Benton swiped his card, the soft beeping echoed through the hall leaving Harris and Avery frozen in disbelief.

Avery tilted her head, blinking hard as if reality had just sucker punched her.

“What the hell?” she hissed and stormed after Benton.

He ignored her completely. She caught up, grabbed his arm, and spun him around.

“You think we would buy that?”

“I didn't do it for you to buy,” Benton replied flatly, unmoved Avery twirling in annoyance snickered.

Her fingers curled mid-air, her jaw clenched, and she bit down on her upper lip.

“You’re really making it difficult for me to stand you,” she hissed. “An Amex card? Even our family had to pull strings and jump through hoops to get one. But you are a loser off the street claiming to own one, what are you now? Charlie Wade?”

She turned to her brother's eyes unwavering.

“Harris, call the security, this thief must not get away with that stolen card.”
