Miles seemed quite annoyed today. He had already visited several of his business contacts to invest in one of the mega-projects he was planning to rival Daren's. He couldn't bear the thought of Daren being given so much more prominence than the others, or even the entire Hoodie family.

Daren was just a son-in-law, an outsider, and Miles would never accept that.

Because in his eyes, Daren was just a poor man picked up by one of the Hoodies to be their husband, nothing more.

"Damn!" Miles said.

"I can't lose to that poor, shameless man, and I won't let my grandmother choose him over me. Besides, I'm sure there are many things in life that will make me think twice, and I'll make sure they'll be humiliated in front of me. Daren, I won't let you get away with this."

Honestly, this was a strange situation, and Miles was still curious.

How could he not?

Suddenly, Daren had become a superhero in his family's business and seemed to know everything. Miles knew and was certain that before he married and joined the Hoodie family, Daren was just a poor man who worked odd jobs for a meager wage, meaning he had little education and no experience whatsoever. Then suddenly, Daren seemed like an analyst from a completely unfamiliar business. Was that even possible? It even felt like Miles felt like Daren was two different people with the same face. That was all.

"I think there's someone else behind Daren. I'm not at all sure he could do all this in such a short time, when we all know who he is, right? He even managed to uncover everything we've been neatly organizing, all about the embezzlement we've been doing. This is insane! For decades, we've worked in the family company, and not a single employee even suspected this. Everything was running smoothly, and then Daren came along and messed it all up. Daren, he's just a poor, shameless loser!"

Miles's father was also annoyed. The two of them immediately threw themselves on the sofa, in the VIP room of a bar after their failed attempt to convince investors had driven them to near insanity!

"Tell me, Dad, what can I do now? I feel like I'll never accept and will never allow my life to be overshadowed by Daren. He's not qualified to judge us. He's not part of the Hoodie family at all."

The old man stroked his coarse beard and smiled faintly.

"Do you really think your grandmother would entrust the family company to a man who isn't even related?"

Miles paused for a moment.

"We all know your grandmother's temper, and I'm pretty sure she wouldn't allow an outsider to interfere in the family business. It's possible that your grandmother is thinking of exploiting Daren. Once Daren has helped the family company and restored its stability, she will be the one to kick him out."

Miles smiled wryly, even distrusting the powerful old woman in his family.

"Whatever the reason, I don't care at all, because in my eyes, I'm no longer valued by that old Bangka woman. I've been humiliated, and she supports me. This is something I will never accept or forget. And I swear I'll make them shut up about all the things they've done to me."

"Okay then, I'll support you, Miles. So what are your plans now?"

"What's clear is that I won't return the company's money, and I'll make sure Daren is out of the company and the Hoodie family home. And lastly…" Miles paused. "I'll get rid of that powerful old woman with my own hands!"
