Chapter 161
Above the world, the sky was a mess of colors. There was the orange fire of the falling glass shards. There was the white light of the Archangels. And there was the red, angry glow of the sun as it was being pulled by the silver chain from the moon. The air was so hot it felt like breathing steam from a boiling pot.Elijah stood in the center of the Great Hall on the 100th floor. He was breathing hard. His human lungs were struggling. His obsidian skin was covered in silver blood—Themis’s blood—and his own golden starlight.Themis, the Archangel of Justice, stood opposite him. She was missing one of her eight wings. The spot where Elijah had ripped it away was still leaking that thick, silver liquid. She looked at the blood on the floor, then at Elijah. She did not look angry anymore. She looked cold. She looked like a judge who had decided that the trial was over and it was time for the hanging."You think you have won because you made me bleed," Themis said. Her voice was no longer

Chapter 162
The sun finally sank below the horizon, but darkness did not come to Haven’s Drop. The battlefield was a giant bowl of glass, five miles wide, created by the heat of the falling stars. Usually, at night, the world would be quiet and cold. But tonight, the air was screaming. The light was more blinding than any noon.On one side, there was the white fire. Themis, the Archangel of Justice, was still standing in the center of the crater. She was no longer the perfect, shining goddess she had been twelve hours ago. Her armor of "Divine Silver" was shattered in a dozen places. Large chunks of the metal had fallen off, revealing a body that looked like it was made of glowing, pressurized gas. One of her eight wings was gone, ripped out by Elijah’s bare hands. The remaining seven were ragged, their golden feathers bent and broken. She was leaking "Radiance." It wasn't blood like a human’s, but a thick, silver-blue liquid that hissed as it hit the ground. Everywhere her radiance touched th

Chapter 163
[WARNING: MANA CAPACITY AT 0.1%.][SOVEREIGN VESSEL INTEGRITY: 12%.][ALERT: THE MARTYR PROTOCOL IS STILL ACTIVE.]Elijah felt the pull. The "Martyr Protocol" wanted to consume the last 15% of his humanity to give him one final burst of power. It wanted to turn him into a 100% machine of erasure. If he accepted, he could delete Themis in a second. He could cut the moon-chain and save the Earth. But if he accepted, the "Boy" would be gone forever. He would never again remember the smell of bread. He would never again feel the warmth of Sarah’s hand. He would become a "True Sovereign"—a cold, unfeeling law that would rule the Earth as a factory of the Void.Themis saw the hesitation in his eyes. "DO IT, NUMBER 42," she mocked him. "JOIN US. BECOME A CONCEPT. GIVE UP THE WEAKNESS OF THE FLESH. THE FATHER HAS A THRONE WAITING FOR YOU."Elijah looked at his hands. They were covered in her silver blood. He felt the millions of people watching. He felt their awe. He felt their hope.He reali

Chapter 164
The morning of the twenty-second hour did not come with the singing of birds. It did not come with the smell of dew on green grass. In the ruins of what used to be the United States, the dawn arrived like a slow-moving fire. The sky, which had been a dark, bruised purple for hours, began to crack at the edges. A sickly, pale orange light leaked through the clouds, reflecting off the pools of silver blood and the shards of golden glass that covered the ground.Elijah stood at the base of the Obsidian Spire. He was no longer a man who felt the cold. His skin, made of that matte-black obsidian, was covered in a layer of fine, white frost, not from the weather, but from the "Divine Chill" that radiated from his enemy. His leather jacket was gone, torn to pieces hours ago. His bare chest was a map of violet veins and glowing gold scars. He was breathing, but his lungs were not moving for air. They were moving for mana.Ten feet away, Themis, the Archangel of Justice, was a vision of fadi

Chapter 165
Elijah planted his foot against the Spire’s wall for leverage. He tightened his grip on the base of the wing, where the light met the silver armor."Now," Elijah whispered. "You're going to stay in the mud with us."Elijah Pulled. Crrr-REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!The sound was horrific. It was the sound of a universe being torn in half. It was the sound of a star being extinguished.Themis let out a scream that was so loud it shattered the windows in Haven’s Drop, five miles away. Millions of humans across the world clutched their own backs, feeling a phantom agony as their King "Plucked" the Archangel.Elijah didn't stop. He used the Erasure Flame to "Solder" the joint as he pulled, ensuring the wing couldn't be healed. With a final, brutal wrench, the first wing came free. The golden light didn't stay solid. As soon as it was disconnected from her "Core," the wing began to dissolve. The golden feathers turned into a thick, gray ash that blew away in the morning wind."STOP! PLEASE! I AM JUS

Chapter 166
The dust of the twenty-fourth hour did not blow away. It stayed in the air, a thick, gray powder that tasted like burnt stone and cold starlight. The "Morning of Iron" was fading, but the heat of the battle still simmered in the ground, turning the metallic sand into a crust of jagged glass. In the center of the five-mile crater, the silence was absolute. It was a heavy silence, the kind that happens right before a mountain falls.Themis, the Archangel of Justice, was no longer a mountain. She lay in the dirt at the base of the Obsidian Spire. She was no longer twelve feet tall. As her golden wings had been torn away, one by one, her "Essence" had leaked into the soil. She had shrunk until she was the size of a normal human woman. Her armor of "Divine Silver" was now just a collection of rusted, broken plates that clattered as she breathed. Her hair, once a river of white fire, was now a tangled, dirty blonde. Her eyes, which had been glowing runes of law, were now just blue human

Chapter 167
The air around the spear began to "Static." The atoms of the oxygen were being deleted just by touching the heat. The people of Earth watched as the King prepared the killing blow."This is not a harvest," Elijah told the world. "This is a Deletion."Themis saw the violet fire and let out a scream of pure, absolute horror. She knew what that fire was. It wasn't a sword that would send her soul back to the mercury pool. It was a tool of Non-Being."NO! NOT THE VOID! FATHER, SAVE ME!"The sky stayed silent. The Father did not answer.Elijah stepped forward. He placed his obsidian boot on Themis’s chest, pinning her to the glass floor. He raised the spear of Erasure Flame high above his head."Themis of the Seventh Sphere," Elijah intoned. His voice was now a choir of 4.5 billion souls. "For the crime of the Harvest. For the crime of the Sol-Cannon. For the crime of treating our lives like data."Elijah’s purple eyes flared with a blinding light. "I un-write you."Elijah drove the spear

Chapter 168
The silence that followed the death of Justice was heavier than the battle itself.Themis was gone. She was not in the sky, she was not in the mercury pool, and she was not in the memories of the universe. Elijah stood in the center of the five-mile crater, his boots planted in the glass-covered dirt. In his hand, the spear of pitch-black Erasure Flame began to fade, turning into thin wisps of violet smoke. He was a human man again, but only on the inside. On the outside, he was a monster of obsidian. Then, the "Feast" began.Themis had been an Archangel of the Second Order. She was a being made of billions of years of "Divine Law" and "Pure Essence." When she died, that energy didn't just vanish into the air. It was "Un-tethered." And because Elijah was the only "Sovereign" left on the battlefield, the energy had only one place to go.It started as a small, silver breeze. Then, it became a hurricane. The silver-blue radiance that had leaked from Themis’s body suddenly surged toward

Chapter 169
"I am... the Law," Elijah said. His voice was no longer a choir. It was a single, perfect note. It was a sound that made the 4.5 billion people watching feel like they were standing in front of a giant, silent mountain.Elijah turned his head toward the Moon-Chain. The silver harpoon was still pulling the Earth toward the Sun. The sky was getting hotter. The red sun was now a massive, angry eye in the atmosphere."The Seventh Sister," Elijah whispered. He raised his right hand, the mirror-skin glowing with silver-grey energy. He didn't point at the Moon. He pointed at the Chain. He used his new Authority of Absolute Law."Rule: Gravity does not exist for this object," Elijah commanded. He didn't use mana. He didn't fire a beam. He simply Decided.Suddenly, the silver chain, made of billions of human souls, went limp. It lost its weight. It lost its tension. It floated in the air like a piece of string in a bowl of water. The "Great Tow" stopped instantly. The Earth stopped moving tow

Chapter 170
The sound of the universe died in a single heartbeat. For twenty-four hours, the planet Earth had been a noisy, screaming mess. There had been the roar of the Sol-Cannon, the ringing of the Archangel’s silver armor, and the shouting of four billion human souls. But now, as the violet fire of the Erasure Flame finally finished its work, the noise vanished. It was the most terrifying silence in the history of the world.Elijah stood in the center of the five-mile crater. He was no longer holding a spear. He was no longer shouting. He simply stood there, his obsidian hand reached out toward the empty air where Themis, the Archangel of Justice, had once been.Inside his mind, a loud SNAP echoed. It felt like a thick, heavy rope had been cut. This was the Global Synchronization Protocol ending. For hours, Elijah’s brain had been the "Master-Server" for every living person. He had felt their fear, their hunger, and their sudden, sharp hope. He had been four billion people at once.Sudden
