Yan Ming sat cross legged in his courtyard, taking in deep breaths, the duel had taken a huge toll on him even though it looked like he won without much effort.

If Bennett had gone on defense, dragging it out till his elemental possession was over he might have lost, he couldn't keep elemental possession on forever, it had a limited duration and was taxing on his body, if he didn't spend most of his blank points on endurance he wouldn't have lasted for so long.

Bennett walked into the courtyard, he had yet to recover from the duel but he had to hand over his prizes.

"Here is the map you requested for, and this is a high grade fire core, the emperor specifically ordered it to be given to you, it's one of the top three best treasures in the imperial vault." Bennett said, placing emphasis on the emperor to ensure Yan Ming knew how he got to obtain such a priceless treasure, he had initially expected a shocked expression from him but he still had that passive, indifferent look on his face.

'Show some respect, this is the empire's national treasure!'

"This is the best you have? I know I wasn't expecting much but it's really worse than I expected." He said with a light sigh then picked up the orb case along with the map and waved a hand towards Bennett, shoving him away from the courtyard.

After chasing the speechless and discontent Bennett away from the courtyard Yan Ming returned to his room, placed the map on a stool and opened the orb case.

In it was an orb smaller than the size of a fist radiating intense energy.

"This should be enough right?" He asked.

{Yes master, it's enough to unseal Olethros}

"Then use the rest to recover, I'll search for more energy sources to unseal the others."

{Thank you master!} Tian Luo said, it's shrill voice filled with glee.

"How do you go about this?" Yan Ming wondered, it was his first time doing it and he was pretty clueless about it.

{Just hold onto it}

He picked up the orb and dropped the orb case, tiny red tendrils grew out of his skin extending towards the orb, gradually wrapping round it, a transparent screen appeared in his sight.

{Seven Infernal Flames Of Hell}

The next moment the progress shot up, increasing by hundreds every second.

{Unsealing process: 2479/10000}

{Unsealing process: 3079/10000}

{Unsealing process: 3589/10000}

The orb grew smaller with every passing second, it's density decreasing over time, while the progress shot up even further.

After a few minutes the progress was finally filled up, a light crackle that felt like chains breaking apart came from his meridians, a warm soothing flame flew through his body, relishing in the feeling a light smile appeared on Yan Ming's face.

"It's been just a few days but I'll admit I missed this feeling."

The absorption speed increased even further, draining what was left of the orb in mere seconds.

"How was it?" He asked.

{I managed to recover a bit, it isn't much but it's a hundred times better than my previous dying state, I've recreated the system into a new, better version}

"Oh, show me."

{4. Lucky glow: As the son of the universe, every actions of yours has a very high chance for it to succeed}

"There doesn't seem to be any difference here, or am I mistaken?" He asked with a frown, aside from the bloodline which had changed from {None} to {Hidden} and the lucky glow there didn't seem to be any other new features.

"Even the shop is still locked." He said while tapping on the shop icon on the upper right corner.

{It's only a new feature now, it's nothing much I'll create others the more I recover}

"Oh? Which feature is that?"

{Just like I was able to absorb the flame core to unseal the flames and recover I can now absorb it to recover your cultivation as well}

{Also I made a trade with origin and enabled you to absorb energy from other element and utilize them although at a slower and weaker rate than fire I hope it will help a bit} Tian Luo said, provoking a surprised expression on Yan Ming's face for the first time in ages, the weight of his casual words created a whole new, different world filled with opportunities for him.

As a being created from fire, representing flames one of the basic elements of the universe he had absolute control over fire but in exchange he was unable to use other elements. But here he was, suddenly able to control fire and other elements as well.

"How did you do it? And what are the conditions for me to use them? Do I just have to learn them?" He asked, no matter how he tried to use other elements he was unable to use them, it felt like a barrier stood between him and the elements.

{You'll have to absorb energy sources to unlock each one of them, just like unsealing the flames, recovering your cultivation and healing me, you need to absorb enough energy related to those elements}

"That's all? Even more reason for me to return to the infernal realm as soon as possible, I never expected such a surprise." Yan Ming said, stood up then walked towards the map placed on the stool.

"I could just increase my cultivation and rush over to the infernal realm but that won't help, I don't know what I might face there, it's better to gather some resources in the mortal realm first, I hope Tian Yi doesn't notice anything during this period."

"As long as I have Olethros nothing in the mortal realm is able to pose a threat to me." He muttered, opened the scroll scanning through the map, marking out spots he suspected would give birth to divine treasures them rolled it up.

"I've stayed here for long enough, time to leave."

---

"Did you give it to him?" Herlous asked.

"Yes your imperial majesty."

"What did he say?" Herlous asked, his fingers tapping gently on the armrest.

"Uhm--, he said 'This is the best you have? I know I wasn't expecting much but it's really worse than I expected.'" Bennett replied, feeling a bit relieved as he watched the emperor's face blacken, at least he wasn't the only one feeling frustrated by Yan Ming.

"Call him over." Herlous ordered.

"Understood your majesty." One of the guards standing nearby said then walked out of the courtroom towards Yan Ming's courtyard.

A few minutes later the guard returned with a perturbed look on his face "Your imperial majesty, I searched his courtyard but there's no one there."

"No one's there?"

"Oh, I forgot to say this earlier, I think he mentioned leaving the capital for a while." Bennett said, he also didn't expect Yan Ming to leave in such a hurry either.

"Why didn't you say this earlier! He has the flame core, and the challenge with Sitrus will be holding soon!"

---

A few miles away from the capital Yan Ming was walking across the plains, he had never felt so light before, raising his head he stared at the skies above with a smile.

"Destiny is really a funny thing don't you think Lie Xing?"

---

I'll be locking the novel here but this is where things start getting really interesting, why do you think Yan Ming's wives betrayed him? Why is Yin Chen still alive? What happened to the ten primordials? What do you think Tian Yi will do when she finds out what went wrong in the infernal realm and why did chaos become silent? What happened in the dark age? Does Yan Ming really posses the control he assumes over the three realms or it's just an illusion fabricated by his mind?

Welp, read on to find out more, I assure you this journey will be fun, thanks for reading.

    They made camp at the valley's edge as evening settled over the still lake, Yan Ming settlinginto meditation near the water's shore in hopes that whatever mechanism had first drawn theWarden's attention to this location might respond similarly to their return. Qing Chun keptwatch nearby, golden-white light occasionally flickering at her fingertips as she continued herown quiet practice while they waited.Hours passed without any sign of the Warden's return, the valley's silver-shimmering treesrustling softly in a gentle evening breeze, the lake's still surface reflecting the graduallyemerging stars with perfect, undisturbed clarity. Yan Ming was beginning to wonder if theattempt had been misguided when a familiar, layered voice finally broke the silence."You've returned sooner than I expected."Yan Ming's eyes opened immediately, finding the Warden seated on the same flat stone he'doccupied during their first encounter, grey robes settling around him as though he'd simplyalw

  • The Captives

    The captured Concord agents proved considerably more forthcoming than the Tian clan's earlierinterrogation of the fleeing traitor's associates, whether from the visible devastation of theirfailed assault or simple exhaustion after weeks of demanding service to a cause several of themprivately admitted they'd never fully understood. Elder Rushan conducted the questioningpersonally, flanked by two of her most trusted elders, while Yan Ming observed from ashadowed corner of the interrogation chamber, old instinct sharpening at every fragment ofuseful information."Tell me about the array," Elder Rushan said to the most senior of the captured agents, aweathered man whose Ember Core cultivation marked him as considerably more experiencedthan his younger companions. "What have you heard about its purpose?"The agent hesitated, old loyalty warring visibly against the practical calculation of a man whounderstood his current position offered little room for continued defiance. Rest, as it turned out, proved shorter-lived than Elder Rushan's hospitality had promised. YanMing woke well before dawn to the unmistakable sensation of alarm formations activatingsomewhere deep within the mountain stronghold, old instinct pulling him upright beforeconscious thought had fully caught up to the danger."Something's wrong," he said, already reaching for Qing Chun's shoulder to wake her from theadjoining sleeping mat.She stirred immediately, years of travel together having sharpened her own reflexesconsiderably since their first weeks on the road. "What is it?""Alarm formations. I don't know the cause yet, but it's close." He was already moving towardthe chamber's entrance, crimson-gold flame kindling reflexively at his fingertips. "Stay close."They emerged into the stronghold's corridors to find them filled with hurrying clan members,some armed and moving toward the mountain's lower levels, others clearly civilians beingdirected toward secured inner chambers

  • The Ember Vale Request

    Word arrived three days later, carried by a travel-worn messenger bearing the Ember ValeClan's insignia, requesting Yan Ming and Qing Chun's presence at their territory directly ratherthan continuing to coordinate purely through correspondence. Tian Shen read the letter twicebefore passing it across his study's desk, expression thoughtful."They're asking for more than information sharing," he said. "Their message suggests they'veencountered something specific — an artifact or technique recovered from a skirmish withConcord scouts, something they believe requires expertise beyond what their own elderscurrently possess.""And they think I'm the one who might understand it." Yan Ming scanned the letter's careful,formal phrasing, old wariness mixing with cautious curiosity. "Did they say what kind ofartifact?""Only that it bears markings unlike anything in their clan's historical records, and that it wasrecovered from a Concord agent killed during a border skirmish two weeks ag

  • Deeper Into the Seal

    True to his word, Yan Ming began the following morning with a return to the deliberate,dangerous work of unsealing more of his restrained cultivation, retreating to a heavily wardedchamber deep within the Tian clan's palace that Tian Shen had personally arranged for exactlythis purpose — thick stone walls layered with containment formations, designed to absorb anyerrant surge of power that might otherwise threaten the surrounding structure."You're certain about pushing further?" Tian Shen asked, watching from the chamber'sthreshold as Yan Ming settled into a meditative stance at its center, the Restriction Key'spendant clutched carefully against his chest. "The scouts' report gave us months, not days.There's no need to rush this recklessly.""There's every need," Yan Ming replied, eyes already closed, breathing settling into the slow,measured rhythm of deep meditation. "Feng Lie Zun knows we're organizing against him now,thanks to the traitor's information. Whatever timeline

  • Terms of the Alliance

    Morning arrived with the Tian clan's palace grounds still bearing faint scars of the previousday's assault — scorched stone along the archive wing's outer wall, freshly reinforced wardshumming visibly along every entrance, guards posted in numbers that hadn't been necessarybefore the traitor's betrayal had come to light. The assembled delegates reconvened in the greathall with considerably less ease than they'd carried into the summit's opening session, warinessnow coloring every exchange, every glance toward unfamiliar faces among their own retinues."Before we finalize anything," the Azure Tide Sect's representative said, arms crossed as shesurveyed the room, "I want assurances that yesterday's breach won't be repeated. If Concordagents can infiltrate the Tian clan's own staff, what's stopping them from doing the same to anyof our territories once this alliance becomes public knowledge?""Nothing, entirely," Tian Shen admitted, meeting her gaze without flinching from theunc
