Monsters and artifacts discovered in dungeons were divided into seven grades, with the first grade being the highest and the seventh being the lowest. The monsters released into the wilderness were all seventh grade, the lowest classification, and they were considered opponents that an average Force User should be capable of handling. The problem was that not every child in the group was average. Most of them were actually below that standard. The team Aeger had assembled had already ambushed several monsters. They would surround their targets, force them in a particular direction, and chase them toward a clearing where Aeger would be waiting.Once the monsters arrived, Aeger would finish them himself and use the opportunity to display his strength before his new subordinates. To be honest, Aeger’s abilities were just as impressive as his sister’s. He possessed the Force Slash as well, and none of his children could match his speed.Quinn had to admit that much as he strode into the c

The arena fell completely silent. It was so quiet that it seemed everyone had stopped breathing as they turned toward Arthur on his throne. The man leaned forward, gripping the handles of his chair so tightly that the metal began to bend beneath his fingers. His attention remained fixed on the projection in the center of the arena, particularly on the severed head of Aeger that Quinn had raised into the air like a challenge. Several emotions crossed Arthur’s face. There was curiosity, a trace of joy, and even a little pity. “Is this the real child of the Dragon?” Only then did the lords and nobles finally breathe again. They had never seen or even heard of a bastard defeating and killing a legitimate Drakemont before. Yet Quinn had done exactly that in the span of a few minutes. He had completely suppressed one of the family’s children and killed another, proving himself to be the stronger of them. Below the throne, Isolde blinked slowly. She showed little emotion at firs

His mind screamed at him.Dodge! Twist! Roll!Quinn’s sword was already moving to deflect the incoming arrow, but doing so left his left side completely exposed. The construct had another sword in its hand, and its blade was already aimed directly at his ribs. One advantage of being weak, if Quinn had to name one, was that weakness forced a person to become creative. Anyone who wanted to stay alive had to find ways to overcome what their body could not do.A burst of Force from Quinn’s legs sent him flying upward just as the construct’s blazing sword swept through the space where he had been standing. While still in the air, Quinn twisted his body and sent a Force Slash downward. The construct immediately jumped back while bringing its own sword upward.Clang! The two blades collided with enough force to send a harsh vibration through Quinn’s arms.“You’re tough,” Quinn muttered as he landed again, barely paying attention to the painful vibration running through his bones. The constru

The first thing Quinn did was harvest all eight Blood Fruits and arrange them in front of himself. Once they were gathered, he sat down and began to eat.The first taste was something he could not properly describe. The Blood Fruits were sweet and bitter at the same time, with a sharp flavor that seemed to linger on his tongue in a way he could not quite identify. He ate two of them almost immediately.“Huh? Isn’t this supposed to work and expand my Domain somehow?”Quinn sat cross-legged with the remaining fruits before him, trying to figure out what he had done wrong. This was the first time he had eaten Blood Fruits in either of his lives, so he had no previous experience to compare it with.“Maybe I’m missing something or!”Without warning, something like a fire pit opened inside his body.Lightning replaced his blood.Quinn jerked violently as every muscle in his body locked at once. His pores opened, and brilliant light began pouring from his skin. His eyes burned with an intens

“Taurus,” Quinn said. The boy was large for his age, with unusually long limbs and a body that already hinted at the strength he would possess in the future. His narrowed eyes remained fixed on Freya.“Don’t eat that!”His right hand reached down and seized one of the swords he had been dragging behind him. He lifted it casually, his shoulder flexing for an instant, and then threw it without any obvious display of strength.Whoosh! Clang! The sword shot forward like an arrow, moving so quickly that it seemed to vanish from sight.Freya tried to move aside, but her injured shoulder and wounded leg made it impossible for her to react quickly enough. The sword was heading straight for her head when another blade suddenly appeared and knocked it away as easily as swatting aside a branch.“Taurus,” Quinn repeated. “This girl is now my instrument, do you want to kill her?”Taurus stared at him.“How do you know my name?”Taurus of the Flaming Swords.Quinn knew about him from his previous l

It did not take long for the remaining children to be brought back to the arena.Of the more than two hundred children who had entered the forest, fewer than thirty had survived. Those who were injured received treatment, and food was provided for everyone who remained. Under normal circumstances, Arthur would have turned the occasion into a celebration. The return of the survivors should have been followed by a grand feast. This time, however, Arthur remained strangely quiet.A massive projection occupied almost half of the sky above the arena, displaying the rankings of the children according to their overall performance during the rite.Quinn was ranked first. The next ranking did not begin until fifth place, where Taurus had been placed, followed by Canute and then Freya. Everyone else was left without a ranking.“I guess I didn’t do too badly,” Quinn said.In his previous life, he had not even been ranked. This was the first time he had ever seen his name at the very top of a lis

The boy who had spoken was from one of the lesser noble families that had participated in the rite. Like the other surviving children, he had been selected to remain at the outpost and continue training until they were ready for the second rite.He had not come alone.Three other children stood behind him, all glaring at Quinn with obvious hostility. Farther away, several more of the surviving children had stopped to see what would happen. Judging by their clothes and bearing, they belonged to families even lower in the Drakemont hierarchy than the boy in front. The lead boy stepped closer and pointed a finger directly at Quinn’s face, bringing it so close that it looked as though he intended to poke him in the eye.Quinn caught his hand.He sighed.Quinn could fight all day if necessary, but he saw little value in fighting people who were so much weaker than him. When he had been the weaker one, he had never gone around provoking people who could easily kill him either. It was simply

Quinn spent his childhood training. If it could even be called childhood. In truth, none of the children at the Blood Heart Outpost could really be described as ordinary children. They were young Dragons, raised in an environment where weakness could get them killed and where the expectations placed upon them were far beyond what most children could bear.Their innocence had been worn away by the brutality of the world around them. For Quinn, it was even worse. He had already seen the future. He knew exactly how cruel the world could become and how little mercy it would show to those who were unprepared. The purpose of the outpost was simple. It existed to defend the Blood Heart Tree and protect the surrounding territory from the monsters that roamed the wilderness. Occasionally, orcs from the northernmost regions would also venture into the area, giving the children and knights regular opportunities to encounter real enemies. For Quinn, the outpost provided everything he needed. So h

Quinn’s previous life had been defined by caution. As a weak person, he had been forced to rely on everything available to him to stay alive. He learned to observe people, notice small details, calculate his options quickly, and make the right choice before it was too late. That habit had never left him.So when Quinn saw the knights earlier, he immediately noticed several things that did not make sense. The first was their appearance. All of them looked slightly disheveled, as though they had put on their uniforms in a hurry. Some even had leaves and small splinters caught on their clothes. There was also mud on their shoes. Not ordinary dirt from traveling along the road, but thick mud that covered the soles as though they had recently left the main road and passed through a much wetter area. But what truly put Quinn on alert was the blood. It was carefully concealed, appearing only as tiny splashes here and there on their clothing and equipment.Quinn’s expression tightened.“They

Quinn’s frown deepened as he stepped out of the carriage.“I am simply sad that I won’t have the opportunity to apologize, but then again, you are the one that killed him.”The Knight stared at him with confusion. After a moment, he shrugged. His expression became cold as he raised the hand covered in deadly acid and casually rubbed his chin.“You are the only red-eyed bastard here.”The other three Knights moved over and joined him.All four stared at Quinn. There was no amusement in their expressions now. No trace of a smile remained. They looked at him with nothing but hostility.Quinn raised a hand, his face twisting into a slight grimace.“Is there something wrong with the carriage? Is that why you called us out?”One of the Knights glanced down at the body lying on the ground. Blood and fleshy remains were still dripping into the leafy forest floor. He then looked back at Quinn and snorted.“I heard you are a cold bastard, but I didn’t think you would be like this.“You Drakemon
