Sure enough, Doctor Blackman was on the committee and as soon as his eyes met with Daven’s, he looked away.

He wouldn't show any form of favoritism and would only judge according to all the evidence and facts being presented.

One of the women, Georgia, took the lead, her gaze piercing through Daven’s. She looked scary, and he had heard tales about her amongst the students.

She was known for her brutal decision, and would never show mercy, especially when a woman was the victim. And now, Maya was the perfect victim.

“Mr. King, I would like to ask if you have seen the video of you harassing a female student on campus?” Georgia asked.

Daven took a deep breath and nodded, “Yes, ma’am.”

“Do you plead guilty?”

“Not guilty, ma’am,” Daven responded, his sharp eyes on Georgia. She was a bit baffled by his gaze, sharp and asserting as if he damn well knew he was innocent.

Deep down, she started to wonder what level of confidence he had and she was determined to break it.

“Can I see that receipt?” Georgia immediately stood up, her eyes dimming with thrill. Maya shook, glancing at Daven with fear in her eyes. A minute ago, she had been running her mouth, but now, she was suddenly so weak and fearful while she clutched her dress again. “I…” She stuttered, as a tear slipped from her eyes. “I am scared.”Daven shook his head, a light scoff spilling from his mouth. He had to give it to her, because she acted so damn well.“No one is going to harm you here,” Georgia assured, stepping from the table toward Maya. The next second, she embraced her, the hug turning into an emotional display. “I am sorry for all that happened. The school will make sure to give you justice.” “Thank you.” Maya wiped her tears as she pulled away from the hug. She passed her phone to Georgia and a few minutes later, the documented receipt was displayed on the large screen in the room. All eyes turned on Daven and even Blackman looked intensely at him. He had put a lot of faith

Daven pursed his lips, his eyes gluing down on Dayna and Chris but then they eventually settled on her and they narrowed by the second. For the first time, he decided to entertain their scorn. “Do you think you belong here too, Dayna?” He asked. “Of course…” She chuckled, her hand fanning her face as if she were a goddess just descended on earth. “I got in fair and square, unlike you…” “Using your family connections, I suppose?” He raised a brow at her. Although his situation wasn't that much different from hers, he didn't go around shaming others. “Is there anything else you can brag of?” “What…what do you mean? Are you implying I have no brain whatsoever?” She snapped. “Bingo!” Daven snapped his fingers. “At least, you can think that far with that puny organ of yours.” “Daven! That’s enough!” Chris cut in, his eyes flaming with a burning fury. “You have done nothing but cause numerous disputes and problems, ever since you appeared!” “And now you dare to insult

The air around the dining area was tense, with cutlery clanking on plates, the sound grating to the ears. He felt his heart weighing heavily with a ton of bricks and regret. He wanted to come back and enjoy a home-cooked meal but then, he let his plan to interfere. Now, the happy atmosphere he came back to was ruined and he had to keep seeing Maya's face."Daven, eat this." Maya excitedly dropped a slice of steak on his plate while sucking on her fork, like a child. But Ari hated the sight and he felt bad for his friend, Elena."Why are you back here, Maya?" He dropped his cutlery, the clanking sound causing everyone to wince. "You left Daven for Gerald and now you are back for what? To suck him dry of his money?"Maya didn't explode in anger like Ari had expected, after all, she had to do everything to stay but she couldn't keep her greedy side awa

Daven drove back to his house while giving his teacher a call. He finally agreed to accompany him to the West mansion, after all, that was what the old man wanted. However, this was part of his carefully laid out plan. He was going to strike Gerald where it was hot. “Foolish boy,” He chuckled. “It seems your mummy didn't tell you what went on at the mansion.”If Gerald had known that the West patriarch had offered to take Daven as his new grandson, he would have gone bonkers and Daven was going to do just that. Make Gerald go crazy. “Good.” Doctor Blackman had agreed readily. “We are going to visit the patriarch at the end of this week. However, you have something else to worry about.”“Is it about the disciplinary action against me?” Daven asked, his tone without a hint of worry. “Yes. Aren't you afraid?” Blackman asked. “You know what is at stake here. If you get punished, then you wouldn't be able to achieve your dream.”“Although I can help you get out of this situation. It is

The chatters died down, the laughter seizing as James King looked up to see his son standing at the door. His smile faltered and his gaze turned stern.“What are you doing here, Daven? You didn't want anything to do with your family, did you?” James sneered. “I got a call…” Daven replied. “I thought something had happened to you—”“What do you think happened?” James hissed, his gaze sharp. “Are you hoping I go back to the hospital? Look at me, I am well.” “I didn't call you and neither did Arya. Don’t lie to my face, Daven.” James King was increasingly getting annoyed with his son and even though he had been hurt when Daven cut all contact with them, he wasn't now. After all, they had a steady supply of money now, and seeing Daven wasn't his priority. “So, brother. Why are you here? Father didn't give you a call. Did you hear about the party we are having without you?” Arya stepped forward, folding her arms like a princess. “Are you jealous we are doing this without you?” “Look,
