A MYSTERIOUS DISCOVERY
“Lol, am I dreaming? If not, how did these seeds grow overnight?” Xavier murmured as he stood inside his space, staring at the small plants in front of him.The curiosity about the space had been on his mind since he returned from the Genesis facility. He had already stored enough supplies to keep him prepared for a long time, but the discovery of the land and pond inside his space had given him another possibility.Food.If he could grow crops here, he would not have to depend entirely on the supplies he had collected. The previous night, after returning to the hotel, Xavier had ordered several types of seeds. He chose a few varieties of ordinary vegetable seeds so he could compare their growth and planted them in different parts of the land. At the time, nothing unusual had happened. The soil had looked normal, and the seeds had remained buried beneath it.Now, less than a day later, small green plants had pushed through the soil.Xavier crouched beside them and examined the leaves.
GENESIS'S BILLION-DOLLAR LOSS
“Could these crystals have anything to do with what happened to my body or those plants?” Xavier murmured as he sat at the desk in his hotel room, staring at the laptop screen. The question had been bothering him ever since he discovered the extraordinary growth of plants and strange sparkling crystals in the pond.He had already confirmed that the water was not ordinary. It had improved his strength, reduced his exhaustion, and even healed the scars that had remained on his body for years. The plants he had grown had also developed far faster than they should have. The crystals beneath the pond seemed to be the source of it all. What Xavier couldn't understand was why such a strange thing existed inside his space. He opened another search page and began looking through articles related to unusual minerals, naturally occurring crystals, medicinal water and accelerated plant growth. He searched through scientific journals, old research papers and archived news reports, hoping to find s
THE COMING COLD WAVE
“Did you really finish all of this already?” Xavier asked as he stepped through the main entrance of the newly renovated property.Kate turned toward him with a pleased smile and walked over to greet him. “Most of it is finished, Boss. The remaining work is mainly small adjustments, and everything important is already in place.”Xavier glanced around the entrance before walking farther inside. The property looked completely different from the first time he had seen it. The old furniture had been removed, the walls had been reinforced, and the electrical system had been upgraded to support the backup generators and other equipment.Kate followed him through the house while giving him a quick update on the work.“The security cameras are connected to the central system, and the backup power can keep the important areas running even if the main electricity goes out,” she explained. “The water storage tanks have also been installed, and the underground storage rooms are ready.”Xavier nod
THE OUTBREAK HAS ALREADY BEGUN
“Did you ever see anything like this before?” Elena asked through the phone, her voice unusually serious.Xavier was sitting at the desk in his hotel room, reviewing the latest reports about Genesis when a video appeared on his laptop. He opened the file Elena had sent. The footage showed a laboratory filled with researchers wearing protective clothing. Several people were standing behind a glass partition while a man sat restrained inside a medical chamber.Xavier watched the first few seconds without much reaction. The subject appeared to be conscious. His hands were secured to the sides of the chair, and several medical sensors were attached to his body. Then his condition changed, while his body began shaking violently. One of the researchers moved toward the chamber and checked the monitors while another adjusted the equipment. The subject suddenly lifted his head. His breathing became rapid, and his eyes moved around the room without focusing on anyone.Xavier leaned closer to t
THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT
“Four days ago.”Xavier's eyes narrowed.Four days. That was much earlier than anything Xavier remembered. He could not understand what was causing the pandemic to develop so soon. He opened the calendar on his laptop and checked the current date, comparing it with the timeline he had remembered from his previous life. The timeline he had once trusted suddenly felt unreliable. He had believed he had roughly three months to prepare because that was how much time he remembered having before the first major outbreak. But the world around him had already begun changing.Genesis was conducting experiments earlier, while the serum was producing dangerous mutations earlier, and the transformation was happening much faster.Xavier closed the calendar and questioned. “Apart from this, have you found anything else?”“Yes,” Elena answered. “That's why I called you instead of simply sending the video.”She paused briefly before continuing.“Genesis has started increasing security around several l
WHERE ARE YOU?
“Why does Genesis Bioengineering Group want to speak to me again?”Selene sat across from her legal team, staring at the documents spread across the conference table. The same company that had contacted her before had now sent another formal notice, and this time the tone was far more serious. Her lawyer adjusted his glasses before responding. “They are no longer treating this as a simple dispute involving Horizon Technologies. Their legal department wants to know how those photographs were obtained, who took them, and why they were published, especially with what intentions they were published.” Selene frowned as she picked up one of the photographs. The image showed Xavier talking to one of the well known black market suppliers, though the building itself was partially hidden in the background. However, no one was focusing on Xavier or the black-market supplier. Everyone's attention was fixed on the Genesis facility visible in the photograph.“I already told you that I didn't know
THE INVESTIGATOR IS DEAD
George shifted in his chair as Selene continued staring at him.“You hired the investigator,” Selene accused, her voice filled with suspicion. “When you're the one who hired him don't you have basic responsibility to know about his background?” “I didn't hire him because of his background or any other reasons,” George sighed, trying to distance himself from the situation.“You arranged for him to follow Xavier,” Selene pointed out.George rubbed his forehead and tried to calm her down. “Sister Selene, you're making this bigger than it is. Fine, I hired him to follow brother Xavier, he took some photographs, and that's all. Genesis is angry because those photographs exposed something they don't want people seeing, but neither our target nor our intentions are connected or related to Genesis, they're unnecessarily expressing their anger on us.” “But the situation is worrying me more than you can imagine,” Selene replied, her voice becoming more serious.George frowned as he watched he
THE BIDDING WAR
“Are you certain you want to attend this auction, Boss? You already have several suppliers handling your purchases, and I thought you were planning to visit the property today.” Kate's question came through the phone while Xavier reviewed the auction catalogue on his laptop. He had received an invitation through one of his business contacts, and several items listed in the catalogue had caught his attention. “I've already checked the catalogue, Kate. There are a few things I want to buy, and some of them aren't easy to obtain through ordinary suppliers,” Xavier answered. “I'll visit the property tomorrow instead. You can continue with the remaining work today.” “All right, Boss. I'll send you the updated list of purchases before the evening,” Kate promised before ending the call. Xavier returned his attention to the catalogue. The private auction was scheduled for that afternoon, and the available lots included industrial equipment, scientific instruments, rare minerals, and goods
I'LL HAVE TO EXAMINE MYSELF
“The containers are listed as sealed in the inventory, sir, but the auction house hasn't independently tested their contents. You'll receive all the available records along with the lot,” the auction representative informed Xavier.“Are there any restrictions on transportation?” Xavier asked, wanting to make sure he wouldn't encounter problems when moving the supplies to his basement.“Some items may require special handling, depending on their contents. The inventory documents will specify the relevant requirements,” the representative confirmed with a polite smile.Xavier reviewed the catalogue once more before placing his bid. He wasn't interested in purchasing unknown chemicals without proper documentation, but the protective equipment, storage cases, and other supplies made the lot worth considering. Another buyer joined the bidding, but Xavier secured the collection after raising his offer, then instructed the staff to keep it separate until the contents and transportation requi
THE FIRST SNOWFALL
“Boss, are you seriously going to sit there drinking coffee while it's snowing outside?” Kate asked as she entered the living room, carrying a tablet and a folder of documents.Xavier glanced at the snow falling beyond the large windows before taking another sip of his coffee. “Would you prefer that I stand outside and freeze with everyone else?”“That's not what I meant, but this weather makes no sense,” Kate replied as she approached the sofa. “The forecast yesterday showed ordinary temperatures for this time of year, and now there's a cold wind and snowfall. I checked three different weather channels, and none of them predicted this.”“Perhaps the weather has decided to surprise everyone,” Xavier remarked, setting his coffee cup on the table.Kate gave him an unconvinced look before settling into the chair opposite him. The sudden change had caught her off guard, especially because Xavier had been preparing for winter long before anyone expected it. At the time, she had assumed he
