CHAPTER SIXTY-ONE“You are going to find out.” Dante gave a very quick and cold response, and then he began to march toward the old man, glaring at him.“Do you know who I am?!” Troy barked, looking around as though he was looking for a weapon. When he found none, he grabbed the trousers that were just on the floor in front of him and then he took out his phone, dialing a number as fast as he could.Dante snatched the phone from him, and then he crushed it in his palm, snarling at the old man.Troy was left jaw-dropped, swallowing hard as he stared with wide eyes.“Who are you? What do you want?” His voice had lost its grip, and looking at his cohorts who were still on the floor, he knew that he was hopeless.Dante grabbed him by the neck and forced him up.“You are going to find out.” He said, ignoring the gasping of the old man.He forced him onto one of the seats in the room, and then he threw a pillow at him.“Cover up, Troy Savanah. I don’t want to see that short thing.”Troy did

CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO“If the entire Plit decides to come for me, then that will be very fun, don’t you think?” Dante responded, leaving the old man stunned.Oliver swallowed hard, and then he looked at his other dead friend, shaking his head in annoyance.“Quin’s sons are going to come for you, Dante! His sons are ruthless killers! You don’t know what you have done!”“Let them come,” Dante said calmly, and then he nodded to affirm his words. He took two steps forward, forcing Oliver to stagger backward again, pushing his gun and shaking it.“Don’t think that this gun is loaded! I am not too old to shoot!”Dante scoffed, and then he cleared his throat.“What about you? When I kill you, who will come to avenge your death?” He asked, but there was no response.Oliver’s expression dropped, and it almost seemed like he was about to drop the gun.“I see…” Dante sniggered, sneering at him.“No one is going to come to make me suffer. That’s very bad of you, Oliver. I thought you were going to ha

CHAPTER SIXTY-THREEThe ladies gasped, and those who were standing were forced to stand, moving closer to each other with wide eyes. The five guards were drawing closer, holding tightly to their swords as they spread.“Who are you and how did you set them free?” One of them asked, moving faster than the others.Dante clenched his fists, glaring at them.“You will have to kill me before you get the answer to that question.” He retorted, and that seemed to be exactly what the men wanted to hear.Gladly, they moved to attack Dante, slowing their steps and taking combat stances.“Be careful,” Jasmine whispered, and when Dante turned to look at her, he saw the fear that she had been trying to hide plastered all over her face.“Don’t worry, this is not going to take so long,” Dante assured with a wry smile, and then he changed his focus back to the men who had already surrounded him, eager to slay him.Dante took a deep breath, and then he pointed to the one among them who had spoken to hi

CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR“I think we should be on our way out of this place.” Dante finally broke his silence, looking behind Aria. The young lady was forced to turn around, and that was when she saw the guards who were already marching toward them in annoyance, growling as though their lives depended on it.These were with swords, and Dante knew what that meant, unable to count them as they were increasing by the minute.“I should kill them!” Aria said, ready to march after the guards who were getting very close to her.Dante gasped, and then he ran after her, grabbing her and pulling her backward.“Are you insane?!” He scowled, gnashing his teeth.“These guards are going to kill you with just one swing of their swords!”“You don’t know that, Dante! It was very easy for me to kill them!” Aria said, and then she turned to the men, spreading her arms and taking a stance.“Just watch and see, Dante. This is going to be very easy.” She sniggered, and then she began to move toward the men, incr

CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVEFrom a distance, he could already see Aria and Jasmine uniting with each other amidst the hugs and empathetic comments that followed.“I thought you guys didn’t know each other.” He said with an inquisitive expression, moving his eyes from one of the ladies to the other.“We don’t,” Jasmine said, turning to Dante with a smile.“She looks so much like her mother. It was hard not to recognize her as soon as I saw her walking toward me.”Dante nodded, and then he took a deep breath, looking at the other ladies who were very exhausted.Reminded of what Aria had done earlier, he turned to her, and the smile on his face vanished at once.“What was that all about?” He asked, glaring at her.“I…” Aria stuttered, looking down in shame.Jasmine stared at her for a while, and then she turned to Dante. “What did she do?” She asked, but Dante didn’t even bother to look at her, still glaring at her.“Do you want to get yourself killed?!” He asked, and Aria shook her head slowly.

CHAPTER SIXTY-SIX“We will do it!” One of the guards said, lifting his hands and gesturing to Dante not to kill the lady.“We will do it...” He repeated, and urging his cohort, he kicked his gun away from himself, and then he waited for him to do the same.“Good.” Dante nodded in satisfaction. “Now turn around.” He instructed, still holding onto the lady’s neck and ready to snap. The man obeyed at once, fighting the urge to turn around.Dante turned to the lady, watching as she was panting, gripped by intense apprehension.“I hope this is going to teach you a lesson! Calling me a servant!” he snarled, and the lady nodded distraughtly. But it was hard to tell what exactly she was responding to.Dante began to push her toward the van, and as soon as they were close enough, he smashed the window of the driver’s position with his right elbow without letting go of the lady even when she winced, thinking that some of the pieces of the glass were going to touch her.“Don’t try to be funny,”

CHAPTER SIXTY-SEVEN“I don’t think I can lose them!” Jasmine panicked, frightened by the sound of the gunshots. She tried to hold onto the steering wheel with tight grips since her hands were beginning to get very slippery, her heart sinking deep into her belly.“You need to drive faster, Jasmine!” Dante urged, and then he opened the back of the van, gesturing to the ladies to stay in hidden corners inside the van.The moment he opened fire at the SUV wheeling after them, the driver was forced to slow down, moments before Dante put a bullet into his chest, shattering the glass. The car stopped as soon as the driver stepped on the brakes while he took his last breath, and the other driver behind him almost hit him, scratching the back of the SUV.Dante gunned down the remaining guards in the first SUV and then he faced the seconds, holding onto the gun tightly.Moments later, the bikers showed up, drifting past the second SUV and taking out their guns. They opened fire at Dante at once

CCHAPTER SIXTY-EIGHTDante took a deep breath and chuckled to the surprise of the ladies who had expected him to be as nervous as they were.Calmly and with his eyes still looking upward, he turned on the ignition of the car and drove off before the drone could spot them.Throughout the ride, none of them said a word, and in less than forty minutes, Dante was already back to where he had left.Aria woke Jasmine up after she had fallen asleep barely ten minutes into the ride, receiving fresh air for the first time since she was captured.Caster was seated in his wheelchair alone in front of the house, and seeing the car approaching, he lifted his face to look at it, taking a deep breath. He looked steadily, zooming in on the car until he was able to see his daughter. Then he replaced his drained and nervous expression with a smile, feeling the sensation that gripped his entire body.Dante pulled over in front of him, and then he turned to Aria, staring her in the eyes.“I hope you are

CHAPTER SIXTY-NINEDante grunted the moment the old man referred to him by the name that brought some of the memories that he was trying so hard to get rid of.“Seven is not my name, old man. My name is Dante, and you should call me that,”Caster grunted, shaking his head in refusal.“You know that’s not going to be possible.” He stood on his firm resolve, causing Dante to grunt.“I would never call you by that name. seven sounds better, it reminds me of the past when the glory belonged to me.” He was silent for a while, but Dante was certain that he still had some other things to say, staring at him with a deadpan expression.“Let’s stick with Seven, shall we? It makes me happier calling you that.”Dante scoffed, and then he nodded without changing his expression.“Well, it doesn’t matter.” He retorted with a wry smile, and then he took a deep breath.“You are never going to see me again, old man. I believe that we are even now, and whatever holds us together has lost its hold on us.

CHAPTER SEVENTY“Since you returned from that place, you have barely said a word to me, Dante.” Mira lamented, staring Dante in the eyes. She waited for a response, but even after a few seconds, it didn’t seem like Dante was ready to say a word to her.He just sat down quietly on the bed, looking at nothing in particular as he stared out through the casement window.Mira still didn’t want to give up, insisting that she get an answer before she let Dante be.“I am about to become your wife, Dante.” She paused for a few seconds, taking a deep breath.“If there is anyone else you should be keeping secrets from, then it shouldn’t be me. I am not just anyone to you.”“I never said that.” Dante cut her short, and finally, he was looking her in the eyes, taking a deep breath. He slowly pushed himself up and walked up to her.“Mira?” He called out even though she was staring him in the eyes.He sighed, and then he sat next to her, holding onto his smile.“I need you to understand that I just
