In the following four months, Agaba eliminated others - one by one - those he knew would resist his plans.

Each execution carefully chosen. Fear cloaked the kingdom. Yet, no external attacks or unrest occurred, giving the illusion of peace.

During that time, Agaba mobilized all 5800 active Idoma soldiers. Under the command of Abah, heir of the Ofu bloodline, they marched to the Tiv border.

But that night… the true face of Agaba revealed itself.

As the soldiers vanished into the distance, Agaba’s assassins struck. They slaughtered the descendants of Ofu bloodline in their homes - man, woman and infants.

By morning, the city reeled. How could such a horror unfold under the king’s nose? Then came the red-scarved men- swift, deadly, merciless - killing the remaining city guards that they spotted. The capital plunged into chaos.

At the palace gates. Agaba’s loyalists dragged the Ochi’doma and his family before the people.

High atop the palace steps, the king knelt beside his queen and children.

Agaba stepped forward, he announced his sinister plans, and how he had being carrying them out, at the end he announced,“I will reshape this world”, he declared. “And to do so, I must remove every obstacle. We cleanse them to rule the world!”

His followers chanted: “We cleanse them! We rule the world”

Just as the executioners raised their blades, the wind stilled. A second passed. Then…A savage gust tore through the rooftop.

A lone figure descended in a vortex of air, with a gesture of his fingers - Ode the descendant of Achadu - conjured the blades of Agaba’s executioners. They screamed - then turned their weapons on themselves. Blood stained the stones and gushed on the royal family.

Agaba roared and lunged forward. Ode raised his leg, and with the power of the wind, his kick sent Agaba flying down the palace entrance stairs.

Agaba crashed into the earth below. As he rose, bruised but burning with rage, Ode descended - his foot slamming him back down. Agaba’s remaining Soldiers attacked in unison. But Ode formed signs with his hands and split open the boundary between hell and earth - two different realms. The sky tore open.

Hell hovered above.

With a howl of the wind, Agaba and his loyalists were dragged upward - screaming, clawing for escape - but it was too late. Ode sealed the gate.

As he stood, eyes glowing while, his son, Olotu - watching from afar - was overtaken by the same vision.

The Eight Celestial gods spoke in Unison:

“This seal is temporary. You are but a mortal. Agaba shall return - stronger, angrier, and bloodthirsty. This is only the beginning”.

A desert appeared in the vision, A figure stood alone and afar.

A voice whispered; “the closer he draws, the nearer the seal’s breaking. Be ready”.

Ode awoke drenched in sweat.

To the crowd only a moment had passed.

Cheers erupted.

But beyond the celebration, darkness stirred.

Abah and his army were ambushed. Abah was slain, though none of the traitors survived to report back to Agaba. 4120 soldiers returned. They brought stories of the betrayal.

Years of fragile peace followed.

But after the deaths of Ode and the Ochi’doma, Agaba’s remnants struck again. They assassinated the High priest. They killed the next Ochi’doma and disrupted the sacred selection.

Olotu, the son of Ode, was able to steal something important -the Echur relic. He vanished, forced to live a life of secrecy.

The news of the bloodline purges leaked. Neighboring tribes descended on Idoma, plundering its lands.

The kingdom fell into darkness… a dark age that endures to this day.

By the 1800s, the British arrived. The fallen kingdom was absorbed and broken.

In the quaint city of modern Otukpo, Under the glowing moon, a young man stood behind his house, gasping for air.

The visions he saw weren’t dreams - they were memories, like echoes of a past he never lived… but was bound to.

He looked up at the stars.

The burden of destiny pressed down like a mountain.

A legacy not chosen, but inevitable,“is this my destiny?”
