Richard eased the Lamborghini out of the garage, the engine purring like a beast straining against its chains.
Heads turned instantly. Cameras flashed. This wasn’t just any car. This was the newest Lamborghini model, only five people in the entire world currently owned it. And now, Richard was one of them.
The crowd outside erupted in murmurs of awe, voices chasing after the sleek machine as it took the exit.
Waiting there, was Mr. Zoe.
Richard stepped out, adjusting his jacket. Mr. Zoe immediately moved forward, bowing slightly. “I’m sorry for arriving late. Something urgent came up, I had to speak with them. Forgive me.”
Before he could lower himself fully, Richard reached forward, firmly catching him by the collar.
He straightened him up. “You don’t need to bow all the time, old man. It’s not good for your back. And honestly, it looks awkward.”
From a distance, hidden among the crowd, Fiona grabbed Frederick’s arm, her eyes wide.
“Look, look! That must be the real owner of the car! He’s even fixing his collar!”.
Frederick narrowed his eyes, bitterness dripping from his voice. “No way!. He’s just some errand boy. That’s all.”
“Does that mean he used his slavery status to humiliate us?”, Tracy groaned.
Back at the car, Mr. Zoe chuckled softly. “It’s because you are my boss, Richard.”
Richard shook his head with a faint smile. “No. You saved my life, and you never betrayed my parents. You monitored their wealth, built it, protected it. You are the good one, Zoe. You are the one I respect.”
As Richard spoke, his gaze fell to Zoe’s shoe, the lace dangling loose. Without hesitation, he crouched down and tied it neatly.
From afar, Fiona’s jaw dropped. She elbowed Frederick hard. “Look, look! He’s even fixing his shoes! This is exactly what he used to do with us—washing feet, shining shoes. He’s still poor! Still a servant!”
Frederick clenched his fists, rage and disbelief boiling together. “I knew it. He fooled us!”.
Fiona lifted her phone and started snapping pictures furiously. “I need proof. I can’t believe I almost fell for this nonsense. A shoe-polishing man can’t be rich.”
Meanwhile, Zoe tried to stop Richard. “Please, sir, don’t—”
But Richard waved him off with a grin. “Don’t make it a big deal. Come with me. Let’s test this new car together.”
Mr. Zoe hesitated. “I will take the other car.”
“No,” Richard insisted, almost playful. “Come in. Let’s ride the city together. You will love it.” He stepped around, opened the passenger door with a flourish, and motioned for Zoe to enter.
The old man chuckled, touched by the gesture, and sat down. To him, Richard’s humility was astonishing. He had expected wealth to turn men cold, arrogant, untouchable. But Richard was proving him wrong, he treated loyalty with honor, not scorn.
Richard slipped into the driver’s seat, his grin widening as he gripped the wheel. “Let’s go!” he barked with excitement. The Lamborghini roared to life, launching forward with a thunderous growl as they sped into the city.
Behind them, Fiona and Frederick stood filming, they were seething in anger.
“See?” Fiona hissed. “He opened the door for him, and now he’s driving him. He’s nothing but a driver! and an errand boy!”
Frederick’s lips curled into a sneer. “He fooled us. He didn’t buy that car, he’s just chauffeuring the real owner.”
Fiona nodded furiously, clutching her phone as if it were a weapon. “And I will make sure the world knows. I will show everyone exactly what he really is.”
Later that evening, Fiona cornered Frederick, her voice sharp with suspicion. “Tell me, what really happened back there? You couldn’t pay, and then you shouted at me in front of everyone. What was that about?”
Frederick exhaled heavily, feigning regret. “I’m sorry, Fiona. It wasn’t what you think. My father must have urgently used the funds. That’s all. But don’t worry—it’s nothing serious. In fact, he’s already returned three times the money, I checked. Everything is fine now.”
He lied smoothly.
Fiona’s frown softened, curiosity flickering. “Really? So… I could also buy that car if I wanted?”
Frederick smiled, seizing the opportunity. “Of course. But listen, Fiona—there’s something even bigger. Something that will secure our future, I want you and your family in it”.
Her brows arched. “What do you mean?”
“Big Rox Investment,” Frederick said, his tone dropping as though he was letting her in on a powerful secret. “It’s an exclusive international fund. The idea is simple: each investor proves their loyalty and commitment by investing thirty percent of their wealth. Once you do, your returns are astronomical. We are talking tenfold growth in less than a year. It’s how families stay at the top of the chain.”
Fiona’s eyes widened with interest. “Thirty percent of their wealth?”
“Yes,” Fredrick nodded firmly. “That’s the entry threshold. It weeds out the weak and shows who truly belongs in the circle. But once you are in… your position is guaranteed. Power, prestige, limitless access.”
What Fiona didn’t know was that Big Rox was nothing but smoke and paper-only scam crafted to lure the greedy.
There were no real assets, no legitimate investments. It was a trap Frederick had been grooming for months, waiting for the right target.
And now, with Fiona dazzled and her family’s fortune dangling within his reach, he knew he had her exactly where he wanted.
