Alexander braced himself, mentally preparing for whatever situation he was about to face. Just then, he heard a voice call out, “Oh, it’s you, sir.”

The familiarity in the tone struck him like a bell. He jolted in response, startled by the unexpected greeting, then furrowed his brows, trying to identify the speaker. Within moments, realization dawned on him.

He spun around, eyes narrowing with recognition. Just as he suspected, it was none other than the nurse who had accompanied Miss Anderson earlier to tend to her care and oversee her condition.

“Nurse Rebecca,” Alexander said with a subtle but undeniable sigh of relief, his tense shoulders relaxing slightly.

“What are you doing here?” he asked with confusion laced in his tone. Then, peering past her into the slightly open door behind, he caught sight of one of the guards who had escorted Miss Anderson from the patriarch’s room. “So this is where you all disappeared to.”

“That’s absolutely correct, sir,” the nurse replied with a nod

“So, do you think you can remember what happened—what exactly caused you to fall into a coma?” Miss Anderson asked gently, her voice laced with curiosity and concern.Sebastian groaned quietly and grimaced, the effort of remembering seeming almost physically painful.“I assumed by now you would’ve reviewed the footage from Stars Garden Incorporated,” he replied with mild surprise, “to piece together what happened that day.”Miss Anderson nodded solemnly. “We did. I went there myself. Retrieved all the security footage they had. I sat down and watched it frame by frame to uncover the truth behind your collapse. But… there was a problem.”Sebastian raised his eyebrows slowly. “A problem? What kind of problem?”“There were gaps in the footage,” she said, her voice growing tighter.“Gaps? Missing footage?” Sebastian nearly jolted upright, his surprise overriding his fatigue for a brief moment.“Apparently, Stars Garden Incorporated has had terrible security protocols for some time now—or

A few seconds later, the last of the family members had reluctantly exited the room, leaving behind the quiet stillness that comes with privacy. The grand door shut gently, creating a momentary hush as Alexander, Miss Anderson, and Sebastian Foster were finally alone—just as Miss Anderson had requested.Sebastian shifted slightly in his bed and cast his gaze toward Alexander, who stood a short distance away. From the patriarch’s perspective, Alexander seemed like the odd one out, a stranger in what was undeniably a deeply personal family moment. His brow furrowed, and he let out a groan of dissatisfaction.“I appreciate everything you did to save my life, young man,” Sebastian said, his voice firm but not unkind. “But if I recall correctly, I asked everyone to leave so I could speak with Anderson in private. That request included you.”Alexander’s expression stiffened slightly. He cast a quick, uneasy glance toward Miss Anderson, silently seeking her help to explain the situation.Mis

Alexander, Miss Anderson, and Nurse Rebecca stood in solemn silence before the large bed, directly facing Sebastian Foster and the gathered members of the Foster family who stood or sat by his side. The atmosphere in the room was charged with tension, relief, and anticipation—each person processing the patriarch's recovery in their own way.Sebastian’s weary eyes scanned the faces before him. When they landed on Miss Anderson, his expression softened with a trace of sorrow and gratitude.“I was told I’m only alive because you donated a significant amount of your blood for my treatment,” he said quietly, his voice weak but full of sincerity. “I’m extremely grateful to you, Anderson. I truly am.”Despite being too fatigued to move with any vigor, he tried to bow his head in acknowledgment, the effort itself speaking volumes about his appreciation.“It’s no problem, Dad,” Miss Anderson replied with a gentle, almost tearful smile. “After all, what’s family for, if not for this?”The word

“Huh?” Nurse Rebecca quickly stood upright from checking the IV needle in Miss Anderson’s arm and turned to face Alexander with a puzzled expression.“If she can’t move on her own because she’s too weak, then we can just put her in a wheelchair and roll her over to the patriarch’s room,” Alexander suggested, speaking with calm practicality. “That’s assuming there’s a wheelchair around here somewhere. But considering this building has been operating almost like a private hospital for one person over the past three years, I’m almost certain there has to be one nearby.”Miss Anderson’s lips curved into a playful smirk. She tilted her head slightly toward Nurse Rebecca and said with a knowing glint in her eyes, “There is a wheelchair somewhere around here, isn’t there?”She wasn’t just guessing—she knew. She had visited the estate multiple times over the past three years and was confident that she had seen a wheelchair at least once before during her rounds.“Yes,” Nurse Rebecca admitted,

"Master Sebastian has woken up and has specifically requested to see you, Miss Anderson, as well as Sir Alexander, the man who cured him of his life-threatening illness," Sonia announced with a calm but proud tone. Her words seemed to echo through the room like a divine proclamation.Miss Anderson’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief and emotional shock."What... what did you just say?" she asked, her voice trembling with excitement and uncertainty. The hope surging through her veins made her wonder if she had actually heard the words correctly or if her mind had conjured up a hallucination driven by desperation and longing.“I said that the patriarch is awake,” Sonia repeated patiently, her warm voice carrying a hint of relief, “and he would very much like to see the two of you—both you, Miss Anderson, and Sir Alexander. Though he remains somewhat fatigued and is currently resting, he made it quite clear that your presence is deeply important to him. So, if you could find it within your

Because Sarah had passed away and the financial support she once relied on had come to an abrupt end, Sebastian Foster took it upon himself to secure a future for the two daughters she left behind. He created a trust fund in their names, using his immense wealth to ensure that they would be provided for—without ever knowing the true source of the money. To preserve the illusion and protect the fragile truth, he had the bank—which he discreetly owned—pretend that it was Sarah who had established the trust before her death. The fund was sizable—large enough to sustain both Miss Anderson and her younger sister from adolescence into adulthood. It covered their educational expenses, living costs, and any additional support they might need. It was designed to give them access to the finest schools, tutors, and opportunities that money could buy. As a result, the sisters enrolled in the most prestigious high school in the city. When Miss Anderson graduated with top honors, she chose to atten
