Warren was surprised that Anna had actually gotten angry with him, and so were the others. She rarely took offense and never raised her voice at anybody unless it was absolutely necessary or unless she was seriously pissed off.Warren was a new shareholder, which was how he had gotten his place on the board. He was actually the third-largest shareholder, with five percent of the shares in his possession. However, his shares were still nothing compared to the other two major shareholders, though he did not seem to realize that, as he enjoyed flexing his power. He stood up and bowed politely. "I am sorry, Miss Anna, for mistakenly crossing the line. Please accept the apology of a gentleman."Anna thought he was being insincere, but she still nodded and accepted his apology."I have thought about it, and I believe we should take the risk. Even though it is risky, I still want to proceed, and I am sure Willstark will not do something that would jeopardize their own company." She looked de

"I'm not exactly sure, but I heard they went to the Bahamas Mountain to explore it," Stuart began."Bahamas? Why would they go to such a dangerous place?" He frowned. People like them were very aware of how dangerous the Bahamas Mountain was. The survival rate was close to zero, even for people like them.He had been there once, so he understood the dangers too."I think they just wanted something to brag about. Anyway, I don’t think they went deep into the mountain. I think they encountered something along the way.""Something like what?" he pressed."I'm sorry, but I can't tell you much aside from this. Maybe Zhao could tell you more, if he's willing."Mark leaned back in his seat and didn’t ask anything else. They drove for twenty-five minutes and finally arrived at the burial venue just as it was about to start. He greeted Kingsley’s wife before looking around. Among the few people gathered, he recognized only one person. The man was of average height, average build, and even his

“You think I’ll believe that?” Zhao asked with a smirk.“I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t,” Mark replied. “You overanalyze everything, looking for meaning in things that have none, just to force them to fit your idea of logic. But now isn’t the time to argue. You’ll tell me what you know later. For now, let’s clean this place up.” His tone was firm. The priest and the others had already fled. Only the corpses of the five funeral attendees that where shot and the bodies of the attackers remained.Mark took a lighter from his pocket and set Kingsley's corpse ablaze. Gasoline had already been poured over.“Come on, let’s go. Stuart, call some people to clear this place up.”Both men nodded and followed him. Mark got into Zhao’s SUV, while Stuart followed behind in his own luxurious SUV. They soon arrived at the hotel where Zhao was staying.“Have you made the call?” Mark whispered to Stuart inside the elevator.“Yes. I briefly explained what happened. They’ll take care of the rest,”

"Go ahead and wait for me at a restaurant called Franklin. I have something to take care of," Mark said before immediately leaving.****Zhao waited a few minutes after they had gone before standing up."That bastard. Always acting so mysterious," he muttered, reaching into his pocket for his phone."What!" His eyes widened in shock. It wasn’t there. He frowned. "I'm sure I put it here. I don’t easily misplace things."A bad premonition began to creep over him. "I need to get back to Lucas now." He hurried to the elevator and rushed downstairs. His car was still parked outside the hotel, and with what seemed to be a festival going on in the city, the hotel parking lot was completely full.He went straight to his car, got in, and sped off. Thirty seconds later, the car exploded with a deafening roar.****Mark was having dinner with Stuart at Franklin Restaurant, but his mind was on the system. He had already received his rewards for completing the mission.(Mission Reward: 100 credits

Mark overheard them but completely ignored their chatter. He took out his phone to call the manager to bring him the key to his suite.Unfortunately, the phone was dead."Damn," he muttered under his breath. He walked straight to the reception desk."Hello, can you please help me call your manager?" he asked. The receptionist and her colleagues stared at him in disbelief at what they perceived as outrageous audacity."Excuse me, sir, but you cannot just demand to speak to the manager. If you wish to book a room, tell me, and I will inform you of what is available," the receptionist said."I already have a room. I just need the key," Mark replied. He was telling the truth; the King Suite had been built specially for him."The key? How is it possible that you booked a room and do not have a key? Why don't you call the manager yourself?" she asked mockingly.Mark frowned."Call the manager for me," he said. His voice was now low and dangerous. He was genuinely pissed off.Instinctively,

The crowd murmured in agreement. What the two girls had done was devious and had cost the innocent receptionist her job.The girls looked around, hoping to find someone who would stand up for them, but instead, they saw only contempt on every face. They had no choice but to try pleading with the manager."It is already late, sir; we cannot just leave. Besides, there is a festival, and by the time we reach the next hotel, it might be fully booked. Are you really going to allow two weak girls like us to sleep outside?"Tony ignored their pleas and called security to escort them out. Once the situation was settled, he was about to leave when his phone suddenly rang. He picked up the call, and after seeing the caller ID, his demeanor became respectful even though the person was not physically present."Hello, boss," he spoke first."Do not sack the receptionist," Mark’s voice came through from the other end, and the call ended almost immediately.Tony sighed and looked at the receptionist

"Brothers and sisters, please, can you all calm down?" Warren said as he stood up.Seeing that they obeyed, he nodded and continued. "What I want to say is very simple. Why scare this man away? Isn't this the perfect chance to get rid of these useless shares?" He smirked."Normally, given Sico Technology’s current condition, selling the shares at thirty percent of the original price would be difficult. Now we have found a fool who is ready to buy at not just one hundred, but two hundred percent of the price. So what are we still waiting for?"Silence fell.Everyone glanced at one another and murmured quietly while Warren stood there, smirking. His plan was quite simple: make the man give up on buying the shares and investing in Sico Technology. Warren had his own plans for the company. He had a lab somewhere in Panya that was researching a new type of battery for cars. It was not a groundbreaking discovery, since top companies had already produced such batteries, but there were only a

The two of them walked to the place while chatting, with Anna doing most of the talking. Mark was a good listener, and the chemistry between them was unmistakably special."Ehm, Mark," she said, as if suddenly remembering something."Mmm?""Do you know this guy called Stuart Orlando?" she asked curiously."Mmm. He is a good man and would make a good shareholder in your company," he replied.Anna nodded. She suspected Mark was the one who had convinced Stuart, since no one else would willingly buy their shares at twice the current price."Thank you," she said. They did not need many words to understand one another. After walking for another five minutes, they arrived at a roadside barbecue shop."It is not a five-star place or anything fancy, but the meat is still delicious," she said with a smile.Mark nodded. "I cannot wait to dig into it."She smiled even brighter, glad he did not mind the setting. They went inside, and she called out to the waiter."Mr. Taves, please get us two ser

"Anna, what is wrong?" He appeared in the kitchen almost instantly.Anna's left hand was bleeding, and a knife lay on the floor. Mark understood immediately that she had accidentally cut herself.A first aid box was on the nearby counter. He quickly retrieved it and guided Anna to the living room. He began by cleaning the wound with antiseptic, and after he finished, he bandaged it carefully.Once he had searched through the first aid box, he turned back to her. "There's no paracetamol?""No need; it's just a small cut. It will heal in no time," she said reassuringly.Mark was still worried, but since there was no paracetamol, he could only give up. He carried the first aid box away and returned with a platter of fruits and a new knife."I will cut the fruits for you.""Mmm." She nodded shyly.Mark started by cutting the orange. He gave her one slice and took the others. The two talked a bit more, and then Anna suddenly began shivering. He quickly checked her temperature and realized

Inside a secret lab in the rural area of York City."So, show me the final product," Mark said to the engineer in charge."Here it is, sir." The engineer brought out a battery.Mark took it and examined it carefully."It has all the properties outlined in the blueprint. Every process was clearly laid out, so we only needed to follow your instructions exactly," the engineer explained."Great. And the materials needed for mass production—are they accessible?""According to the material scientist, there is one key material that is difficult to obtain. It isn't expensive; in fact, it's very cheap because it is a type of red stone. It is mostly useless, except to locals who use it as matches for lighting fires," the engineer explained."Yes, he already told me about it. The one at Panya, right?" Mark asked."Yes, that one, sir. The place is a battlefield, and I've heard the fighting has resumed. It will be hard to take anything from there, except illegally.""That’s alright. Sico Technolog
