CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY-ONE Fiona took a deep breath, and after a few seconds, she cleared her throat, eyes still fixed on Elias. “When you said Lance, do you mean Lance Avert?” “Yes! Exactly!” Elias nodded with a smile.“That’s the man I am here to see.” He sighed heavily, nodding in satisfaction.“This makes my mission very easy. I am glad I bumped into the two of you.” He looked at the couple who were forced to exchange glances at each other, their eyes still wide with curiosity. “What do you mean by that?” Jonah asked the question that he was getting ready to ask, his eyes still wide with curiosity. He slowly turned to his wife, and even though she was silent, he could see that she was close to desperate about finding out what someone as irrelevant as Elias wanted to see her father.“Go ahead. Answer the goddamn question!” Fiona urged, getting rid of the urge to have Elias leave the premises. This time, it was no longer about him walking away with his lowly self, but about

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY-TWO For two seconds, Fiona was busy looking for apprehension in Elias’s eyes, but it didn’t seem like it was ever going to show. “Maybe I should tell them to come pick you up and take you to my father. That will be after they have beaten you up.” She changed her mind again, but this time, Elias scoffed. That was not the reaction she was looking for.Unable to find fear in Elias’s eyes, she stared at him with wide eyes, several thoughts running through her mind.“I am sure you don’t understand what is going on.” She said calmly, and then she cleared her throat, listening to the ringing sound from the speakers of her phone. “You should call your father, instead,” Elias said, taking a deep breath. “I am sure that once he gets here, he will be able to handle things better. Don’t you think so?” “You don’t tell me what to do!” Fiona pointed to his face, and then she grunted, still focused on the call she was making. “Take your damn call!” She growled, takin

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-THREE Fiona laughed as soon as she saw the guards, turning to Elias with a sneer. “You are in a big mess!” She sniggered, inching a bit closer to him.“Let’s see who is going to be mourned between you and my father. I hope your mother is still alive. She will be meeting the dead body of her son in pieces today.” Slowly, Fiona turned to the guards, and then she waited for them to get closer.“I came as soon as I could, Miss Avert!” Their leader bowed, holding onto his dagger. He was tall, huge, and had a patch covering his right eye, evidence of his long years of getting involved in violence. He had not seen Elias before, but he could tell from the countenance etched all over Fiona’s face that he was the one that she was talking about. “Is this the idiot that wishes death upon himself?!” He asked, pointing to Elias with his dagger. “Yes, Jabil.” Fiona nodded, also staring at Elias with flaming orbs. “I want you and your men to teach him a lesson

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FOUR Elias looked down at Jabil for a while, and then he took a deep breath, taking to steps closer to him.“I beg you, Sir! Don’t kill me!” Jabil whimpered, thinking that Elias was about to slay him as soon as he heard the sound of his footsteps. He was shivering, refusing to lift his head even though the blood had started on his forehead and was still moving toward his eyes. “Get up,” Elias said to him, but he wasn’t sure that was a good idea. “I don’t deserve to look you in the eyes, Sir! I am very scared!”“I said you should stand!” Elias roared, losing his patience. Jabil was forced to push himself up, taking a deep breath. While he remained on his knees, he was still whimpering, unable to imagine the things that could happen to him if he got Elias pissed off. “On your feet…” Elias said with a low but very imperative tone, causing Jabil to force himself to his feet. He looked at him for a few seconds, and then he cleared his throat, inching clos

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE Jabil gasped as soon as he saw his cohorts, turning to Elias who was already glaring at him.“I swear, I didn’t tell them!” He said, losing his breath. Perspiration had soaked his dress, his eyes widened as he staggered backward, uncertain if he was meant to face the Grandmaster or the armed guards standing before them. “I am telling the truth, Sir! I didn’t tell anyone anything! I swear!” Jabil pinned himself to the wall, turning to his fierce cohorts as though he was about to beg them to tell Elias that he was unaware of their emergence. The fifteen men stared at him with wide eyes, wondering why he seemed so afraid of one man. “This is not going to end well, guys.” He warned, but they scoffed, laughing at him.“What’s happening to you, Jabil?” One of the men in front asked, turning to Elias with a scowl. “Don’t tell me that you are scared of this fellow.” He took two steps toward the entrance of the elevator, his eyes glaring at Elias, laced wi

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SIX “Venom?” Jabil gasped, and then he swallowed hard, turning to Elias, who was calm, unlike the kind of reaction he was expecting to see on his face. The man in military trousers was a menace, tall, huge, and with brutal scars all over his chest. His eyes were dark, his teeth sharp and long, as if he were a cannibal. He was unarmed, but it seemed as though he didn’t need anything because he looked like a weapon itself, a human weapon. His bald head shined brightly under the chandelier hanging above him, still decorated by scars from his years of violence. Jabil was forced to step aside, looking from Elias and then to Venom, wondering who was going to win between them. He was not certain that he wanted to see the violence, but at that moment, it really didn’t look like he was left with any choice. His heart was pounding violently, and turning to Venom, he gulped down noisily for the umpteenth time, but solace was very far from him.“You killed all

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SEVEN “No,” Fiona gasped, her breath shaking as she looked at the cold guards lying in their pool of blood. Stepping over them, she held her breath, tears flowing from her eyes. But she was not prepared for what was waiting for her in front. It seemed as though her vision was blurry at first, but it didn’t take so much time for her to see Venom gaging blood while he tried to hold onto what was left of his life. Fiona screamed, covering her mouth with both hands. She refused to make any move, and soon, her husband came running out of the elevator. “What the hell?!” Jonah gasped as soon as he saw the dead men, his eyes trailing the blood all over the floor. “Fiona?” He called out, turning to his wife. “I think you should stay there. Don’t move.” He was very concerned from the moment he saw Venom, realizing that the defense that they thought they had was not enough of an obstacle for Elias. At that moment when so much tension was hanging in the air, Ve

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY-EIGHT “Don’t make me ask again, old man!” Elias took a deep breath, and then he stopped when he considered himself close enough. He was wary of the old man, convinced that he could not have left himself completely unguarded.“Are you Lance Avert?”“Who is asking?” The old man finally broke his silence, but he still refused to turn around to look at Elias. He took a sip of his liquor, and then he smacked, groaning at what seemed like pain. “You seem like a very special man. You got through my security. No one has ever done that. I am very impressed.” He took another sip, and then he dropped the glass on the table without finishing the drink. His eyes turned to the window by his right, and he reclined in the chair, exhaling sharply. Elias did not need to ask the question again. That was the man he was looking for, and he was ready to accomplish his mission. “Turn around.” He said calmly, but Lance refused to obey him, seated silent and immovable. Elias gr

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY-NINE As soon as she saw that her father was still alive, Fiona sighed heavily, but that didn’t mean that it was all over, especially since Elias was still holding onto his rage and his dagger. “Father? Are you okay?” She turned to Lance, her eyes scouring all over his body. She thought of going closer to her father, but with Elias on the way, that certainly didn’t feel like a good idea. “I am fine, Baby.” Lance finally responded, but his shaky voice was saying something else. “I was just having a word with Elias here.” He turned to the Godfather, staring at him with a wry smile.“He is quite a charming young man, isn’t he?” He turned to his daughter, but she didn’t seem like she was concerned about any other thing except his safety, tears flowing from her eyes.“Don’t cry, Fiona,” Lance said silently, replacing his wry smile with a gloom. “I have always known that this day was going to come.” Lance returned his gaze to Elias, and then he took a deep br

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND THIRTYLance took a deep breath, and after observing Elias for a few seconds, he nodded in satisfaction.“That must be the poison kicking in.” He sniggered, watching as Elias struggled with his breath, his eyes crawling into his head. The Godfather held onto his chest with his left hand, and then he began to struggle to keep on standing, his vision becoming very blurry. Lance stood up, and then he took two steps forward. He was wary of the dagger in Elias’s hand, causing him to keep his distance.Elias coughed and wheezed, and soon, he was on his knees, but it didn’t seem like anything could make him let go of the dagger. He looked at Lance with fire in his eyes, growling at him.“You bastard! How dare you?!!”“Because I can…” Lance laughed hystMorganally, and then her turned to his daughter, who was shocked just as her husband.“Come, Baby. Come to Daddy,” He said, but Fiona was afraid, even though Elias was on the floor, trying to push himself up. “Don’t worry
