Sweet Revenge
Micheal stood on the throne platform, his face carefully hidden behind Fate's Mask. He could already see a number of people in the crowd staring at him intently as though trying to see past the mask. Good luck with that… Micheal merely scoffed. He shifted his attention back to Devon, Mia, Khalid, Josh and Dan. Their backs were lacerated and mangled due to the way he had whipped them on the way here. Seeing them trying to hide their faces from the onlookers made him grin.So many times… so many damn times when you bastards dragged me around the corridors of that damned academy in my underwear. This is the beginning of the torment I will put you all through. You will regret ever being born into this world… Micheal thought as he calmly took his seat on the golden throne. Then, his voice boomed far and wide, “Ladies and gentlemen. Powerful hunters of this accursed tower. I want to introduce you to five certain individuals. Don't be fooled. These bastards who kneel before you all are som
Back To The Inn
Upon making the announcement, Micheal didn't linger. He poured all the strength he had into his legs, then bolted towards the inner entrance he had walked in through. Before any of the guards were able to react, or any of the other powerful folks could give chase, he was already gone.He moved like a shadow as he whooshed past the hallways, quickly arriving at the concealed corner where he kept his robes. He changed back into the garment he had worn to the party, then commanded Fate’s Mask to return to the visage of the golden wolf. After he was done, he calmly stepped out of the corner, surveyed his surroundings, and returned like nothing happened. On his way, he passed by a few guards who were running frantically, searching for the culprit. He passed beside them casually and returned to the palace hall. The hall was, in one word… chaos. A few guards circled Devon and his group, protecting them from the harsh retaliation of the guests. That didn't stop some of them from throwing it
Desiree’s Story
The night was still. A cold breeze wafted across the open courtyard as the moonlight illuminated Micheal's grim expression. He stared at the woman standing in front of him, arms folded. “How did you know?” He asked. Desiree took a step back, feeling a sense of fear at Micheal's sudden switch in demeanor. She quickly said, “Wait, before you get any dangerous thoughts, I promise that your secret is safe with me, okay?! My lips are sealed.”Micheal stared at her for a few seconds. “How did you know?” He repeated the question. Desiree chuckled wryly and scratched the back of her neck. She answered without holding anything back, “I have a skill. It's called the Eye of Prying. It allows me to see through things. Although, the ability doesn't work when the barrier I'm trying to see through is too vast or too thick. It also doesn't work when the item has been enchanted to prevent prying. Like that mask of yours.”Micheal's eyes narrowed slightly. Desiree, meanwhile, continued. “The restr

After hearing Desiree’s story, Micheal exhaled softly and looked up. His eyes gazed at the starless sky for a long moment, then he said, “I can't really promise you all the good things in life. The things we can do in this tower is rather limited, after all.” He turned to look at her. “However, I can promise that you'll definitely live an exciting life. And we'll grow even stronger. So, would you like to join my party?” Desiree blinked a few times. She seemed surprised, as she muttered, “Join your party? You'd allow that?” “Why not?” Micheal shrugged his shoulders. “It's not like I can actually conquer this tower alone. I need trustworthy companions. We could really use someone on the Forged rank, even if you aren't a combat-oriented Hunter.” “Wow,” The woman chuckled lightly, completely short of words. Eventually, she composed herself and bowed to him. “It would be an honor to travel with your party, Dark Huntsman.” Micheal smiled. He nodded and said, “You don't have to b
Exchange Of Skills
“My class is Pariah.”Micheal's voice contained a firmness that made the others realize that he was being serious. Cassandra and Amy exchanged looks, the former being particularly surprised. The lady had initially believed Micheal to be from the Phantom class, like her, due to his possession of Sharia’s Blade. However, after seeing how he fought with that Regal-grade greatsword, she began thinking that he was a Paladin. Who would've thought that he wasn't from any of those classes? In fact, he wasn't from any of the known classes. Darrion was the first to speak out. He said as he scratched the tip of his nose, “Pariah? That's not among the list of classes people possess.”Desiree shook her head. “We can't be sure about the complete list. What if the class is simply so rare that we haven't seen anyone with it, up until now?”“That's true, too.” Darrion agreed with a nod. He then asked with a hint of excitement, “Well, what kind of skills come with such a class?”Amy and Cassandra w
The Team
Desiree seemed particularly interested in Darrion’s skill-set. She leaned forward slightly, eyes wide with curiosity as the young man spoke. Darrion gestured to Micheal. “As I explained to you that day, every Blacksmith is granted a conceptual workshop by the system as a first skill. It's within that workshop that we are able to craft all items, before directly drawing it into our inventory.”The boy nodded, urging him to continue. “As for my second skill, it's called ‘Ore Golem.’”“Ore Golem?” Cassandra and Amy said simultaneously. “That's a rather uncanny name.”Darrion chuckled. “It is. What it does is give me something like a handy Golem that produces a certain amount of precious ores every hour. However, I have to feed the Golem Moonstones before it can work.”“Ohhh,” Desiree nodded in enlightenment. She laughed softly and said, “The skills can be so vastly different depending on the class.”“Right?” Micheal agreed. “I never would've expected that such a skill could exist.”“Th

A Terrible News
Opulent District, in a particular villa…A councilroom was decorated with golden statues all over— gold that had been carried over from the 30th floor Fort of Sand. In the center of the elegant hall was a gilded rectangular table. Surrounding it were six high-back chairs, and on those chairs were men and women in formal suits. A man with a broad shoulder sat at the head of the table. The man had his fingers intertwined as he stared ahead with a grim expression. The other figures present in the hall shifted uneasily, their heads bowed. The broad-shouldered man was Mr. Robinson, one of the VIPs of the tower. The VIPs were second only to the Zenith— the actual governing body of the tower. The man was also Devon’s father, and one of the most influential people before and after the apocalypse. In that cold silence, Mr. Robinson finally spoke. His voice was like a thunderous crack as he said, “What did you just say?”The guard who had walked in to deliver the news lowered his head even
Unbound
After the lady left the office, the broad shoulder man, Devon’s father, slumped in his chair. He pressed both palms to his face, groaning to release all the frustration he had been bottling.“Devon, this is going to cost me a lot.” He growled, fingers clenching down on his face so much that he left reddish bruises on his skin. After a moment of thinking of his next course of action, the man slowly sat up, stepped out of the council room and said to one of his guards. “I'm leaving for the day. Cease all affairs for now.”“Yes, my lord!” The guard saluted. Devon’s father nodded with satisfaction and left the villa that functioned as his office. Accompanied by two of his personal bodyguards, he made his way around the estate to the main mansion. The Robinson estate was one of the largest, featuring magnificent structures around its expanse. It was five times more elegant than that of a certain teenager's, speaking volumes of the man's wealth.Wealth that he had garnered by engaging in
First Party Raid
Micheal slowly opened his eyes. A gentle breeze dabbed against his skin, and the freeing smell of the ebbing waves filled his nostrils. He looked around, finding himself in what appeared to be a beach-like scape. The distant shore was lined with wooden benches, and the sand beneath his feet was filled with all sorts of items. Unfortunately, even though this place looked like a real beach, it was nothing of the sort. The very sand beneath Micheal's feet was home to numerous abominations. And it was the same for the distant sea. “I could relax in this place forever,” Desiree said with a throaty moan as she stretched. Darrion laughed. He said with a smile, “You're about to change your mind once those abominations sense our presence.” Amy and Cassandra finally arrived, looking around at the beautiful scenery. However, they knew that they couldn't let their guard down for even a moment. They were on the 32nd level, after all, and this place was bound to be filled with all sorts of drea
