Chapter 31 Synthetic Attack
"Synchronization status! Give me exact numbers!"James yelled over the chaos in the Nexus Tower control center. His hands flew across the virtual keyboard, trying to put out the digital fire consuming their defense systems. Around him, dozens of other technicians were breaking out in cold sweats, their faces lit by the flashing red glow of non-stop warning screens."The Gilded system in the Southeast Asia sector is breached, sir! Our defense protocols aren't responding!" shouted Jenny, Nexus's lead technical assistant. Her eyes widened as she stared at the plummeting graphs."Kaelen! He really did it," James hissed.Suddenly, all the screens in the control center began to shake. The image of the Nexus Tower on the global map shifted abruptly, overlapping with sharp, purple code lines. An ear-splitting static poured from the loudspeakers, slowly transforming into a very calm baritone voice."Do you feel abandoned?"Kaelen's face appeared on the main screen, dominating the entire room.
Chapter 32 The Operator's Distorted Truth
"Where are we now?"Axel Steele wiped residual blood from his temple. He stood in the middle of a room that had no walls. White light poured from the floor, creating the illusion that they were floating in an endless data cloud. In front of them, a geometric console floated serenely, radiating a blue glow in a rhythm resembling a heartbeat."The central terminal," Zara Blaze responded. Her breath was still ragged. Her fingers trembled as she tried to touch the automatically appearing holographic interface. "Our ship ... The Echo ... is held in the outer layer. We were thrown in here when the transmission peaked.""Look at that, Zara." Axel pointed to the center of the room. The air in front of them suddenly distorted. Particles of light gathered, forming a giant, unstable silhouette. The figure didn't have a distinct face, only a light mask that continuously shifted shape, mimicking a human profile but on a terrifying scale."Welcome, Iteration Twe
Chapter 33 Primordial Rift
The wave of despair hit Axel like a giant warhammer. His vision fragmented, leaving behind painful memories, his missing sister, the failure he hid beneath his golden armor. The shadow gripped his throat, pulling him into a cold void."Axel! Break the synchronization! Now!"Zara's voice cut through the black fog. Axel felt a sharp electric jolt in his spine. A white light exploded, blinding everything. A second later, overwhelming nausea hit him as gravity roughly pulled his body back down.Brak!Axel fell heavily onto the cold metal floor. The smell of ozone and smoke filled his senses. He gasped for air, his lungs feeling as if they had just been forcefully pumped with dust-filled air."Where ... where are we?" Axel whispered, his voice hoarse."The Nexus Tower's secret hangar," Zara replied. She knelt beside Axel, her hands trembling as she checked the pulse on his neck. "The Operator's emergency transmission managed to pull us out just b
Chapter 34 The Gilded Nexus Ship
The voice was sharp as an ice dagger, plunging straight into Axel's bone marrow. He froze, his eyes locked on the figure behind the cockpit window of a ship that should have been destroyed. That stare, that crooked smile, it was all too real to be dismissed as a mere data hallucination."Leo? No ... it can't be," Axel whispered, his voice almost swallowed by the dying hum of the engines."Axel, focus!" Zara screamed, her fingers drumming against the console, which now sparked with static electricity. "All Stellaris navigation protocols are locked from the outside. The system recognizes The Echo's signal as the primary administrator! We're losing control!""He called me Brother, Zara. You heard it, right?" Axel gripped the edge of the captain's chair, his knuckles white."I don't care what he called you!" Zara turned, her face slick with cold sweat. "If we don't sever this connection in ten seconds, that mysterious ship will pull us into the Primordial Rif
Chapter 35 Itergalactic Shadow
The lights on the ship’s bridge died, plunging them into darkness. Axel’s heart hammered against his ribs. The sound of the child's laughter, Leo's whisper, still echoed in his ears, cold and sharp."Axel! What's going on?" Zara yelled, her voice thick with panic. A dim glow from the emergency console was the only light on her pale face."He's here. Somewhere on this ship." Axel summoned his blades. A golden light burst forth, illuminating the dark cockpit. "Crew, report status! Full alert!"But before anyone could answer, a strange vibration resonated from the hull. The main screen, previously dark, suddenly flickered to life, showing the visual feed of the warp corridor outside. The warp corridor was no longer stable. Thousands of entities emerged. They weren't asteroids, nor ships. They were data anomalies, radiating a purple aura."Axel, look! They aren't just outside! They're manifesting inside the ship!" Zara pointed toward the lo
Chapter 36 The Mirror World
"He’s been waiting for us." Axel looked at Zara, worry evident in his eyes. "He knew we would come here. How?""He got here first, Axel," Zara replied, her fingers moving swiftly over the console. "His signal is too strong for simple long-range transmission. He’s close by."The Stellaris shuddered, its silver aura flickering as it fully exited the warp corridor. Before them, a sight slammed into Axel like an invisible shockwave. The space around them was no longer pitch black. It was a mad kaleidoscope of overlapping colors, like thousands of giant mirrors shattering and merging in the void. Each broken shard reflected a different reality. There were newly formed galaxies exploding in blue light. There were shattered planets turning into slow-moving stardust. Everything spun, collided, then separated again in chaotic, irregular motions."This ... this is it," Zara whispered, her eyes wide. "The Primordial Rift.""I don't understand," Ax
Chapter 37 The Echo Entity
A bright red light erupted from within the cathedral ruins, washing over the Stellaris. The entire system flickered, the fusion engine roaring. Axel gripped the armrest, feeling the shockwave of energy bypass the ship's shields and hit his mind directly."Axel! What's happening?" Zara shouted, her hands flying off the console. Her face was deathly pale. "This energy is attacking our consciousness directly!""The shields are holding against the physical assault, but it's trying to overwhelm us with corrupt data!" Captain Vahn exclaimed, his hands struggling to stabilize the helm.Axel felt the wave of data grip his brain, pulling up his darkest memories. He saw the fading ruins of Earth, Kaelen's cynical smile, and ... Leo. His brother, who should have been long gone, appeared in his mind with empty eyes."Axel, focus!" Zara shrieked. "Don't let them get inside your head!"But the voice had already echoed inside Axel's head. It wasn't Leo's familiar
Chapter 38 Traces of Other Operators
"Zara, say that again." Axel gripped Zara's shoulders, his eyes fixed on the floating cathedral ruins outside the cockpit window. "Who called out to you?""He called my name, Axel. Not Zara Blaze. He used my real name," Zara whispered. Her voice trembled, tears streaking down her pale cheeks. "A name only my father knew before our city was erased ten years ago.""That's impossible," Axel retorted. He looked over at Captain Vahn. "Vahn, prepare the emergency hatch. Zara and I are going in.""Sir, that's too dangerous! The Echo entity might still be lurking inside," Vahn warned, his tone tense."We don't have a choice, Captain." Axel cut him off. "If there's someone alive in there, we have to know who. Zara, are you ready?"Zara nodded slowly, wiping her tears. "I have to know, Axel. That voice ... it feels too real to be just a data trap."Minutes later, Axel and Zara were inside the small launch capsule. With a slight jolt, they launched tow
Chapter 39 The Giant Eye
Axel yanked Zara’s arm, pulling her away from the data vortex consuming her father’s terminal. "Don't look back! Your father was right; we have to move now!""Ten years, Axel! Ten years I searched for him, and I lose him again in mere seconds?" Zara yelled, her voice breaking amidst the roar of the crumbling cathedral walls."He sacrificed his life so you could save Earth! Don't waste it!" Axel leaped over a gap in the floor that was disintegrating into digital ash. "Where is the artifact? Hurry!"Zara roughly wiped away her tears, her gaze fixed on the sensor on her wrist that pulsed red. "Fifty meters left. Beyond the main hall. But Axel, do you see that black liquid? It’s not just corrupt data. It’s pure entropy!"Axel sliced through a clump of black liquid falling from the ceiling. His light sword hissed, hot metallic-scented vapor filling the air. "It feels like cutting through empty space. No resistance, just a void."
Chapter 40 Artifact Hunt
"Our capsule won't last, Axel! The magnetic pressure is tearing apart the outer hull!" Zara shrieked, her voice high-pitched amidst the deafening screech of metal."Hold onto the Artifact, Zara! Don't let go!" Axel gripped the manual control lever, even though he knew the system was completely crippled.A powerful jolt slammed into them as the capsule was sucked into the airlock of Kaelen's giant organic structure. Outside the window, the view changed into a corridor of glowing purple flesh, lined with silver nerve cables that pulsed in rhythm with a terrifying heartbeat."This isn't a ship, Axel. It's an organism," Zara whispered, her eyes wide with horror as she watched the corridor walls seemingly breathe."Whatever it is, it's taking us straight to Kaelen." Axel stood up, drawing his light sword which vibrated unstably. "Not now, please." His sword flickered dimly, as if its energy was being sucked away by the surrounding room.Crash!Their capsule stopped abruptly with an impact t
