CHAPTER HUNDRED AND ONEJacob sighed softly, feeling that there was still a little hope for him to be alive. He nodded and managed to look Desmond in the eyes, but he could only stare for a couple of seconds before he succumbed to the fury burning in his eyes.“I will do whatever you want me to do, Sir! Just mention it!” He repeated, panting frantically.Desmond sniggered. “I know.” He grinned, his voice barely above a whisper. He paused for a few seconds, looking to his left and then to his right. Then he turned to Hilary, snarling at him.“Let’s start with this fellow right here. I need you to grab him and beat him up for his insolence. The number of punches and slaps you give to him shall determine the number of punches and slaps that will be left for me to give to you.”Jacob gasped, swallowing hard again. He turned to Hilary, pointed to him, and stuttered. “You want me to beat him up, Sir?”“Did I stutter?” Desmond growled, prompting him to shake his head frantically.“No, Sir! CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWO “Did you miss me?!” The woman in shiny black pants and a long brown jacket sniggered, spreading her arms while she looked Desmond in the eyes. She was more than an enchantress, her long silver hair hanging over her shoulders. As she moved toward Desmond, she held onto her smile, pacing up after a while.“I thought they were wrong when they told me that you were back to Hillcrest, my love.” She chuckled coyly, and then she stood in front of Desmond.“Welcome back, my love.” She looked Desmond in the eyes, finding delight in his presence. There was just two inches of space between them, and she covered it at once, wrapping her arms around Desmond. She grabbed his head, and then she kissed his two cheeks, holding onto her smile.“Oh, my dear Desmond! How I have missed you!” She kept on looking into Desmond’s eyes like her life depended on it.“I love the look on your face, Desmond. You seem really happy to see me.”“On the contrary, Juliana.” Desmond found his v

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND THREE Desmond turned to Juliana at once, his eyes flaming with annoyance, inflamed by the memories that crawled into him.Juliana quickly looked away, unable to keep on looking into his eyes.“I am sorry, Desmond.” She sighed heavily, keeping her eyes on the road. “I didn’t mean to remind you of the past.” She muttered, but Desmond said nothing to her.Silence crept into the car, but it didn’t seem like she wanted it to endure. She kept on pondering what to say to discard it, and was almost about to give up when an idea hit her mind, causing her to smile.“Desmond?” She turned to him, but he didn’t seem like he was paying attention.“Desmond?” She called out again, causing him to look at her slowly, inquisition etched on his face.Juliana took a deep breath, and then she searched for the right words to say, looking a bit confused and uncertain.“My father would be so delighted to see you.” Her smile brightened, but the moment she had waited for a while for Desmo

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FOUR Desmond was forced to hold onto the seat, and then he turned to Juliana, his eyes piercing with annoyance.“Why did you stop in the middle of the road, Juliana? Are you trying to get us killed?” Her face twisted, sparking with annoyance.Juliana said nothing. She just stared like she was looking at the cars moving in front of her, her ears completely blocked from the blaring horns of the angry drivers behind her.“Drive, your bitch!” One of them cursed impatiently, and so did many others.Desmond looked back, and seeing the line like a reptile, he quickly poked Juliana gently, drawing her immediate attention.“I think you should drive, Juliana. We have kept them at a spot for a very long time.” He was beginning to regret why he agreed to get into the car, completely unready for that long episode.“Juliana? Did you hear me?” He said, after waiting to get a response for over five seconds, prepared to move the car himself if Juliana refused to do so.Eventually

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FIVE “Aaron?” She muttered, her chest tightening like it was about to explode. Her heart was beating like a racing horse, and she slammed the brakes at once. But it was already too late; she had stopped the car right in the middle of the three cars, right where they wanted her to be.She wished she had listened to Desmond, turning to him slowly.“You have to do something, Desmond! I don’t want him to take me!” She pleaded, shedding tears.Slowly, she returned her gaze to the man who had alighted from one of the cars, and seeing that he was marching toward her car, her panic increased, and she turned to Desmond again, panting for air.“Call the police, Desmond! Tell them that someone is about to drag me out of the car and force me to go with him!”Desmond was focused, and in order to get a little closure, he turned to look at the strange man who was causing all that drama. He didn’t know who the young man of the same age bracket as him was, but he could tell that

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND SIXElias felt an intense rage surging through his nerves. He slowly took down the phone, and then he ended it.The moment he returned it to his pocket, he took a deep breath, turning to the head of the guard.“I beg you, my friend. Ask your men to leave the road so that we can drive through.” He said with the most polite tone he could think of, feeling the rage burning inside him.He felt his chest tightening, and wished that he wasn’t going to have to do anything violent. He remained silent but impatient, watching as the guard drew closer to him until there was just about two inches space between them. The guard snorted, his eyes glowing with arrogance and disdain. He looked at Elias again, and with a low tone, he blurted,“What if I say no?”Slap! Punches!Another slap! And a kick that sent him to the ground, knocking him out instantly.Elias roared, grabbing the two guards who had tried to get to the man hiding behind him.He jammed their heads together, and w

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND SEVEN Slowly, Juliana turned to look at Desmond, and after a while, she returned her gaze to Aaron, her eyes red from shedding tears.“What do you want him to do, Aaron. Just mention it, he will do it.” She was caressing Aaron’s ego, and knowing this, Desmond was furious.“She is aiding him to misbehave.” He grunted, raging deep inside.Aaron nodded, turning to him with a sinister smile spread all over his face.He could still see the cold stare on Desmond’s face, but whatever feeling was going on inside him couldn’t let him concentrate. He returned his gaze to Juliana, and with a very audible tone, he said, “Tell your boy toy to get down on his knees, draw closer to me and grovel at my feet! He will kiss my boots even though he doesn’t deserve to get close to me, begging for mercy!” Anger rippled through Desmond’s veins as soon as he heard the condition from Aaron.Worst still, Juliana had turned to him, and it seemed like she was urging him to do it.“Get on

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND EIGHT No one could really understand what had happened, especially since they didn’t see it.They looked at each other to be certain that they had seen the same thing, completely shocked.“How did he do that?” Juliana muttered, but she couldn’t even catch her breath as Aaron held onto her tightly, forcing her to look at what was going on.Desmond was engulfed by an intense rage, and since the flames on the swords had gone off, it seemed like the ninjas had lost their defense, but they were eager to get them flaming again. Before that could happen, Desmond had already grabbed one of them, and as soon as he disarmed him, he dragged out the piece of black cloth used to conceal his identity, and when he saw his face, he nodded.“It was you!” He growled, his anger increasing. The ninja was confused, and even though he still didn’t know what Desmond was talking about, he seemed to be more interested in breaking free from Desmond’s hold. His brothers were still busy try

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND NINE As soon as he dropped the sword, Desmond turned to Juliana, taking a deep breath. He saw that she was still held by Aaron, and this made him very angry.“Let her go.” He said calmly, but Aaron had already taken her as leverage, holding onto her while he kept his eyes on Desmond.Juliana sniffled, whimpering while she tried to catch her breath. She looked down at the bodies lying still in their pool of blood, and even though she was shocked, that didn’t seem like it was more important than her life.Aaron had no weapon, but his hold seemed like it was draining life out of her.“Stay where you are! Don’t come close!” Aaron barked when he saw that Desmond had taken another step, his body drenched with sweat.“Who did you say that fellow was?” He whispered to Juliana, but she was too flustered to even give him a response, especially with the way he was holding her.She just wanted him to let go of her, whimpering while she was still attempting to catch her breat

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TEN “The same thing you asked those dead ninjas to do with it...” Desmond gave him a very quick response that made him gasp.Aaron could no longer move, panting for air while his wide eyes remained fixed on the sword. He saw his life flashing right before his eyes, and worst still, Desmond had already lifted the sword, ready to end his life.“I am going to make this quick and silent.” Desmond threatened, but before he could take a strike, Juliana was already standing between him and Aaron with tears in her eyes.Desmond grunted, looking at her with a twisted expression.“What are you doing, Juliana? Out of the way so that I can finish off that moron!”“No, please!” Juliana cried, lifting both hands. When she felt the pain in her joint, she was forced to lower her right hand and then her left.“Don’t kill him, Desmond! I beg you!”“Why not?!” Desmond growled, fuming impatiently.“Because…!” Juliana paused, seeming like the words had been stuck between her lips.De
