Domain.

It was a spatial manifestation woven by individuals wielding immense cosmic energy. Inside a domain, the caster reigned as absolute law—a binding reality ensuring that every single strike was guaranteed to hit its mark.

This was the literal meaning behind the metaphor of a rabbit thrown straight into a lion’s den.

“Is this for real? Edward is actually dropping a domain on that kid? This is literally his first day at Olympiades, right?”

One of the Olympiades Council members blurted out, displaying the raw, instinctive empathy of a mortal-born demihuman. But Sovaccio, watching with unbothered calm, cut off the protest before Impala could even move to halt the match.

“Don’t.”

“What do you mean, don’t? Isn’t that kid in your homeroom class? Are you seriously willing to let your own student get vaporized before he even attends a single lecture?”

Sovaccio met the outcry with a confident, knowing smirk directed at the council member.

“Precisely because he’s in my class, I trust he won’t die.”

The tension among the spectators skyrocketed as Edward poured his entire reservoir of power into anchoring the domain. No matter how composed he tried to look on the outside, the savage, unchecked ego of a privileged prodigy was a difficult beast to cage.

Static electricity spiked violently as the domain neared completion. A blinding wave of luminescent blue ballooned outward, swallowing Eugene whole—confirming he was now entirely trapped inside Edward’s absolute cage.

His arms went numb. Stray currents battered his body from impossible vectors, nearly forcing him to drop the wooden branch—his sole, pathetic defense against Edward’s roaring tempest.

Eugene didn't have any grand, noble reason to win. As Edward had so cruelly pointed out, not a single soul would shed a tear if he died right here. But wouldn't it be unfair if he just kicked the bucket like this? Especially when his deadbeat father hadn't even bothered to summon him.

After abandoning Eugene and Florencia to rot for seventeen years, that so-called deity still dared to treat Eugene like trash. Was it simply because Florencia was a mere mortal?

“It’s not fair…” Eugene muttered, staggering backward under the crushing weight of Edward’s pressure.

“I swear I just want to slap that bastard across the face…” Eugene gritted out, pushing back against the impossible force, his groans turning into a roar of absolute defiance.

“I WANT TO SLAP MY GODDAMN FATHER!”

Then, the blinding blue light abruptly imploded.

Edward was violently thrown backward. Like a complex machine abruptly yanked from its power source, Edward’s cosmic energy completely flatlined—leaving a sudden, gaping window of opportunity for Eugene to lunge forward and—

SLAP!

He cracked his palm hard across Edward’s cheek, right in front of the entire assembly of watching demigods.

“That’s for my mom. Nobody talks shit about her.”

The second the blow landed, Eugene's knees buckled, and he collapsed face-first into the dirt, passing out cold. Edward’s defeat wasn’t carved out in rivers of blood or widespread environmental destruction; it ended with a single, exhausted, pathetic slap that brought an empire to its knees.

And somehow, it felt a thousand times more humiliating than if Eugene had carved his body to pieces.

Yet, that single afternoon quietly triggered a massive underground storm. The real shockwave wasn’t driven by the fact that Eugene had miraculously managed to graze Edward’s face, but rather by what had caused Edward to hemorrhage his massive cosmic reserves right in the middle of a locked domain.

While the outcome of the match didn't magically shove Eugene into Flowscent or Edward’s tier overnight, it was more than enough to secure him a seat inside the Council Chambers the very next morning.

“How are you feeling, Eugene Sidernum?” Impala asked, presiding from the highest seat in the council room.

“I’m doing better, Mrs. Impala. Demigod healing properties certainly speed things up.”

“Yes… and that biological limitation will forever remain the greatest bottleneck for demihumans like you. You are inherently fragile…” Impala noted, before narrowing her eyes. “However, I witnessed something peculiar from you yesterday, Eugene. Let us start with a simple question: what kind of energy were you using to dismantle Flowscent?”

Eugene fell silent, carefully weighing his options since the truth always sounded absurd.

“I don’t know.”

“…”

“As for my father’s Deity Echo, I know how to control it because I understand what it is—the ability to transmute every objects into silver weapons, I get that. But as for why my little arrows caused Flowscent actual agony? I haven't the foggiest idea.”

The eighteen Olympiades council members studied Eugene with intense, predatory focus. Among them, only Sovaccio maintained an amused, tranquil smile.

Impala pressed on. “I interrogated Flowscent and Edward recently. Flowscent claimed your arrows shouldn't have hurt him because of his massive immortal cosmic reserves, yet he shrieked in agony regardless. Do you know why?”

“Why?”

Impala let out a slow sigh. “Because your arrows temporarily nullified his cosmic energy.”

Eugene froze. He genuinely didn't know what kind of expression he was supposed to wear; shock and utter bewilderment warred across his features.

“It only happened momentarily, for as long as the arrow remained embedded. It took him hours for his cosmic reserves to fully reboot—which explains why he was temporarily trapped back in his base humanoid form, as a Godspawn’s shifting also burns through massive amounts of cosmic energy.”

“Ah… that makes sense.”

“And as for Edward…”

Eugene’s eyes locked onto Impala, his heartbeat hammering like a war drum hitting a steady, lethal rhythm.

“You stripped him of his cosmic energy in a single exchange. That is why his domain collapsed instantly, allowing you to physically touch him.”

“Whoa… I did that?”

Sovaccio barely managed to swallow a laugh at Eugene’s blank, innocent reaction. Impala let out another heavy, weary sigh, maintaining her dead-serious demeanor as she concluded.

“I believe that is your innate Cosmic Force, Eugene. You possess an active immunity—an anti-energy property against cosmic forces.”

“Wh—what does that mean?”

“It works essentially like anti-magic, Eugene,” Sovaccio chimed in smoothly. “You possess a natural constitution that rejects cosmic energy, preventing it from touching or influencing you. And that is your innate cosmic power.”

“Whoa…” Eugene nearly broke into a massive grin; he had finally figured out his power! Studying it moving forward wouldn't be an impossible homework assignment anymore.

Until Sovaccio killed the excitement entirely.

“Except that isn’t your father’s power, Eugene.”

Eugene’s smile died instantly.

“A Cosmic Force is forged with tiny elemental fragments inherited from your deity parent, which is why an Echo and a Force generally share the same thematic roots. But your father possesses no such ability, Eugene. Because divine powers exist in a delicate, interconnected balance—the way this world functions. None of them possess an anti-energy property like that.”

The mystery surrounding Eugene Sidernum’s earth-shattering Cosmic Force wasn't just shaking the foundations of Olympiades; it had already become the primary agenda on an entirely different table.

More specifically, inside the grand palace where the Twelve Great Olympus deities convened. But today, only Zeus and Hades were present.

“A single boy wielding anti-cosmic powers has thrown the entire Olympus Realm into chaos,” Zeus spoke, his voice low and heavy with absolute authority—fitting for the King of the Gods.

Hades scoffed lightly. “They are in a panic simply because, for the very first time, a power exists that can actively reject their divine authority.”

“Do you genuinely believe the boy poses a threat to us?”

“That boy?” Hades let out a dry, humorless chuckle. “My dear brother looks genuinely terrified over a single mortal brat.”

“Do I look terrified!?” Zeus’s temper flared, blasting a massive structural pillar right beside Hades’s seat, reducing a chunk of it to dust—though he easily could have vaporized the whole thing.

Hades remained completely unfazed. He glanced down at the smoking, crackling static left on the stone, before flashing a slow, knowing smile at Zeus.

“Are you shaking because this is a first in history, Zeus?”

Zeus pinned Hades with a razor-sharp glare, as if he could see right through the cynical, calculating amusement dancing in his brother's eyes.

“Or are you shaking because this isn’t the first time? You know damn well the boy doesn’t just resist cosmic energy—he nullifies it.”

Zeus’s stare grew increasingly feral, barely managing to keep his rage on a tight leash, until Hades casually dropped the final blow:

“What’s wrong? Does it ring a bell? What crosses your mind right this second… that deity you slaughtered so long ago?”

An afternoon in Horochora felt infinitely more breathtaking than anything Eugene had ever witnessed back in the mortal world. Yet, as Edward Skarsgard stood silhouetted against the sinking sun, the glare of absolute victory seemed to reflect entirely off his frame.Edward was favored to win this battle—a 99% probability. But Eugene was willing to gamble everything on that remaining 1%. Besides, this was a realm of manifestation where anything could happen, or so they claimed. The demigods stood gathered around the clearing in the dense woods where Eugene and Edward faced off. Eugene figured they must possess some form of divine, high-tech equivalent to live-broadcast cameras back home.“Why do you even want to fight me, Edward?” Eugene demanded, his gaze sharp and fixed despite his hammering heart.Edward offered a calm, composed smile, though Eugene could easily read the underlying condescension.“For Flowscent.”“You literally said you weren't taking sides.”“Ah, you got me. • Welcome to a little side of Olympiades

What Eugene had pulled off this morning successfully shifted the entire academy's focus, if only for a brief moment. As he stepped into the main hall of the Olympiades Academy, he overheard more whispers surrounding Flowscent—the massive dire wolf he had just humiliated, and the revelation that the beast currently held a spot in the academy's Top 10 ranks.“How on earth did you pull that off, Eugene? Did you shatter his legs or something?”A group of curious students crowded around Eugene, fascinated by the mysterious half-human who had managed to put Flowscent in his place.“Shatter his legs? Haha, that sounds impossible. He’s freaking huge.”“Are you playing humble? Pulling off the impossible is one thing, but you literally shattered the ultimate ceiling on your very first day!”“Oh, really?” Eugene hadn’t intended to play humble for clout, but the cold hard fact remained: he had just taken down a high-born Godspawn. “Just how strong are these Godspawn anyway?”The five stude

  • This nobody just beat a godspawn!

Facing a beast resembling an eight-foot-tall dire wolf wasn't something Eugene was prepared to handle with a calm, cool head. Eugene’s entire body shook uncontrollably, his feet glued to the ground, paralyzed while the creature's glowing eyes locked onto him like twin searchlights—cementing Eugene’s absolute, undeniable role in this scenario: *prey*. “This fear… this utter helplessness… you truly are just a half-breed human.” ‘Fuck, fuck. Where the hell is that boy? Young Master Keaton ...? Is anybody going to save me? Where are the guards? WHY THE HELL ARE THEY LEAVING ME OUT HERE TO DIE!?’ A wave of suffocating despair crashed over Eugene. The beast’s massive jaws parted, pulling back into a grotesque, blood-thirsty grin. “I hear in the mortal world, your kind sits at the top of the food chain,” the wolf rasped, its voice a low, rumbling growl as its hot, foul breath fanned across Eugene’s face. “But down here? You are nothing more than fresh meat.” Its jaws snapped wide open

  • His true identity

“He would've told the truth if you guys had been stricter! What is this nonsense? You can’t just let a criminal walk around near my child! He almost killed my Arson!” Mrs. Barnett’s voice faded away as the headmaster escorted her out. Eugene ended up detained in the headmaster’s office for two hours, interrogated about how he managed to bring a weapon to school. What could he possibly say? Left alone to contemplate his mistake, Eugene was instead entirely consumed by how the pen in his grip had turned into a dagger. He was only lucky he managed to restrain himself just in time; otherwise, this room wouldn't be the headmaster's office—it would be a prison cell. “I won’t forgive him! I’ll make sure my dad kicks him out of this school!” Arson’s distant threat weighed heavily on Eugene’s chest. His shoulders slumped, and his heavy breath sounded utterly exhausted. His mother had just been buried, and Eugene was about to drag his life into an even more miserable reality. He glanced at

“I am so sorry for your loss, son.”The priest’s warm words failed to reach Eugene’s frozen heart. He was still struggling to accept the cruel reality that he had truly lost his mother for good.Eugene had always believed that his relentless hard work would eventually bear sweet fruit—that Florencia, at the very least, would be able to stay by his side longer. Now, life felt like a hollow, suffocating hell. The mere thought of someone he could call a "father" filled Eugene’s chest with a choking wave of bitter resentment. He was the primary reason Eugene and Florencia had been forced to endure such a miserable existence in the first place.“I hope you live a life strangled by disappointment and crushing expectations. Because if your life turns out even slightly better than mine and my mother’s, I swear I will curse whatever god or entity allowed you and me to live like this.” Eugene’s bitter curse directed at his absent father was the final thing he muttered before leaving the public
