Elena went silent. She stared at Arya with an expression that had emptied itself of everything it had been holding a moment before. His words were still moving through her, and as they did, she began to look back at the years behind her with different eyes. She looked across the table at Evelyn, who sat there quietly, visibly hurting in a way she rarely allowed herself to show, and Elena realized with a slow, uncomfortable clarity that she couldn't remember the last time she had asked her daughter how she was doing. Not about work, not about marriage prospects, not about grandchildren. Just how she was. Evelyn had built her business. Had become someone formidable. Had taken care of everything after her father died, including her mother, without complaint. And what had Elena done in return? Asked when she was getting married. Asked when there would be grandchildren. Decided what she needed and presented it as love. She had never once stopped to ask whether Evelyn was happy. "How

They stepped out of the restaurant after a lunch that had gone nothing like anyone had planned, and Elena pulled her daughter aside before they reached the car, keeping her voice low but urgent. Her eyes drifted briefly toward Arya, who was standing a short distance away, and then came back to Evelyn. "Eve, I won't be looking for anyone else. I'm satisfied with your choice. But when are the two of you getting married? You know I've been waiting a long time for a grandchild." "Married?" Evelyn stared at her mother, then stole a quick, bewildered glance at Arya. "I" "Why are you hesitating?" Elena pressed, reading the look on her daughter's face. "He's your choice, isn't he? You're clearly happy with him. Don't tell me you have no plans to marry, because then I would not approve. Isn't Arya exactly the right person for you?" "Never mind work and all the rest of it. Look at his connection to Mayor Thomas alone. A man like that

"Pfft..." Aruna and Karina both turned away at the same moment, shoulders shaking, each making a valiant and unsuccessful attempt to disguise their laughter as a cough. But Kiara wasn't finished. She spotted Karina and added, without hesitation, "You too! The quiet skinny auntie!" "Hahaha!" The delivery crew outside broke first, and from there the laughter spread freely across the courtyard, warm and uncontained, the awkwardness of a moment ago dissolving entirely into something cheerful. Kiara had a particular gift for that. Even Arya couldn't hold back a wide smile, looking down at the small person in his arms. But the most surprising response came from Evelyn. She didn't get angry. Where the first meeting had produced an eruption, this time she smiled, genuinely and warmly, her eyes crinkling at the corners, completely unbothered by what she had just been called. She clapped her hands lightly and looked at Kiara with the focused warmth of someone who had decided to win this

"What are you looking at?" Evelyn could guess what Arya was thinking, but she had no intention of explaining herself. She crossed her arms with obvious irritation. "Are you going to refuse this too? Do you think I'm plotting something? If that's what you think, you're giving yourself far too much credit. I'm helping you as a business partner. Is there something wrong with that?" Arya considered it for a moment, then shook his head and let the thought go. He turned to Aruna. "Accept what she's offering." "But, brother" "It's fine. This woman is a little annoying, but she isn't a bad person. You can trust her." "Did you just call me annoying?" Evelyn turned on him immediately, her expression making very clear what she thought of that description. She didn't wait for a response. She reached into one of the bags she had set aside earlier and held it out to Aruna. "Don't listen to your brother. He says whatever comes to mind. My name is Evelyn Vale, but you can call me Sister Eve.

Arya's expression grew serious as he heard the question. He crouched down to her level and began explaining carefully. "Let me tell you properly. Aruna is not the mother who gave birth to Ara — she is Daddy's younger sister. But because Aruna has taken care of Ara since you were very small and has always loved you, it's perfectly fine to call her mama, as a mother who raised you in place of your birth mother." "But Auntie Eve is different. She has no connection to Ara, so she cannot be called mama. As for Ara's birth mother, the one who actually gave birth to you — her name is Lana Wijaya." "Lana Wijaya?" Kiara's eyes went wide with sudden recognition. "Isn't that the person Daddy mentioned when we first met?" "That's right." Arya smiled and nodded, genuinely glad she remembered. "Lana Wijaya. That is Ara's birth mother." "So Ara has a mother?" "Of course Ara has a mother!" Aruna chimed in. "If you didn't have a mother, how would you have been born?" Kiara smiled at that, and n

"Close my eyes again?" The pout returned immediately, and with it a noticeable drop in enthusiasm. But the promise of magic still held enough power over her, and she closed her eyes again without actually refusing. Following Arya's guidance, the little girl with her eyes shut suddenly exclaimed, "Daddy, Daddy! Ara can see them!" "What does Ara see?" "Bubbles! Rainbow-colored bubbles! There are green ones, blue ones, red ones, yellow ones, and white ones! So many bubbles, all around Ara!" The answer came out in a rush of delight. Arya couldn't hold back his smile. The description was unmistakably accurate — those were spiritual energy sources. And the fact that Kiara could distinguish five separate colors was not a small thing. Most cultivators, even talented ones, could perceive one or two elemental energies at most. His daughter could see all five, the complete set of foundational elements that governed heaven and earth. The Innate Five-Element Constitution. Truly something ex

"In that case," Thomas turned to his daughter and said, "go straight inside with Ara. Daddy will head home now." "Okay!" Viona understood and took Kiara's hand, saying goodbye to Arya as she went. "Goodbye, Daddy!" Arya gave a light nod and waved, then turned to follow Thomas. "Wait!" Gina, who had been standing there feeling thoroughly ignored, stepped forward to stop them both. "I'm not finished with you!" she said to Arya, then turned to Thomas. "I don't know who you are, but you really shouldn't associate with people like him. It would be a shame for someone as distinguished and successful-looking as you to lower yourself by keeping company with someone this common." Someone this common. Thomas turned to look between Arya and Gina for a moment when he heard that. He didn't know this woman, but the words made him quietly uneasy, and he said quickly, "So I should be associating with people like you instead?" "Exactly!" Gina agreed, visibly pleased, and began introducing he

"Mr. Arya, this is Ryan Hale, Thomas's younger brother and my second son." Robert introduced the young man of twenty-five first. Then he gestured to the woman beside him. "And this is my daughter-in-law, Katheryn — Thomas's wife and Viona's mother. I believe you've met her before." Arya nodded to both of them in greeting. "I suppose I don't need to introduce myself," Leonard said, speaking up for himself, since the two of them had already met. Arya was of course familiar with Leonard Forst, but his attention moved across the assembled family with quiet interest. Coming here had been the right decision. "Please, come inside," Robert said, and led them all into the villa. They settled in the main sitting room, Arya taking the central seat. He let his gaze move across the family for a moment before it came to rest on Robert. "I haven't yet thanked you properly for what you did." As he spoke, Arya reached into the bag he had brought and produced a one-liter plastic bottle filled wi

Ryan nodded slowly, his expression shifting into something serious and respectful. "They truly are no longer ordinary humans. It's said they can live well beyond a hundred years." "A hundred years?" Robert, Thomas, Leonard, and Katheryn looked at one another, the unease moving visibly between them. A living weapon that was nearly impossible to kill and could walk the earth for more than a century. When the four of them let that thought settle, they couldn't help but shake their heads almost simultaneously. That was simply too far beyond them. They didn't even dare think about it too carefully. Only Arya remained completely unmoved, giving the lightest of nods, without surprise or any particular reaction. Because it made sense to him. If Grandmaster corresponded roughly to the sixth level of Qi Training, then naturally there would be higher stages reaching toward the ninth. The limitation on this world was not the ceiling of the system but the resources available to climb it. Int

Arya didn't wait for their answer. He rose from his seat and said in an easy tone, "I'm not asking for a decision right now. When you find anything, you can let me know." He turned to leave, but Thomas stood abruptly. "Mr. Arya, a moment please." Thomas stepped out briefly and returned with a car key in his hand. "Mr. Arya," he said, holding it out, "this is the key to an Audi R8. A small gesture of goodwill from our family. We hope you'll accept it." Arya looked at the key for a moment. An Audi R8. A luxury sports car worth several million dollars. Not a small gift. But he didn't refuse. He took the key and gave a slight nod. "Thank you." After Arya had gone, the atmosphere in the sitting room became very tense. Thomas was the first to speak, his face pale with worry. "Father," he said, his voice unsteady, "this is too dangerous. Searching for information on someone from the Wijaya family means putting ourselves directly in their line of sight." Robert understood the prob
