or cause Ariel any more trouble. This was the only chance she had to get close to her brother and she didn’t want anything to ruin it. She had to get it done right. “Jeremy would have some explaining to do.” Naomi muttered as she put on her dress and her pants. She couldn’t help but wonder where he had been and why he took so long to contact. It was unlike him. Her mind was racing with thoughts as she swallowed her breakfast. She would visit her mother later today. A car horn outside alerted her and she nearly choked on her meal. “It’s ten, already?” She exclaimed. The breakfast would wait and she was almost done with it anyways. She took her mind off it and went out the front door. “Hey, I didn’t expect that time would run out so fast.” She tried to speak to the black-clothed man that stood in front of the car.

Chapter 36
“She thinks she can ignore my own brother and go scot free?” Naomi grumbled. The previous day, Ariel had treated her like she was nothing and she was going to ensure that the rich brat would pay for such a mistake. Her brother’s marriage to Ariel had gotten her to the top and she just wanted to act like she did it by herself. Naomi boarded a taxi and handed him a card. “Take me to that company.” Naomi ordered. “But Ma’am, that place is very far. It would be very expensive too.” The taxi man wondered why this young girl would want to go into such a distance. It would cost her a lot. “Don’t worry about that and take me there.” Naomi spoke back. The taxi driver simply nodded. He hoped driving this girl to that place would not cause him any trouble. He had just been released from prison. He was trying to get a decent job and make an honest living. The man didn’t want this to affect his life but since she just wanted
Chapter 37
Naomi smiled when she realized that she had gotten through to Ariel. It seemed that the rich ones truly cared about their reputation and she just proved it. “Thank you. I also want the doctor to continue with my mother's treatment if it's not too much to ask and I promise you that my brother would pay it all." Naomi saw her chance and she didn't let it fly. Ariel simply nodded her head. She was sober. Jeremy had helped her get this seat but she was treating him like he didn't matter. Anyone could threaten her if they realized that Jeremy was no longer around and she didn't want that. “Okay. I'll tell my secretary to talk to you, please call her in as you step out." Ariel smiled at the girl. She was still a little angry at Jeremy for exposing the details of her contract. Little did Ariel know that what Naomi had told her was a simple bluff and she didn't know what truly happened. Naomi bowed in
Chapter 38
Ariel made her way to the police station, her brother walking leisurely by her side. She was determined to get to the bottom of this situation, so her life could finally return to normal. “When was the last time you saw him?" The officer said, sitting behind a desk as he typed into his computer. “I saw him over a week. We got into an argument and he apologized to me, he said he would look for some jobs." Ariel had a sad look on her face, speaking to the officer. She wasn't going to let him see it was her fault. “Can you describe him?" He asked. “Yes," Ariel nodded her head, proceeding to describe the person for them. The police took down every information they gave to him, soberness displayed on his face. This was his job, and he was taking it seriously. “No worries, Madam," The officer said, he gave off the sense of pride as he spoke, “There is no missing person I have not found in my years of
Chapter 39
Ariel abruptly stood up from her chair, the metal bottom scraping the floor. Why has ten million dollars just left her account? Wasn't Jeremy missing? Why did he need ten million? “I can't believe that trash would try to trick me?" Ariel gripped her phone, anger rushing in her blood. She thought Jeremy was spending her money elsewhere, making them think he was in big trouble. Would she believe him again? It was unlikely. “You'd pay back every last cent, Jeremy Collins." Ariel roared in annoyance. Jeremy laid on the cold floor, his consciousness evaporated from his body. His breath came out slowly proving that he was alive. The police department were trying to make breakthrough in finding Jeremy but they had no lead. They did not know were to start from. The villains had left them no clue from the start. A phone rang in the room, and the police officer picked the phone, “Good day, who
Chapter 40
“Hey Ariel, what's up?" Noah's voice sounded the phone, he thought about why she would call him at such a time. “They have found him. He's at the hospital. I'm heading there now." Ariel's voice came through the phone. It was only Noah she trusted to carry along. It wasn't that her other brothers weren't reliable, they were just too busy to take on her problem. Noah sat upright, his hand tightened on the phone, “Are you sure it's him?" He asked. No reply came from the other side of the phone. Ariel was lost in her own thoughts. “I'd just have to see for myself. I find it very convincing they found him." Ariel said. There was nothing else she could do but hope that Jeremy was truly at the city hospital. “In that case, I'll meet you there." Noah answered. He dropped the phone before Ariel would try and stop him. Picking his car key, he rushed out his door. This man has brought a lot of drama into their home
