The Acelerated Awakening
CRASH!A violent smash that completely splintered the wooden frame of the iron cot echoed from inside Professor Alice's quarantine cell. Liana, who was just about to whisper orders into Giselle’s ear, snapped her head around instantly.Inside the dim cell, Alice’s body was arching at a totally unnatural angle on the concrete floor. The blanket wrapped around her had been shredded to pieces. The old woman looked up, revealing a pair of eyes that had gone completely milk-white with no pupils, surrounded by a web of ink-black veins pulsing aggressively all the way to her temples."Professor?" Nathan lunged forward, gripping the iron bars of the cell with shaking hands.Alice didn't answer with human words. She roared—a raspy, high-pitched shriek that shook the dust off the station ceiling. With one brutal, jerking motion, her thin hands gripped two of the iron bars. Her arm muscles swelled, vibrating violently, and terrifyingly, the two-centimeter-thick iron bars started bending wide
The Underground Express
BANG! BANG! BANG!Sparks flew off the iron bars as a hail of bullets from Harris’s men chewed up the corridor walls. Concrete debris exploded everywhere, blurring their vision. Harris’s shield-bearing squad kept pushing forward in lockstep, squeezing what little space was left in the tight hallway."Fall back! To the back of the cell!" Liana yelled, yanking Giselle’s shaking shoulder.Nathan moved fast. He hoisted Alice's unconscious body onto his back, tying her down tight with the scraps of the torn blanket. At the far end of cell number four, a cinderblock wall had been partially blown open, leaving a massive hole that led straight into the pitch-black subway tracks.Anna was the first to dive through the breach, followed by Liana, Giselle, and Nathan, who was struggling hard under Alice's weight. They landed on the sharp gravel of the rail bed. It was dead dark, freezing, and smelled heavily of stale kerosene."Over there! An inspection cart!" Giselle pointed to an old iron r
The Junction Switch
SCREECH... CRACK.The cart’s iron wheels ground violently against the rails before coming to a dead stop. A hard crash into the wreckage of a burnt-out subway car ahead killed all their escape momentum. A thin plume of smoky air drifted up from the derailed, charred carriage blocking the main tunnel line."Dead end! Get off, now!" Liana ordered, jumping first onto the wet track gravel.Nathan moved fast, hoisting Professor Alice’s still-unconscious body off the cart deck. The old woman’s breathing had stabilized, but her body was still way too limp to stand. Nathan helped her behind a concrete tunnel wall, trying to shield her from any flying metal debris."Liana, there’s a bypass switch on the right!" Giselle yelled, aiming her small flashlight at a massive iron lever standing between the two rail lines. Right next to the lever, an emergency iron door leading to a train maintenance room stood slightly ajar."Anna, help me with the lever! Giselle, watch the emergency door!" Liana
The Abandoned Armory
CLANG! Giselle slammed the tip of her small crowbar right into the gap of the padlock on the massive iron box in the corner of the station security locker room. After three hard, heavy strikes, the brass clasp snapped, letting the lid swing wide open. Inside lay three old patrol shotguns, looking rough and faded, along with two dusty boxes of leftover ammo. "We got guns," Giselle said, her voice winded as she pulled the metal weapons out one by one. "But ammo is tight. Only fifteen rounds total." Anna instantly snatched one of the shotguns, racking it fast to check the firing pin mechanism. CLICK-CLACK. "More than enough to blow a hole through any bastard who gets in our way out." Liana took the second shotgun, then looked over at Nathan, who was leaning against the wall while holding Professor Alice close. The claw marks on Nathan’s back had stopped bleeding; his torn skin already looked like it was drying up fast, giving off a thin, barely visible puff of vapor in the dark.
The Traitor's Frequency
The wooden fishing boat's hull groaned with every heavy wave that slammed against it as the night sea got rougher. The ghost town on the mainland slowly shrank behind them, disappearing into a thick, freezing sea fog. The boat's diesel engine chugged along, spitting faint plumes of smoke into the air as it cut through the waves toward White Sand Island.Inside the tiny, stuffy cockpit, Liana gripped the wooden steering wheel with her bruised hands. Nathan sat on the floor corner, keeping watch over Professor Alice, who was wrapped in a tarp, while Giselle was busy checking an old compass under the faint, flickering panel lights."How much longer 'till the island, Giselle?" Liana asked, keeping her eyes glued to the windshield that was continuously pelted by salt spray."If our speed holds, two hours," Giselle replied, wiping sea spray from her face. "But that storm ahead looks like it's moving faster than we expected."At the stern, Anna leaned against the crates of supplies they’
The First Assembly
CLICK... CLICK... CLICK.Liana’s tactical boots echoed softly on the damp concrete floor of the base’s boat hangar. The flashlight mounted under her shotgun barrel swept across peeling steel walls and rows of abandoned, decaying lifeboats. The sharp stench of salt, rust, and dead engine oil hit their noses."This place is massive," Giselle whispered, pulling her jacket tighter while keeping a firm grip on the small crowbar in her hand.Beside her, Nathan walked carefully, guiding Professor Alice, whose steps were slow but her eyes were growing sharper by the minute. Anna brought up the rear, her rifle aimed into the darkness of the corridor, keeping watch on the perimeter with total alertness.Suddenly, several high-powered halogen spotlights snapped on all at once from the upper hangar balcony, blinding them instantly."Don't move! Hands up or your heads get blown open!" a deep, commanding voice boomed from the darkness of the balcony.RUSTLE... RUSTLE... RUSTLE.From behind t
The Silent Salvage
"What about the scavenger ship docked on the starboard side?" Liana asked, her voice tight as she checked the charge on her final stun-baton.Anna stepped forward, sliding a heavy wrench into her belt. "I’ll handle them. They're just bottom-feeders looking for scrap. I'll make sure they stay busy while you two get the parts.""Don't get yourself killed, Anna," Nathan said, his voice flat."Too late for that," she replied, disappearing into the shadows of the stacked cargo crates.Nathan and Alice waded through the rising water toward the supply depot. The hangar was a graveyard of broken technology—dented fighter jets, overturned forklifts, and tangled webs of wire. The silence was heavy, broken only by the drip of seawater and the distant, muffled clang of heavy boots hitting steel. They reached the depot, but the heavy blast door was already halfway open. Inside, flashlights cut through the gloom."Someone’s already here," Alice hissed, pulling Nathan behind a support pillar.
The Supply Raid
"Three days," Jaka spoke up, his voice raspy as he tapped a finger on the map. "The canned food and antiseptics in our underground vault will only last another three days to feed fifty mouths. This alliance is gonna starve to death before we even get the chance to power up the comm tower."Anna crossed her arms over her chest, letting out a cold snort. "So we gotta head back to the mainland?""The Northern Sector supply depot at Black Cape Pier," Liana pointed to a spot on the mainland shore on the map. "It’s an isolated logistics post. Far from Harris’s main base, but absolutely packed with food and medical supplies. We move tonight using Captain Jaka’s speedboat."Nathan nodded, stepping forward. "I'm in. My body’s fully recovered, I can haul the most gear fast."Two hours later, the engine of Jaka’s speedboat was cut about a hundred meters out from Black Cape Pier. The boat glided quietly through the pitch-black sea, riding the leftover momentum and usin
The Global Awakening
CLAK. KLAK. KREKKK.The sound of metal tools clanking against a steel console echoed through the cramped, damp space of the radar tower's control room. Cobwebs hung from the corners, but the dusty old monitors were finally flickering to life, throwing a pale blue glow over everyone's tense faces.Giselle wiped a streak of grease from her forehead, her fingers flying across a modified keyboard. "Alright, guys, that part we lifted from the military dock actually did the trick. Satellite uplink is green. We are officially on the grid."Professor Alice adjusted her glasses, her eyes fixed on a progress bar that was creeping toward one hundred percent. "The decrypted files regarding the Sektor Utara project are loaded, Liana. Once we push this broadcast, every shortwave radio, military frequency, and hidden receiver on the mainland will get the data. They'll know the government created the virus—and they'll know Nathan's blood holds the cure."Nathan stood near the mi
The Refugee Fleet
BEEP... BEEP... BEEP...The green blips on the radar screen multiplied like a damn virus. Giselle slammed her hand against the terminal, staring at the screen in disbelief."Yo, Liana! We got a massive problem," Giselle yelled, her voice cracking with panic. "That broadcast worked *too* well. Look at this."Liana walked over, her face hardening as she stared at the screen. Over a dozen makeshift blips were crawling across the dark waters, all heading straight toward Pulau Pasir Putih."What the hell is that? A military raid?" Anna asked, leaning against the doorframe while casually tossing a combat knife in the air."No, it's a freakin' armada of junk," Giselle said, rubbing her temples. "Fishing boats, rusty tugboats, old rafts... they’re packed to the brim with people. Survivors from the southern coast. They heard Nathan."Just then, the heavy steel door of the control room burst open. Kapten Jaka marched in, his face red and sweating. "Liana! Tell me your
