“Wake up.” Sylus opened his eyes, darting around to see if he would get a hint of his location, but there was nothing there. It was desolate, felt like he was falling but not reaching a particular point. “Where am I?” Sylus muttered, pulling himself up. His eyes still darting around, he soon got a glimpse of someone. It was his doppleganger; he seemed to have been watching Sylus as he slumbered. “There is a word for someone who watches people sleep, and it would seem that you fit that category.” He said before turning to see if there was going to be an opening for him to walk out, but he didnt see anything. “If you are looking for a way out of here, then save it. You aren't dead, you are only sleeping. This is a landscape within your subconscious,” the doppleganger explained, his voice was still unfazed and cold. “Here, you are neither asleep nor awake. You can use it as a training ground, but it is mainly a place of rest. It makes it easier for your wounds to heal.” Sylus was

The person walked in, his eyes darting around the room as he slowly made his way close to Sylus. “Who are you?” Sylus asked, his eyes on the man who was standing right in front of him. He couldn't tell much, but he felt the aura coming from the man, and it was clear that something was about to happen. The man paused, looking at Sylus, his gaze sharp like a predator trying to intimidate his prey. There was no sign of weakness from the man; it was an unshakable authority. “Freya?!” Sylus called out, trying to get up, but he didn't get far. A force, like a burst of gravity, slammed him back on the mattress. “Your sister is outside,” the man said, his tone calm but carved from steel. “She’s speaking with my men. If I were you, I wouldn't move. Things are already tense enough.” Sylus calmed down, breathing slowly. He could find ounces of truth in those words. One wrong motion, and the room would end up turning into another battlefield. “I’m not here to hurt you,” the man continued,

Ryan opened the door for Sylus, following him closely as they walked into the building. They were being watched as they entered the deeper part of the building. Ryan was leading Sylus to a part of the building marked "restricted to non-personnel or high-ranking officials." Standing down the hall was a lady. She had long blue hair, freckles on her face, and a huge goofy glass that made her stand out like a sore thumb. “Hello there,” she smiled at Sylus, then turned to Ryan. “What do we have here?” “I don’t know,” Ryan spat as he pushed Sylus forward, his countenance still unwelcoming. “I was hoping you would help us find out.” Sylus turned to glare at Ryan. He didn't like him one bit, and it was bound to get worse. “Well,” the lady noticed the tensed air around the two and knew it would be for the best if she stood between them. “My name is Ellara Stark. I am the Bureau’s Sifter.” The lady smiled at Sylus. She was still surprised to see Ryan bringing in someone, and from the way

Sylus opened his eyes, and he was inside his subconscious landscape. He let out a sigh, knowing that he must have been knocked out when Ellara started whatever it was Ryan had her do. He walked out of the landscape, his eyes darting around as he tried to find his doppleganger. “If you are going to be popping here every day, then I think it isn't going to be the best place for me to be hanging out.” A voice rang out from above. Sylus looked up to see his doppelganger hovering over him with a strange look on its face. “It's not like I had a choice,” Sylus shrugged his shoulder. He then looked down as he slowly sat down. He stared into the distance, and he wasnt sure what had happened after his eyes closed. “I wonder if that telepath was able to get something out of my head,” Sylus said, ruffling his hair, trying to see if there was going to be a chance for him to get any memory of what happened when he was in the seat. “A telepath?” The doppleganger asked, leaning closer to Sylus

“Now that is unprecedented,” Luke raised a brow. He knew that he had not met with Sylus before, yet he was familiar with his name.“I didn't think you would know who I am, now what else do you know ?” Luke tilted his head to look at Sylus as he slowly got out of bed to sit correctly. Sylus swallowed. He knew that there was no way for him to explain how he already knew Luke’s name, and there were going to be more questions because the way things would escalate wouldn't look nice. But almost immediately, an idea came to him, and he was clear about how he would handle the situation. “I hear it from my little sister Freya a lot, and you said that you were the chairman, so I didn't need to let you say your name out.” Sylus was staring at Luke, knowing that there was a good chance that he wasn't going to be able to get him to back down. Luke stared at him. There was something about Sylus that intrigued him, and it wasn't his sharp mind or his looks. “You aren't going to be like all t

He stretched his hand, looking at Sylus with the smile still on. “Together, maybe I might see if you really like your younger sister, or maybe you are stronger. So what do you say?” Sylus was looking at his hand. He knew it was the only shot he would have to make sure that there wasn't going to be a target on his back. He shook Luke’s hand, and the smile on his face warmed everything. “I trust you.” Sylus said with everything in his heart, knowing he was dealing with someone who would clearly be one of his greatest allies, according to the doppelganger. Luke smiled. Suddenly, they weren't in the dimension again, and now they were back in the real world. “I will see you on Thursday. I will send the file on the warrior you will be paired with to your email, so I would like you to learn everything about him as soon as you can, so we can get something going. And for now, we told him you are a D-ranked, so there wouldn't be much trouble.” Luke walked to the door and opened it. “Now,

Back at the house, Sylus told Freya everything she needed to know. From the way he had activated some kind of latent power locked within him.Freya knew her brother wasnt one to make up a story like that, and for him to say that he didnt know how he got the powers, but the only thing he had been getting were flashes of it, and from the looks of things, it had been hard for him to control the way it kept coming out.“So it isn't light-based?” she asked, her memory of him using a power that looked like a bright light to protect her from the monster years ago.“No,” Sylus shook his head slowly. He looked at the tattoo on his hand, sensing that more surprises awaited him.“For now, I don't have the slightest idea what kind of power it is, but if it were a fragment of light, then we would have been able to know.”Sylus was staring at his hand, knowing that there wasn't a thing he could tell anyone about the powers growing within him.Freya didnt repeat anything about the power. It

“It can't be…” Kiva stood there, his eyes still trying to see if what was right in front of him was actually the real deal or if he dealing with something that would be the end of him if he made the wrong choice there and then. Jiron looked to the side, and he saw Rhys standing there with his blade in his hand, staring at him as he was fighting the Admiral. “I thought you would find a way to make sure that there isn't going to be a way for him to beat you down, he isnt going to let you live…” Rhys was staring at the man, and he was trying to get his head together, knowing that they were going to be dealing with something deeper than everything. “I didn't know that there was going to be a chance that Kiva would hit me down…” Jiron pushed himself up, his eyes on Kiva as he was getting ready to attack. “I wanted to make sure that nothing was going to make him get the hit on me, I was sure that there wasn't going to be a chance that he would be able to…” “I told you to be able to

Rhys wasn't there to help Jiron at first; he had been trying to find something that would lead him to the mystery person who was behind the strikes at the mansion. Saint told him that Jiron was trying to make sure they would find out more about the Admirals, so no one would have the hit on them. “I don't know how to say this, but I feel like there is something else we aren't seeing, and from what I can tell, it is something that not even the man can explain.” Saint was telling Rhys what they were going to be expecting and how it wasn't going to be something that anyone would want to be dealing with. He knew that the Admirals were only pawns in the bigger picture; the likes of Marcus and Loo were just fodder compared to what they were dealing with, and they were not going to be the least of their problems. Rhys stood there as he looked to the side, knowing that there was something that was about to happen, and he was going to be dealing with it. ‘Someone else is here…’ He though

Saint landed right beside Jiron, standing up, he looked at the men in front of them, knowing it was about to be a fight none of them would forget. Loo had a strange feeling about the man he was looking at, knowing they were dealing with something that didn't feel normal, and he was trying to make sure of it. Staring at Saint he could feel the immense energy coming from the man and he was sure that there wasn't a way that they would be able to explain it. “What may you be?” He asked, staring at the man in front of him knowing that it wasn't something normal going to come from him. Kiva could tell that they were staring at someone in the same range as the man who came with Jiron. ‘This man, his energy is low but I can tell that there isn't a thing about him that is in any way normal. He has the presence of a deity and I am looking him in the eye…’ Saint was smiling looking at them, he slowly took his stance knowing that there wasn't going to be a fun way to take them down. “I tak
