CHAPTER 11 - DECEPTION
AIDEN'S POV; my father's condition only worsened, by the day, I usually went to see him few times before, today I decided to go see him, putting on my shirt, I looked myself one more time in the mirror, before moving towards my door, just then he appeared “ why did you keep me waiting” I asked still backing my most trusted purn and the only key I had left to get Dravon down “your Highness I'm so sorry, something came up, it was urgent so I had to attend to it” he said, as I turned to face him. “The reason I called you here is that I want you to do everything, within your power to get to Dravon and then return with word to me of his whereabouts. “ But your Highness, I do not know his wherea_” “ Shhh! “ I said cutting him off as I walked around him in circles “don't you remember what I promised” his eyes glowed for a second and I smirked at his reaction. “Think about it, time is running out” I said as I walked towards my father's chambers. I left my room heading for my father's
CHAPTER 12 - FORBIDDEN YEARNING
Hazel’s POVMorwenna’s house had never felt so quiet.I sat by the narrow window, my knees drawn to my chest, watching the forest sway under the weight of dusk. The trees moved gently, whispering secrets to one another, but I barely heard them. My mind was far too loud. Thoughts crashed into each other without rest, each one circling back to the same person.Dravon.I wondered what he was doing at the shop. Whether the villagers stared at him longer than they should. Whether Aiden’s men had begun to notice the way he kept to himself. Each thought tightened something deep in my stomach.I had never waited for someone like this before. Never felt my body react to a single name, a single memory. Never known this aching pull that refused to let me rest. And now there was something else. Something new growing in my chest. Warm. Heavy. Unfamiliar.I decided to bathe early, hoping sleep would come easier tonight. I rose and walked toward the bathing room, letting the quiet wrap around me. Wh
CHAPTER 13 - A KINGDOM IN THE HANDS OF A TRAITOR
AIDEN'S POV:The soft morning breeze cooled my skin as I stood alone in the palace garden, inhaling the scent of roses and lavender. My mind wasn't here; it was somewhere else. I had sent guards out, and up until now, nothing had been heard. I could feel the inferno growing within me, making me burn internally like hell. I knew I would lose control soon, and that would be bad news for both realms.“Your Highness,” one of my personal guards called, bowing. “The elders from the human realm are here. They say you summoned them,” he added.“Get them settled in. I will be with them shortly,” I said as he turned to leave immediately. I suspected that Dravon and the human girl were hiding in the human realm, and since neither of us was allowed to enter the other realm without permission, I had to summon them to conduct a search party. Both realms were in for trouble if they weren’t found, as the inferno had started to take over my blood and I could feel the fire in my veins.Soon I decided t
CHAPTER 14 - A KISS FOR A CURSE
[HAZEL POV]Morwenna was to travel that evening to get some rare herbs for a delivery, so she had to travel to a faraway clan. I wasn't happy about it because she had become like family to me.“Hazel, is anything wrong?” she asked politely.“No, it’s fine,” I said, smiling widely. But for some reason, I felt a bit anxious that she was leaving. Then she encouraged me that she would be back soon and that I had Dravon by my side.Dravon had been avoiding me since the night we almost kissed. He barely even looked at or spoke to me, and I also avoided much contact with him since I had acted shamelessly by leaning in for him to kiss me. I bit my lip at the thought of it. Now that Morwenna was leaving for some days, I didn’t know how I was going to be staying alone with him.“Bay leaves, maraconna, bitmus ………” she murmured as she wrote the list down on paper.I admired Morwenna so much for her vast knowledge of herbs, despite the fact that she had little or no training. “The gods always teac

CHAPTER 15 - A KISS FOR A CURSE 2
Hazel’s POVI woke to the sound of a growl tearing through the room.My eyes flew open as fear slammed into me from within. I stared around in shock, my breath catching when the scent of smoke and something darker, hit my nostrils. The temperature in the room had risen drastically, heat pressing in from every side as if the walls were burning. Then I turned my head.Dravon.His hands were pressed hard against his chest, fingers digging into his skin as if he was trying to hold himself together. His head was thrown back, teeth clenched as another broken groan ripped from his throat. His body shook violently, as though something inside him was clawing to tear its way out.“Dravon,” I whispered. He didn’t answer. The air felt thick. Heavy. Too hot to breathe. My skin prickled as if I had stepped too close to open flame. Slowly, carefully, I swung my legs off the bed and stood. My eyes never left him. That was when I saw it.His veins were glowing. At first, I thought it was a trick of th
CHAPTER 16 - WANTED LOVER'S
AIDEN’S POV] “Your majesty the spies you sent to Aldridge have returned and they have some news for you” Zarin said as he came to stand beside me in the royal fortress. I followed him to meet the two men I had sent to spy on the human realm. “Your majesty” they greeted as they bowed deeply. “What is happening in Aldridge, did my words reach the king?” I asked. “Yes your majesty the king of the human realm has sent word out to the villagers and has made a decree that anyone who can find them will be given a huge mouth watering prize. He has also sent out banners of them to be posted in every nook and cranny of the village and from the look of things the villagers would not back down until they find him since the offer is huge.” A smile made its way to my face as the guards stared at me, their faces showing no expression. “Send provisions to my men in the field and also tell them they should not fail to inform me if anything comes up, perhaps if they find any clue of my traitor bro
CHAPTER 17 - THE ANTIDOTE
Hazel POV]“What?” I asked, heart pounding. “What is it?”She released my hands as if they had suddenly become too heavy to hold. She stared at them, then at me, her face pale.“Oh no,” she whispered. I stared at her in shock, she had just returned and now she was acting weird.“What?” Panic crept into my voice. “Morwenna, what did you see?”She looked around, as if checking whether anyone else was close enough to overhear. Then she leaned in, lowering her voice.“You,” she said, swallowing hard, “are not just immune to the curse.”My chest tightened. “Then what am I?”Her eyes met mine, dark and filled with something close to fear.“You are the antidote.”The word landed like a blow.“The antidote?” I asked. She nodded slowly. “Your presence doesn’t just calm the inferno. It neutralizes it. The curse recognizes you as its opposite.”I shook my head. “That doesn’t make sense. I’m no one. I don’t have powers. I don’t—”“Do not say that,” she snapped, sharper than I had ever heard her.
CHAPTER 18 - STALKER
DRAVON’S POVI woke up to the chirping of birds outside my window. The morning light streamed in through the thin curtains, forcing my eyes open as I groaned softly. For two days now, I had been living in an inn not too far from where I worked. The unfamiliar room felt cold and empty, nothing like Morwenna’s house.I sat up quickly and headed for the bathroom. As the water poured over my skin, my thoughts drifted, as they always did, to Hazel.I knew she would be fine. She was in the safe hands of Morwenna. Still, the worry refused to leave me. It sat heavy in my chest, tightening every time I imagined her alone, confused, wondering why I had stayed away. The truth was simple and cruel. I was afraid.Ever since she kissed me that night, something inside me had shifted. The inferno had responded to her touch, had bowed to it. But what if it had been a coincidence What if next time I lost control What if I hurt herThat thought alone was enough to keep me away.I dressed quickly and mad
CHAPTER 19 - HIDDEN LETTER WITH A VISION
MORWENNA’S POV I sat in my sacred room with my legs folded and my eyes closed. The scent of incense filled the air, thick and heavy, clouding my senses. Slowly, I began to whisper words no one else knew. Spells. I had memorized many spells from my spell book. The spell book. The same one the forest had given me years ago. Somehow, I had understood how to use it without anyone teaching me. I knew I was powerful. But I had hidden my scent for many years to avoid someone far more dangerous than anyone could imagine. Seraphine. If she knew I was alive, she would come for me. And if she knew that I was protecting Dravon and Hazel, the consequences would be far worse. I knew that without doubt. As I spoke the final words of the spell, my body jerked forward violently. Pain surged through me as my whole body shook. Then the visions came. They crashed into me all at once. I saw a door deep in the woods. I saw fire. Burning clans. Burning villages. In both realms. I
