CHAPTER 101
Shaking her head vehemently, Alicia said in a small, shaky tone, “No, I don’t want to. I came here with Darren. I’m not leaving him to go meet some stranger. Tell your boss I am not interested.”The confident smile on the man’s face vanished almost instantly. The faint amusement drained away as his scarred face darkened, hardening into something cold and unpleasant.“Are you kidding me?” he scoffed. “Don’t tell me you’re throwing away a golden opportunity because of this…” He paused deliberately, then glared disdainfully at Darren before adding with contempt, “Good-for-nothing errand dude.”Scarface stared at her in open disbelief, as though she had just insulted him personally. “What kind of girl are you?” he demanded. “Girls nowadays want to be with wealthy guys. Don’t you know that?” He planted both hands firmly on the table and leaned toward her, invading her space. His voice dropped low and icy. “Do you realize that no woman says no to my boss, right? He is used to getting exactl
CHAPTER 102
Scarface staggered backward after issuing the threat, he massaged his arm to make sure it wasn’t broken. His breathing was uneven, his face paled; a mixture of pain and anger.Without another word, he turned sharply and made his way back toward the corner of the restaurant where his boss was seated. The young man was busy having a good time with the two ladies unknown to what had happened. All the customers who knew who Scarface was continued to look at Darren and Alicia in awe. A wave of murmur flooded in.Meanwhile, Alicia was visibly trembling.“Darren…” she whispered urgently, her voice uneven. “You shouldn’t have done that.”Darren on the other hand remained calmed. His expression was the complete opposite of Alicia.“But he was being disrespectful towards you. That will teach him a lesson. Next time he will avoid being immodest towards ladies”.“But still, you shouldn’t have done that” she continued, her voice barely audible, “The Trumps are more powerful than you can imagine. V
CHAPTER 103
Scarface let out a deafening scream as he crashed to the ground, clutching his shattered arm. His face twisted violently, contorted by raw agony and horror as pain ripped through him.Jose watched with his jaw hanging open. He was too horrified to utter a single word. The other customers who had been observing the scene now stared with wide, unblinking eyes. Strangely, no security stepped in. The reason was clear—no one wanted to get involved with the Trump family’s heir’s affairs, not even the restaurant manager.Alicia tensed, her breath catching. “Darren… you…” That was all she managed to say before fear choked her words.Darren, on the other hand, sat back down quietly, a slight frown resting on his face, as though he were not the one responsible for the chaos now suffocating the room.Scarface rolled onto his side, then dropped fully to the floor and crawled toward his boss. “Ouch—my arm!” he wailed. “Boss, he broke my arm! It hurts bad!” His voice cracked with pain and humiliati
CHAPTER 104
Kai spoke into the phone for a few minutes and slowly lowered it after the call ended. His hand was trembling so badly that he had to clench his fingers into a fist to steady it. Although he wasn’t the one responsible for his young master’s condition, he knew he was going to answer for it too as he was tasked with the responsibility of protecting him.Sweat dripped down the side of his face, soaking into the collar of his shirt. He lifted his head and stared straight at Darren, hatred naked in his eyes.“You’re finished,” Kai said hoarsely. “You’re completely finished.”Darren didn’t even look at him. He was still seated calmly, one arm resting on the table, the other loosely draped over the back of his chair. His nonchalant attitude made Kai’s blood boil. “My young master’s father is on his way. Master Gerald Trump himself. Once he gets here… he will skin you alive. You will regret the day you came into this damn world!”Hearing him say Mr. Trump was on his way, the whole restaurant
CHAPTER 105
The temperature in the restaurant seemed to drop the moment the figure stepped inside Gerald Trump in flesh and blood, stood at the entrance like an executioner walking into a condemned hall. He wore an expression that would scare the wits out of the devil himself. George Trump was a man in his early sixties with aged tattoos running up his neck. His facial beards which were at his younger age kept to intimidate his victims was now streaked with silver strands. A look at him and one could tell he was a badass in his younger age. But still even at this age, he still look dreadful. As the man stepped in, behind him trailed fifteen to twenty men. They were rough, broad-shouldered, and all had heinous look in their eyes. Their gazes were cold, vacant, the kind that belonged to men who didn’t hesitate before breaking bones—or ending lives. Some of them had violent weapons —hammers, knives, baseball bats just mention it. Some without weapons cracked their knuckles slowly, showing what th
CHAPTER 106
Gerald’s lips slowly curled into a strange smile.“A delivery boy?” he repeated softly, as though tasting the words. Then he chuckled—a low, dark sound that sent chills down Alicia’s spine. He turned to face his thugs and asked in a surprised tone, “So you’re telling me… a delivery boy had the audacity to beat my son and talk back to me like this?”The rough looking men exploded in laughter as if their boss had just said something funny.Gerald shook his head with mock disbelief. Then he turned fully to face Darren, his smile widened, but there was no warmth in it. Only malice.“Oh boy…” Gerald muttered, pacing slowly in front of Darren. “You’re in so much trouble, kid.”His boots stopped directly in front of Darren’s chair.“I raised Jose with my own hands,” he said clenching his fist “Since the day he was born, no one has ever touched him. Not even his teachers. Not his peer. Not even a stray dog.”His eyes narrowed dangerously as he went on, “No one has ever raised their voice at h

“Hahaha” Jose laughed. The laugh came out hoarse and broken because of his injured mouth, but the mockery in it was clear. He wiped the blood from his lips and looked at Darren with pure hatred.“What are you going to do?” he sneered. “Slap me again?”He slowly stood up, using the table for support. His eyes moved around the restaurant, toward the line of armed men behind his father. A crooked smile spread across his bruised face.“Look around you, delivery boy,” he said proudly. “My dad is here. His men are here. Do you really think you can do anything to me now?”He shook his head deliberately, “No way!” An evil smile appeared as he said with a smug smile, “Like I told you earlier; I always get what I want”Jose stepped closer to Alicia, his gaze burning.“Do you know what I am going to do?,” He whispered. “I am going to kill you and take your girl. People like us get whatever we want. We always do. And there are no consequences.”He said and tried to grab her by her waist. But Alic
CHAPTER 108
For one straight minute, Gerald and his son forgot to breathe. No one moved. No one spoke. Even the Gerald’s thugs who looked like they had never known fear— stood stiff, their eyes darting between Darren, the butler, and the trembling father-son duo.Gerald stared at the old man like he was looking at a stranger.“You’ve lost your mind,” he snapped, finally finding words. “Do you know what you’re saying?” He asked impudently. The butler’s devastation grew. He ran a hand through his head frustratingly, “Master Gerald, I am begging you. You do not understand what you have done. Beg for his forgiveness so that your father will accept you back into the family”.“Enough!” Gerald roared. “Over my dead body will apologize to anyone to speak less of this piece of trash!”The mere thought of begging Darren for forgiveness made Gerald’s blood boil.He eyed Jacob suspiciously, “My father loves me so much and I am his best son. My son Jose is his best grandson, that is why he crowned him as his
CHAPTER 109
The question hung in the air like a death sentence.Alicia stared at Darren as if he were looking at a complete stranger. Her brows were tightly knitted, her lips slightly parted, and her chest rose and fell too fast, betraying the storm raging inside her.“Answer me, Darren.” Her voice was low, trembling, yet stubbornly firm. “Who exactly are you?”Her eyes locked onto his, silently begging for the truth. For a long moment, Darren went deaf and dumb. Not because he could not hear her… but because he truly did not know what to say. What was he supposed to say?Alicia had witnessed everything with her own eyes. There was no brushing this off. No easy lie that could erase what had just happened. He tilted his head slightly and forced out an awkward smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “Come on, Alicia. What do you mean by who exactly am I?” he said lightly, trying to sound casual. “Am I not the same Darren Wayne you know?”She shook her head vehemently, strands of her hair swaying with the
CHAPTER 110
Two days later, it was Monday and Darren returned to school. Under the hot afternoon, the students were stressing their brains out with a lecture. Since the exams were only a few days ago; good lecturers that hate to see their students fail were having revision classes with their students. Right now, Darren was in one.The classroom buzzed with low voices, pages flipping, chairs scraping against the floor. Darren leaned back in his seat, rubbing his eyes as the lecturer packed his books.“Alright, that will be all for today,” the man said. “Exams are in seven days. Use your time wisely.”A few students groaned. Others sighed with relief. This very lecturer was in love with his job. He always overstays his time making sure the students completely understood what he was teaching before leaving the class. The lecture ended up lasting over three hours instead of the initial planned one hour. At the end of the lecture, the students were exhausted. Some were hurriedly leaving the class to
