Darian, Zara, and Storm, with calm and focused looks on their faces, stood in a perfect triangle formation. Each of them already had their weapons drawn, ready to clash with any beast that dared to make a single wrong move against them.
In their middle, Ember knelt beside Alden, her hands glowing faintly with white light. Her fingers trembled as she pressed them over his wound, pouring out her healing energy as fast as she could. Sweat ran down her forehead from both fear and exhaustion. Alden’s body was slowly recovering thanks to her help and his own healing ability working together, but it wasn’t fast enough. Ember bit her lower lip, praying silently that he would be able to stand soon. They were already surrounded. The beasts were already here, standing only a few distances away from them. From a quick rough count, there were more than thirty. But this time, it wasn’t just Scor-Eye Wolves. There were Fang Rabbits, black-skinned leopards, different types of wolves, and many other strange-looking beasts. Each one looked ready to kill. The air was filled with the heavy, oppressive aura of the beasts bloodlust and killing intent. It was so strong that even breathing felt difficult. The pressure made Ember’s hands shake as she continued healing Alden, while Darian, Zara, and Storm stood like guards, shielding her from any danger. Yet something was off. The beasts didn’t rush forward to attack like they always did. Instead, they just stood there in silence, waiting, and staring at them with glowing red eyes. Their low growls echoed through the air like thunder, and each breath they took came out as hot steam. The stench of blood, wet fur, and rot spread across the place, making the air thick and hard to bear. It was strange. Beasts never waited. They always attacked as soon as they saw a human. Darian narrowed his eyes and adjusted his grip on his twin blades. "Stay alert," he warned in a calm but serious tone. "They’re testing us, waiting for the right moment." "Let them come," Storm said coldly, raising his saber high. "We’ll make them regret standing in front of us." "I don’t think so, Darian," Zara said suddenly. "Low-level beasts never act this smart. The only thing that can make them act like this is their leader." As soon as she finished speaking, a deep and commanding howl echoed through the air. The ground shook again from the sound. Everyone turned toward the source. From behind the group of beasts, a huge shadow slowly walked out. It was a massive Scor-Eye Wolf, but much larger than the others. Its fur was pitch black with bright silver lines running across its body like cracks of lightning. Its claws were much longer and sharper. "A Level 2 D-rank Scor-Eye Beast…" Storm muttered. The other beasts lowered their heads slightly and let out low sounds, showing respect to their king. The massive wolf lifted its head high and let out a loud, echoing howl that carried authority and power. Howl! It was as if the smaller beasts were waiting for that signal. The giant wolf’s claws dug into the ground, its red eyes fixed on the humans. Then it roared. Roar! The ground seemed to shake as the sound spread across the area. That was the command. The beasts charged forward all at once, roaring like a raging storm. But the massive Scor-Eye Wolf did not move. It stood still, watching coldly as its followers rushed ahead. It looked almost bored, as if the humans before it were too weak to be worth its effort. Darian moved first. He dashed forward with incredible speed, his twin blades flashing in the faint light. In one clean motion, he met a leaping wolf mid-air and cut it down, blood spraying across the air. "Stay together!" he shouted. Storm raised his saber and slammed it into the ground. A violent wave of energy burst outward, shaking the ground and throwing several smaller wolves into the air. The shockwave cracked the earth beneath his feet. Zara moved next. Her whip glowed brighter, snapping through the air with sharp cracks. It slashed through eyes, throats, and legs of the charging beasts with perfect precision. Each strike was fast, clean, and deadly. This time around, they held nothing back as they fought with their strength, which was completely different from their previous fight. Still, the wave didn’t stop. For every beast they killed, two more replaced it. The ground was shaking from their footsteps. The growls, the roars, and the sound of metal clashing filled the air, drowning out everything else. And behind them, Ember was restless as she struggled to keep her healing spell stable. Her energy was draining fast, but she refused to stop. She knew the danger they were in. Her top priority now was to get Alden healthily back on his feet. "Come on, come on," Alden scolded in his mind as he checked his healing status. [Character healing taking place <90% of your health restored>]Latest Chapter

Chapter 23
“Pathetic beasts!” Ember spat out as she heard the ground shaking violently immediately after Darian’s warning as if the beasts wanted to prove he was right that they were coming as said.Alden did not relax to even look around despite the terrifying sound of beasts coming closer with each passing second, his eyes were on the wolf he and Ember were attacking to kill.‘At this point! Chapter 21: Clashes With The Threats
Hssss! The wolf on Darian’s shoulder kept struggling in fear, scratching and biting wildly as it tried to get free. But it was too late to escape. The beast now realized it had made a terrible mistake of jumping onto a madman it shouldn’t have even dared to recklessly approach.Darian’s fingers pushed deeper into the creature’s eye socket, forcing their way in as he tried to crush its brain through sheer force.“Damn beast! Make it up to me for your miserable mistake,” he growled through gritted teeth. The pain tearing through his shoulder was unbearable, yet his face remained cold, refusing to show a trace of weakness.Blood rushed down his arm, bathing his body to turn red, but he didn’t stop. The creature let out a final, ear-piercing cry before going still.A few seconds later, its lifeless body collapsed to the ground.Darian exhaled slowly, sweat sliding down the side of his face as he tried to calm his pounding heartbeat. He was lucky, if not for his experience in handling such
Chapter 20: Trapped
Inside the dark forest, the scary sound of beasts echoed from all directions. Soon, the group was surrounded by dangerous scor-eye wolves circling around them, ready to tear them apart for trespassing into their territory. "Holy crab!" Ember cursed inwardly, but she refused to allow any fear to overtake her heart, knowing fully well that it wasn't going to help matters. Each one of them had already drawn out their weapons, their eyes fixed on the six beasts around them, trying to intimidate them with their numbers. Darian held out his two short swords. "Don't be scared of their numbers," he said directly to Alden and Ember, trying to ease any worries in their hearts. "They are just Level 1 F-rank beasts, so do not fall for their tricks or get trapped among them and also try to finish them off quickly with each of your attacks," he declared, staring at the beasts with a fierce glare. Zara, the quiet one, did nothing but extend her spiked steel whip. She wanted nothing more than t

The fang rabbit lunged at Alden, its claws cutting through the air with a sharp swish.Alden stepped aside with smooth, quick moves, the wind circling around him.He put both of his wind skills to good use, turning them to his advantage."Having such skills in battle is useful..."Alden found it easy to maneuver around the rabbit, striking it from different directions and giving it no chance to fight back.He was trying his very best to face the beast head-on but making sure he was careful not to allow the beast get an advantage over him.The (Wind control) proved useful in this case, enabling him to control the wind and boost his attack range.Clang! He blocked the blow with his sword and the sound of clashing rang out as the creature's hard fangs and claws met his blade. The impact sent a shock through his arms, but he held his ground. The beast growled as it pulled back, its eyes burning with anger.Snap!Ember let her arrow fly. It whistled through the air and hit the creature's b
