Yao had not really tortured anyone the way he feels like he will do to Shang Yi. But he would only do that the moment Shang Yi refuses his request.

The bloodied man spat out blood and hissed. “I knew it, you were after the ceaseless impetus. But jokes on you, I will never say.”

Violet patterns streaked across the sky like sharp blades, severing the man's left arm and raising a cloud of blood in the air, followed by a blood-curdling scream.

With a cold gaze Yao repeated.

“Where is the ceaseless impetus?”

Yao folded his arms over his chest and sighed. “I think the ceaseless impetus will help me cultivate my will. Remember? Without will, immortality is almost impossible.”

Shang Yi shrieked like a mad man and sneered.

“You cut my hands off… how do you expect me to bring it without them?”

Another violet pattern streaked down, slicing through Shang Yi’s bones and cleanly cutting through his shoulders.
