Daniel's mother Lisa Hayes had woken up very early to make breakfast for the family. Given the conversation she had with Theresa the night before she was now determined to do everything possible to get on her good side. That way she would not have to leave. She had already decided she was going to make sandwiches and coffee alongside some scrambled eggs. But Maya had woken up just a few minutes after she had gotten started in the kitchen."Good morning mom." She spoke nonchalantly. "The room I spent the night in. I do not like it and I hope you can speak to Daniel and his wife about upgrading us to something better.""You fool. You should be praying we get to stay and do not get kicked out." Lisa cursed under her breath as she continued with what she was doing without paying Maya any further attention. But when she turned around again she saw Maya whisking some eggs."Maya. What are you doing.""I am craving butter cake and I want to make some.""Can you not see that I am using the ki

Daniel stood outside on the busy street. He had not been there long when the car drove up and came to a halt in front of him."Good morning Boss." Viper greeted but Daniel did not reply. Given everything that had happened at home that morning he was already in a very bad mood and had no desire to engage in conversation.Viper could see that clearly enough from a brief glance through the rear mirror and did not push for any conversation."Viper." Daniel called after they had been driving for a while."Yes Boss.""Find me a small apartment that is ready to move into and have it ready by the end of today. Can you handle that.""Of course. I will make some calls and have it arranged."That was all Daniel said for the rest of the drive. The car eventually came to a halt in front of Coast City Hospital. Daniel got out and went inside. After a while he came back out and got into the car again."Take me to the restaurant where Mr. Gerald Osei is having his breakfast. Let us go and crash the p

As Daniel stepped into the grand and luxurious restaurant, the security stood at the door, and by the other side was a very pretty female attendant who seemed to be in her early twenties, dressed in a tight-fitted shirt and skirt that was above her knee."Good morning, sir!" she greeted as her face broke into a smile. "Do you have a reservation, sir?""No, but I am meeting up with a friend, and I would like to know if it's possible for us to have a table since we don't have a reservation?""Most of our tables are usually full, but I will go ahead and check quickly if there was anyone that cancelled, and if there is, I would inform you""Thank you. Please do," he told her with a smile on his face, and as she walked away, his eyes slowly began to scan the entire place. At the large entrance were two security guards, by the left leading to a stair was one security guard, and by the right was the reception table. His eyes went straight to the front where so many tables were set up, and ev

Daniel knew this was a very delicate moment. The system had given him all the information he needed. Now it was time to make use of it.He opened his mouth to speak trying to go straight to the point and hoping that would work. But just then his eyes landed briefly on Gerald's son Andrew. He had not looked at him properly since he came in. But now he could see how pale the boy's eyes were with a strain of veins visible at the back of his neck. There was no denying that he was sick. The specific symptoms were still something Daniel had not fully identified yet."How long has it been for him.""What are you talking about. I told you to leave before I called security and you think I have time to listen to whatever garbage you have come here to say. I am going to ask you one more time and I am only asking once. Leave."Daniel rose to his feet raising his hands in surrender."Fine. I am going to leave. I mean no harm.""Yes you do. The fact that you barged in here the moment my son and I a

A smile spread across Daniel's face like he knew exactly what to do."Mr. Gerald. With this situation right now I do not think Doctor Hale can help you. Everything you saw in that video was done by me and not Doctor Hale."He informed him and a frown immediately spread across the older man's face."Are you trying to take credit for another man's work just because you need a favor from me.""I know that you have already guessed I need something from you. That is why I came here. But that is not a reason for me to claim to be something I am not.""Then please just help me. Get me access to Doctor Hale. That is all I am asking."Daniel could see the desperation in his eyes. He could tell that this sickness his son was going through had been weighing on Gerald far longer than it had been weighing on the boy himself. And now Daniel was beginning to understand why the atmosphere had been so heavy the moment he walked in."Fine. I am going to help you. How about I give you Doctor Hale's priv

Daniel hesitated for a moment like he needed to think his words through carefully before speaking again."Very well then. I will get back to you with the day I would be available for the diagnosis.""Thank you sir. But sir the patient has a terminal illness and the more we wait the more complicated it is going to become.""I understand." Daniel told him and ended the call. In truth Daniel knew fully well that Hale was only trying to rush the situation so he could get the money he was hoping to collect.Once the call ended Daniel walked back to the father and son who both had a glimmer of hope in their eyes. As he sat down their gaze fixed on him immediately."What did he say." Gerald asked but Daniel cleared his throat ready for an entirely different conversation."Listen Mr. Osei. I am going to help you and your son. First what day would work best for you to meet with Doctor Hale. I promise to make it happen as long as you agree to help me in return."Gerald looked briefly at his son

Theresa sat on the large armchair in her office, her eyes fixed on the computer, which she had been buried in since the day began.Since she had been handed the City View contract, Theresa had been doing everything in her power trying to make sure that the job was going very smoothly, and just yesterday, her team had concluded the first phase of the construction, which Theresa herself had supervised all the way down.By the time she was done sketching out the next phase, which she was going to be submitting to the board by morning, Theresa finally rose to her feet, stretching out her exhausted body. The only thing that she could think of at this moment was Daniel's home-cooked meal. Just then a call came through her phone. At first, she thought that it was certainly Daniel, especially since she had stayed at the office late, but staring down at the phone and seeing it was the project director, she exhaled deeply, knowing she couldn't handle anything else right now."Hello, John, it's

By the time Daniel and Theresa arrived at the scene, the press had already covered the entire area. Calls kept coming in but Theresa could not answer any of them at that moment.Once she was able to push through the press with the help of the police and her security team the project manager was already at the building waiting for her."Ma'am." He called softly handing her a phone. "Here. It is Lord Zane. He has been on the line for a while now and wants to speak with you."Theresa accepted the phone but her hands were trembling as she did."Hello. Uncle.""Do not dare use that word with me. I am not your uncle at this moment." He barked at her. It was only natural that in a moment like this everyone would want to protect themselves but she had not expected him to be this harsh with her."Why would you say such a thing.""You know fully well that this was a favor I granted your husband for your sake. There were other companies fully capable of handling this.""Uncle. I am fully capable

James Ferguson sat in the large armchair in his living room holding a glass of wine at the tips of his fingers. His eyes were fixed on nothing in particular yet the excitement behind them could not be mistaken. Just then a knock came through. It was Aurora. "Father. Have you seen the news regarding the City View project." There was no response from him and she immediately took his silence as a yes. "I know you are behind it." She continued while the old man sipped from his glass of wine. Then another knock at the door as Marshall, James's right hand man, walked in. "How is it going." James spoke up almost immediately like that was exactly what he had been waiting for. "Just as expected. Theresa was at the site today along with some of her workers. And according to our inside source Lord Zane has distanced himself from

Theresa had just stepped out of the shower when the door swung open with Daniel carrying a tray."You are awake already." He placed the breakfast on the table surprised to see she was already ready for the day."Yes. I could not get much sleep and of course I have to get ready for whatever today decides to bring."Her expression was calm. Like the pain and anger she had been carrying the night before had all faded away.Without saying another word she settled onto the bed and began eating. Daniel sat quietly watching her expression. Once she had eaten half the meal he cleared his throat."Theresa." He called and she made a sound to let him know she was listening."How do you intend to handle the situation today. Because I am certain the press will be all over your office by now.""I know. I intend to use the back entrance. And as for how I intend to handle it honestly speaking I have no idea yet. I just have to go through the materials used again even though I already supervised them
