‘He dares to come here?’ Eric thought, straightening instinctively as Regan stepped into the room. Every muscle in his body tensed, one eye narrowed in controlled anger.Regan froze for a moment, clearly surprised to see him alive. “So… it’s true,” he said, his voice low, almost incredulous. “I heard you survived. I had to see for myself. Because… there’s no way you could have.”Eric’s teeth clenched, anger coiling in his chest, but he forced himself to look away, refusing to give Regan the satisfaction of a reaction.Regan’s face twitched with barely restrained anger. He raised a hand and pointed directly at Eric.“You… you are supposed to be dead,” he spat.Eric let out a short scoff and met Regan’s gaze with a cold and blunt expression.“Really?” he said flatly. “As you can clearly see, Regan, I’m very much alive.”Regan tilted his head, as if weighing something, before scoffing in realization and nodding slowly. “Ah… I see,” he murmured. “So you do not have amnesia like you cla

Corrective measures.Your heart will stop. For some reason, the phrase did not make any sense to Eric but he was not stupid enough to test it. He pushed himself off the bed and walked toward the window, resting his hand against the glass as he looked down at the hospital building below. A daily quest. That meant twenty-four hours. And the day was already slipping away.Nothing in his life had ever come easily for him. Not money. Not safety. Not even survival. He had always been forced to take the longest route, the hardest one.Getting stronger would be no different.‘Others are born with talent,’ he thought.‘I have to earn everything.’〈…〉He lifted his head slightly. “Huh. Were you about to say something?”No response.Eric nodded to himself and turned away from the window.‘Fine.’“It’s no big deal,” he muttered, drawing in a steady breath. He shrugged off his black track jacket. “I’m actually pretty fired up for this.”Then he looked down. And froze.Six matte-black bands circl

Two weeks later…Eric was finally leaving the hospital While he did, all eyes were on him, and whispered followed. The female staff openly stared, some of them failing to hide their reactions as he walked past.“Was that really the man they brought in two weeks ago?” one nurse murmured from her station, eyes trailing after him.“He’s been constantly exercising every single day,” another whispered back. “I guess hard work really pays off.”“He’s taller now too… broader shoulders, muscle definition,” a third added softly. “And that eye patch just makes him look even more handsome…”A blonde nurse who had been quietly watching suddenly straightened and hurried after him toward the exit.“Wait. Wait, Mr. Vale!”Eric stopped and turned, his brow lifting slightly in curiosity.“Um… you’re leaving already?” she asked, her voice shy, hands clasped together.Eric blinked at her. “Have I… not been discharged?”Her eyes widened, and she shook her head quickly. “N no. You have. You’re discharged

At Silver Guild, the Guildmaster, Lorian Hale, stood before the floor-to-ceiling window of his office, sunlight spilling over the city like it had been placed there just for him. His medium length white hair was perfectly styled, skin pale and flawless, wearing a tailored white suit with a long white cloak draped over his shoulders that looked like it was woven for kings.“Here, in Crown City,” he said, voice smooth and full of pride, “I am known as the strongest Hunter alive. Under my command, every Hunter in this guild matches my strength. Three years running, we’ve claimed the top spot in the Hunter competition…”A sigh floated behind him. Nadia, the young blonde lady, stayed silent, knowing better than to interrupt when Lorian indulged in these self-adoring moments. Then he laughed, spreading his hands. “Jarvis… always second. Always chasing me. Hahaha! It’s almost laughable how predictable he is.” His eyes glittered as he turned to her, a grin curving over his sharp features.“A

Eric stood in front of his door, paused, then instead of knocking, he slowly raised the key.The air in front of him rippled.A brown door formed where his own should have been, and his breath slowed.‘This is it,’ he thought. Then he pushed the key into the lock and turned it.The moment the door opened, a wave of cold air rushed out, brushing across his face and sinking straight into his skin.Eric frowned slightly and stepped forward.Stone met his foot and as he looked up, he froze.A cavern stretched endlessly before him, wide and deep, the ceiling rising far above his head until it disappeared into darkness.Rough stone walls curved naturally, while soft blue light seeped from crystals embedded deep within the rockTheir glow was gentle and steady, bright enough to illuminate the cavern without straining his eyes.“Whoa… this dungeon is huge,” he muttered. He turned back instinctively and saw the door was gone.〈…〉Eric cleared his throat, forcing his nerves down“You know,” he

Eric groaned as he forced himself upright, his body trembling. His leg burned, his ribs screamed, and every joint felt like it had been torn apart and forced back together. Then the sensation vanished all at once〈Pain Nullification Active〉Eric exhaled slowly, rolling his shoulders, testing his limbs“…Damn it,” he muttered, irritation seeping into his voice. “I seriously need more training to avoid getting thrown like that.”He leaned against the cavern wall, eye scanning the shadows. Something massive was here. He could feel it, the pressure, feel the weight of it, but he couldn’t see a thing.“Oracle…” Eric murmured, his voice low. “What am I even facing?”〈Threat Identified〉〈Name: Abyssal Spine Tyrant〉〈Classification: C-Rank Elite Monster〉Eric tilted his head back and let out a humorless breath.“A C-Rank Elite Monster,” he repeated. “Right. Sure.”His jaw tightened.“I’m E-Rank, and bare-handed. You realize that, right?”He dragged a hand down his face, forcing a shaky laugh

Think.Think.What does it do?The spikes are its strength. Tail hits everywhere. Shoulder spines… tail… neck junction… maybe…〈Oracle: Probability of hitting neck junction if using spike diversion: 63%〉Eric’s eye widened.“Spike diversion?” he whispered. He scanned the cavern quickly. There were loose rocks, jagged debris scattered everywhere. Then his instinct screamed. With a gasp, he instinctively dropped low as the tail swept through the space above him, the pressure alone making his skin prickle. He rolled under it and his fingers closed around a rough stone without thinking.‘If I throw this and force a reaction, maybe I can predict its movement… then… strike the neck junction.’He hurled the rock and the Tyrant flinched, its outline flickering as a shadow of movement betrayed its position.〈Oracle: Probability of Neck Junction Strike: 79%〉However, the tail whipped out almost instantly, catching Eric off guard. He rolled hard, gravel scratching his palms, and the tail smashe

Two more monsters to go.Eric steadied his breathing as the thought settled in his mind. He could feel it now that there were more than three monsters deep within the cavern. And he was not going to let another monster ambush him the way the Tyrant did to avoid fighting something way above his rank. With his active camouflage, he advanced deeper into the cavern. Each step was careful, and controlled, his gaze constantly sweeping the shadows, listening for even the faintest sound.‘Wait… I’m invisible,’ he thought‘They shouldn’t be able to see me’The thought barely reassured him‘Or could they?’He let out a deep breath, forcing his nerves to settle. “I can do this,” he muttered under his breathAs he moved, his eyes caught the glow of several mana crystals embedded along the cavern walls. Some were small, others thick and branching like veins of light running through stoneOne by one, he imposed a lock on them.According to Oracle, the crystals could be refined, forged, turned into

The air changed as Eric stepped deeper into the cavern. The stone walls narrowed, threads clinging to them like veins. They stretched from floor to ceiling, layered thick enough to dull the sound of his footsteps. He stopped.‘Spider,’ he thought immediately.〈Threat Identified〉〈Name: Graveweave Arachnid〉〈Classification: D-Rank Normal Monster〉Eric didn't move and his invisibility stayed active, his mana flowing in a steady, controlled stream. Then he felt it.A faint vibration ran through the thread beneath his boot. His heart skipped. It sensed that.〈Warning〉〈Thread vibration detected〉〈Enemy possesses spatial awareness〉The air shifted.A massive shape descended silently from the ceiling, eight long legs unfolding as it landed without a sound. Its body was the size of a small car, black and rough like hardened bark, abdomen leaking threads endlessly that stretched across the cavern like a webbed domain.Eric swallowed.‘That thing controls the whole area.’The spider’s head tw
