Chapter 21
“I’ll make him pay. He humiliated me in front of everyone. He must pay,” Frieda said in tears. “We both know how wicked our brother is. But you should have let me handle the killing. You are too soft for this battle,” Aaron said. “But I hate Diego — and his daughter,” Frieda said. “That is why you have to be smart. Always have a backup so you won’t be easily exposed,” Aaron advised. “Okay, so what’s the plan?” Frieda asked. Aaron smiled and whispered in her ear. Diego drove back to the villa and went to Felix’s room, where he saw Jaxon and Georgia struggling to feed Felix. “What is happening?” Diego asked. “She insisted on feeding me, sir.” “He won’t let me feed him,” Felix and Georgia said at the same time. “Okay. No feeding of anyone by anyone — that’s one. And two, Frieda confessed,” Diego said. “Two?”

Frieda almost yelled at him, but she knew she couldn’t possibly do that. She needed to pretend as much as possible. That was the only way she could get what she wanted. Aaron, however, could not help but feel insulted. He couldn’t even believe she had the guts to threaten him. He was going to teach him a lesson, but not now. Very soon, he would know what stuff he was made of. “I’m sorry for what I did to you, Aaron. Trust me when I say I didn’t want things to escalate to that point. I just wanted to teach you a little lesson for speaking to me the way you did. It won’t happen again. After all, we are family,” Frieda said. And Jaxon nodded his head, even though he didn’t believe a word she said. He knew he had to play along with her. “That’s not a problem. No ill feelings. Come on, let’s eat now. I don’t want my wife to come back into this house and complain that I’m not looking handsome,” Jaxon said, and the

“You don’t have to worry. I’m going to relay your message to him,” Felix said, and Aaron nodded his head. At least he didn’t have to face that idiot. “Oh, that’s good. Just tell him Frieda is so sorry, okay? Now, excuse me, I have to get busy with a lot of things,” Aaron said, and walked away from there as fast as he could. He couldn’t stand them all. He was going to make Jaxon pay. This was not the end. Jaxon had certainly not seen the last of him. Jaxon spent the rest of the day going through all the files and getting as many answers as possible from Felix. He even rehearsed the things he would say when he got to the company tomorrow. He had to make sure that everything was perfect. He couldn’t afford to make any mistakes at all. After Diego Greyson introduced him to everyone yesterday, he was sure they must be expecting a lot from him — and he couldn’t disappoint them. No matter what, he needed to make th

Jaxon got to the office and made his way to the chair. He took his seat, and he immediately felt possessed by power. He thought the saying was true — that power was like alcohol; just a little taste could make you drunk. He looked around, smiling. He liked this new life he was living. “Don’t get carried away with all you’re seeing, sir. You will only have this for one year, and that will be it. You are here to do a job, and that should be the most important thing to you right now — nothing else,” Felix said. And Jaxon nodded his head sarcastically. “I don’t know what I might have done in my former life, but you are my nemesis, Felix. Even though I hate saying that, I must admit that I kind of like it. You always make sure to keep me in check so I don’t do anything stupid. And I mean that,” Jaxon said. Felix bowed his head. He liked the fact that Jaxon had finally understood everything that wou
Chapter 25
“Aren’t you going to beg, or do you want me to report you to the police for theft? I can do that. And trust me, it’s going to be your word against mine, you fool,” he said and slapped him on the face. “Please forgive me. Please forgive me,” Jaxon begged. He couldn’t possibly go to jail. He needed to continue working so he could send money home to his family and also scale through school, because that was the only way he could escape from this wretched life. He was going to get a good job and make everyone who had treated him like trash pay for ever looking down on him the way they did. “That’s my boy. Now you’re talking, but I’m not pleased yet. Lick my shoe. That’s the only way I’ll be convinced that you’re truly sorry, and then I can forgive you. And you don’t have to worry at all—if you do what I’m asking, I’m going to buy you lunch for the rest of the week, at least to compensate for the one I threw away,” he said. And

“I know what you’re doing — both of you. You think I’m not going to find out about your nonsense. He’s probably related to you, and that’s the reason why you’re giving him preferential treatment. He even had the guts to give you that chair to take a seat! I’m very sure he even impersonated one of the staff — that’s why he’s behaving like a boss. You should be reported to the management of this company,” he said. And Jaxon scoffed. “Or did he give you some bribe? Is that why you’re behaving like this with him? Get a grip,” he said. Felix was really mad. “Watch your mouth, or I’m going to have you thrown out of this place right now! What in the world is wrong with you?” Felix asked him. Jonas stood up and tugged at Felix’s shirt, pulling him. “I should be asking you that stupid question, you fool! Someone call security right now and have these fools taken out of this place! My unc

Jonas took a good look at Jaxon. Only then did he notice he was putting on the designer shoes he had been dreaming of buying. He had already promised himself that as soon as he got a job at the Greyson Group, he would save most of his salary for several months to be able to purchase those shoes. He couldn’t believe it was the same pair this lowlife was wearing. He was even dressed in expensive suits, looking like some rich man — not the regular Jaxon he knew. He knew in his gut something was wrong, and he didn’t like the feeling he was getting at all. “What is going on here?” The manager came into the hall, frowning. He had heard someone had been causing trouble for the new President, and that could get him into serious trouble. He wasn’t willing to lose his job to some reckless applicant. “Mr. President, I’m sorry about this. I heard someone was causing some trouble for you. I apologize, Mr.

Now that that’s over, it’s time to conduct our interview,” Jaxon said, and everyone took their respective seats, with the HR starting the interview. Some hours later, the interview was done, and Jaxon returned to his office. Later in the evening, Jaxon sat back on his chair feeling tired and with a headache. He never knew being the CEO of a company was this challenging and demanding. But he was handling it well, and he was sure he was going to scale through. After all, it was just one year. “How was my first day at work? I need your honest evaluation, so don’t think of lying to me or making me feel good,” Jaxon said to Felix. He then stood up to put on his jacket, waiting for Felix to respond. Felix walked up to him and helped him with the jacket. “Mr. Jaxon, I want you to know this — if there is one person who will ever tell you the truth, then that person is me. No doubt about that. As for y

“What is going on here? The President would like to have his meal in peace. Who is the person making so much noise?” Felix asked, feeling irritated and making the manager sweat. He was almost peeing in his pants, not knowing what to do next. This was bad for him, and he might get into trouble over this — and that was the last thing he wanted right now. Before the manager could leave to go sort the situation out, Mr. Hampton was already inside the VVIP section with his PA and bodyguard. He looked so arrogant and scary that almost everyone flinched at the sight of him. Jaxon, however, pretended not to notice him, realizing what the problem was. He’s probably a spoiled brat with a rich father who’s angry he’s not the one sitting here in his stead. Jack could see the person seated on the chair, and he got really mad. Not only was this person seated at the most expensive table in the restaurant — h

Dad, I have yet to see the new President of the company. That’s the exact reason why I’m here. So you don’t have to worry about it. I’m going to make sure we get this deal. One more thing, Dad, you have to call the owner of this restaurant right now. There’s this man here — he claims not to know me. And the worst part is, he has already taken the table I was planning to have. That’s the table I want, so I can invite the new President of the Greyson Group,” Jack said. Jaxon heard all that he had said to his father, and he smiled. Who would have thought the same person Jack was coming to look for was the same person he had been satirizing. Jack disconnected the call and made his way back to Jaxon, who was still seated there. “What are you still doing here? Do you think this is a joke? Now listen to me very well — the most influential and richest CEO in this country is coming here to meet me. Tha
