BACK TO LIFE
Kyle frowned, confused by the sudden command."Heal him?" he repeated. "What are you talking about? I don't even know who's inside."Elijah's expression remained cold."You will."Before Kyle could ask another question, Elijah pushed the heavy wooden door open.A sharp smell of antiseptic and medicine drifted out into the hallway.Kyle stepped inside. The room was unlike the rest of the mansion. Instead of expensive furniture and decorations, it looked more like a private hospital ward. Medical equipment surrounded a large bed in the center. Heart monitors beeped steadily while oxygen tanks stood beside the wall.Several doctors immediately stood up when Elijah entered."Sir," one of them greeted respectfully.Elijah gave a slight nod."Leave us."The doctors exchanged nervous glances before quietly walking out of the room.Kyle's eyes slowly shifted toward the man lying on the bed.His breath caught. The man looked no older than forty-five, but illness had stolen years from him. His
TRAPPED YET AGAIN
Kyle jerked backward the moment the man sneezed three times back to life.Elijah rushed towards the bed while Kyle took his queue to run. He gave the nearest guard at the door and elbow to the jaw and ran as fast his legs could carry him."Emy!" He shouted each time as he ran through the hallway. "Damnit! Where the fuck are you?" "Emily!" Kyle shouted again. He could hear the loud and rushing feet of almost ten men coming his way. Kyle didn't want to leave Emily behind. He knew Elijah was going to use her as a tool to get back to him. Kyle stood his ground again and shouted with all he had. "Emily!" Kyle's voice echoed through the endless hallway, bouncing off the concrete walls."Emily!"Silence answered him. Then, he heard her voice. "Kyle!"It was faint.Very faint. But he heard it.His heart skipped."Emily!" he shouted again."I'm here!"The voice came from somewhere below him.Kyle looked around frantically until he noticed a metal staircase at the end of the corridor le
THE HOWARD'S BATTLE
"Stay behind me!" Kyle shouted at Emily. Elijah beamed with a wicked smile. "And what exactly are you going to do? You can't possibly fight your way out of here." he said laughing. His back was rested against the wall with a cigarette in his hand. "You know, I have always envied both brothers." Elijah said again and this time, a wicked smile appeared on his face. "I was never the favoured son. It was either your father or that bastard!" Elijah walked forward while Kyle and Emily slowly kept walking backward towards the closed gate. "Do you know how I survived back then?" he said and paused. "You bastard! Do you think you are going to get away with this?" Kyle cursed under his breath, holding Emily's hand tightly.Elijah laughed again. It was clear that he was finding it amusing. "I didn't believe it when I knew you were alive. I had always thought Adrian was going to bare it all. But then, he was just a mere bastard!" Elijah's voice echoed through the dark tunnels. "You know
THE ESCAPE
Clark's car drove into the underground, breaking the walls into two parts. "Get in!" he shouted, his gaze fixed on Kyle. "Stop them!" Elijah shouted. Kyle grabbed Emily's hand and immediately pulled her into the car. Blood trickled down the corner of his face. "How did you know I was here?" he asked Clark didn't answer. He immediately accelerated and drove like a maniac. Elijah's voice could be heard as his men scattered, each trying to get to the parking lot. "I managed to put a tracker on you, Mr Kyle. I need to keep an eye on you to know where to search if you went missing." Clark said "You put a tracker on me? When? How?" Kyle asked "I don't think this is the time for questions, Mr Kyle. We need to get you to safety." Emily whimpered as she looked back each time. "Do you think we are going to be able to leave here alive?" she asked "Not if I let go of the wheel. I am getting us out of here!" Clark replied. He looked into the mirror and noticed that they were just two o
WHO DIES NEXT?
"Brace yourselves!"Clark yanked the steering wheel to the right. The rocket streaked past the driver's side with barely a metre to spare.BOOM!The explosion swallowed the lane they had occupied a split second earlier.A wall of fire erupted behind them. The shockwave lifted the rear tyres off the ground. The car spun sideways.Emily screamed.Kyle grabbed the dashboard as Clark fought desperately to regain control. The tyres slammed back onto the asphalt.Smoke poured around them."We're still alive..." Emily whispered, unable to believe it."For now," Clark muttered. The helicopter climbed before circling for another attack."They're coming around again," Kyle said, looking through the shattered roof.Clark cursed under his breath."They're trying to herd us into an open stretch. It'll be easier to hit us there."The two remaining SUVs accelerated, boxing them in.One moved to their left. The other closed in from behind."They're trapping us!" Emily cried."I can see that."The SUV
THE TRAP
Kyle stared at the photograph. His fingers tightened around the phone until his knuckles turned white."No..." he whispered.Emily leaned closer. The colour drained from her face the moment she saw Justin and Kelly."They're alive..." she breathed."Barely."Clark stole a glance at the screen before returning his eyes to the road."Is that Elijah?"Kyle nodded. "He has them."A second message appeared. You have one hour. Come alone, or they die. Then another. And don't bother tracing this number. The phone switched itself off.Kyle frowned."He hacked it."Clark reached over and took the phone from him."It isn't hacked."He removed the battery compartment with surprising ease.Hidden beneath it was a tiny black chip no bigger than a grain of rice."A transmitter."Kyle's eyes widened."The tracker you placed on me?"Clark shook his head."No."He crushed the chip between his fingers."I've never seen this one before."Emily's heart skipped."You mean...""They've been tracking us."C
The mistake
Time flew by in a matter of days. Xavier was discharged and was immediately brought into a new house befitting of a man who had a rich father. He has his own fleet of cars, servants and not to mention the luxury that came with his title. Alden bowed the moment Xavier got down from the car. Xavier's brows furrowed, his gaze swept through the serene environment and the freshness of the air he breathed in. “ Wait? Do I have to live here now?” Alden laughed. “ This is just one of the many houses your father has. I think staying here would be a good start.” he replied, his hand stretched out with a key. Rolls of servants lined up right in front of Ethan with their heads bowed. “ Welcome back home, Young master!” they all chorused at once. Young master? The name itself felt foreign to his ears. “ I need to get back to school. I was under….” “ Suspension?” Alden said immediately. “ That has been sorted out. We called the Dean and it has been taken care of.
No lies
The courtyard didn’t recover immediately. Even after the announcement. Even after the realization of who the girl truly was. The campus was silent with many of the students whispering. All eyes remained on Xavier wondering what was going on. Lots of them couldn't hide their curiosity. Most of them wondered where Xavier had managed to meet the daughter of the president. Xavier stood still, his expression unreadable, his gaze fixed on the lady who seemed to be pleased to see him. The same people who once laughed at him now whispered behind careful hands. The same eyes that once looked down on him now avoided him. Power didn’t always need to be spoken. Sometimes… it simply needed to be felt. And right now everyone was scared of what he was truly becoming. “Xavier…” The voice called softly. The guards parted the way and Annabel walked freely towards Xavier. She bowed a bit and stared at him. “ Thank you for saving my life. I wouldn't be here if not for you.” S
The grave
The courtyard had not recovered. Even after the cars left, even after the whispers died down, even after the students slowly returned to their classes, something had changed. It lingered in the air—heavy, unsettling—and at the center of it all was Xavier Henderson. The Dean’s phone slipped from his trembling fingers and hit the ground with a dull crack. The courtyard fell into silence with each student anticipating what was happening next. Every single student watched as the once proud man—who had stood tall just moments ago—now looked like someone whose entire world had just collapsed. His lips parted, but no words came out. “…I understand,” he muttered weakly, though the call had already ended. Alden stepped forward calmly, his hands behind his back. “It’s been handled.” That was all he said. No explanation. No announcement. But everyone understood. The Dean swallowed hard, his legs trembling before he slowly turned to Xavier. For a moment, he hesitated. Then—“I… I sincere
Frightened Kyle
Xavier Henderson was the name on everyone’s lips. The educators feared it, and the students lowered their voices whenever they spoke. Bullies who once ruled the corridors had vanished almost overnight, either forced into silence or dragged into consequences they had never imagined facing. There was no favoritism anymore, no protection from family names or wealth. Rules applied equally, and for the first time, the school felt… controlled. Not chaotic but less dramatic and quite peaceful. And at the center of it all was just one person. He didn’t shout. He didn’t threaten. He didn’t need to. Power followed him naturally now. The main hallway, once filled with careless laughter and reckless arrogance, had taken on a different tone. Conversations dropped the moment Xavier appeared. Eyes followed him, but carefully. No one dared look him in the eyes. Some of the students still don't understand how a young boy could suddenly head a school and rule it. A group of students stood n
