Immediately Daven saw that someone was trying to get into the parking area, he turned away, to the elevator situated at the end of the wall.

“Come back here…” The boys groaned in pain, crawling on the floor to get him back but he was long gone. The intruder quickly got to the injured boys and no matter how they asked him to get Daven, he couldn't believe that one man would beat them all up.

On the other hand, Daven rode up the elevator, reaching Elena’s hospital room. He didn't mind if his clothes were torn and dirty, he just wanted to see how she was doing.

When he went straight in, she was up on her bed with Ari reading a book to her. But as soon as Ari saw him, he gasped in shock.

“Daven! When did you get out of police custody?” Ari immediately threw the book to the side, as his eyes shone with joy. He thought the police wouldn't let him go for another day.

“I got out this morning…” Daven replied absentmindedly. His eyes were on Elena who stared back at him with a blank look.

A quick scroll through the comment section of the video didn't make Daven flinch even a little. He had listened to people say worse about him and as long as he knew he was nothing of what they said, he was okay. So he passed the phone back to Ari, “The truth always prevails over the lies. Don’t worry.” A small smile played right on Daven’s face because he knew just how to tackle Maya. He would let her think she had won already only for her to get bitten in the ass. “For now, let’s go get a house, a car for me, and a few clothes. I don’t want to be dressed so shabbily.” He sniffed his body to realize he stank of yesterday's sweat after being kept in police custody the whole night. After catering to his family all these years and finally getting the System that provided him with money, he didn't even think of himself. He thought of his family who later on pointed fingers at him. Now, it was time to do something for himself. A few minutes later, they got into a cab and drove straigh

  • The Parking Garage Fight

Seeing Daven’s face turning red in anger, the students gloated. The momentary fear they had for him disappeared with the wind. They felt Daven was just a pauper and even though he fought against Gerald, he still wasn't capable of winning. “See? It’s posted!” They sneered. “Everyone will know you as a fucking demented patient! You should get into that hospital and get your head checked!”But another student spoke as he circled Daven, and then wound a hand around his neck, “Or we could help you.”“If you get down on your knees and beg us, we will reverse our post quickly.” He whispered in Daven’s ears. “You wouldn't want to risk damaging your reputation continuously, right?”To them, Daven was the man who faked beating ten men. There was no evidence for the whole school to believe him or believe he was a savior or a strong man. He was also the most famous miscreant and even though it seemed as if he had escaped Gerald’s trap, it didn't mean he had elevated his status. “So, get down o

  • System Reactivated

Daven hated this, he hated being forced to the wall repeatedly. “I didn’t hurt her.” He gritted his teeth, staring at the students as they closed in on him. “Then how do you explain this blood here?” They pointed at Maya’s blood which had stained the floor. “I don’t know. Maybe she cut herself…” Daven came up with a theory on the spot. No matter how he thought back to the moment he collided with her, the force wasn’t enough to harm her this way. “Maya did this herself,”“Can you hear yourself?” The students hissed, clearly annoyed by Daven’s continuous denial. “Quit acting like a saint, everyone saw what you did and we are going to testify against you.”“Fine.” Daven let out, overwhelmed with fatigue. He didn't want to keep dealing with these miscreants who were scrambling to impress a vain woman like Maya. “You all should fucking call the police! When they review the CCTV footage, they will know who is speaking the truth!” He said pointedly. His words caused the students to shut

  • Weakness And Humiliation

The stretcher wheeled Daven’s frail body right out of the police station. However, as he slowly saw the light, his body regained strength, however, the weakness from losing the system’s ability was still there. Going to the hospital was going to do him no good and so, he tapped on the stretcher as he was about to be placed into the ambulance. “Hello, Mr, do you need anything?” The paramedics asked as they saw him struggling to sit up. “I don’t need anything. I am fine.” Slowly, he held his head, sitting up on the stretcher. His back was caved in, as his body slowly adjusted to the weakness. “You don’t look fine...” The paramedics refused. “Why don’t we check you for a bit right here…”They quickly rallied around Daven, checking his pulse and heart rate. He looked weak, yes but when they checked his stats, he was very normal. “I am fine, right?” Daven groaned, putting his legs on the floor, so he could stand upright.“Yes, but you can’t leave yet—”“Let him go.” The detective’s vo

  • The First Price And The Punishment

Daven’s heart dropped to the pit when he heard of the punishment. Of course, he didn't save Elena with his hands, after all, he didn't keep up with time. But the grievances in his heart couldn't be contained. “Why…” He let out, his breath harsh and ragged. “Why would you give me a mission I wouldn't be able to fulfill? Did you expect me to barge into the hospital and perform surgery on her without a license?”[Every mission given to you, is for a purpose! To be ahead of your peers and for you to learn from!][The levels of the Medical System will always be available to you!] The System’s answer successfully shut Daven up but then he realized that until he worked harder to become a certified medical doctor, he would sometimes fall short. The System wasn't giving him information and knowledge on a platter of gold, he had to work for it. But there was still one more thing, his punishment. What more did the system want from him? After all, a part of his life force was already taken.
