"Hold on, sis. You mean that good for nothing has the guts to divorce you?" Sandra said in disbelief as she looked at Silvia sitting down with a dark expression.

Silvia didn't return last night and spend a night in the hotel with Davidson. After returning, she was expecting to see Felix cold and shivering laying in his heap of clothes at the front door while waiting for her but instead was meet with only the heap of his clothes.

When she stepped into the house and asked her family about it. She was told Felix only took his parents pictures and coat and coldly left which left her feeling infuriated.

She had pictured him on his knees by the gate, begging her not to go. Instead he had not even left a note.

Sandra curios couldn't help but ask Silvia if what Felix told them about their divorce was true and when Silvia confirmed it, Sandra and Harrison were left in shock.

"You mean the good for nothing dog our family have been feeding for how many years since his parents died have finally grown a spine and dare bite the fingers that feed him?"

"We took him in when nobody else would! We gave him a roof, three meals a day, and a place in my daughter's company place! And this is how he repays us? Truly an ungrateful dog!" Harrison cursed in anger.

"Not only that, father. He had the gut to get her pregnant before divorcing you. He wanted to ruin you all along. He wanted to leave my sister with a child and no husband, so the whole street could point and laugh at our family!" Sandra stomped her feet on the floor in anger.

Silvia was uncomfortable about the pregnancy, her family didn't know she cheated yet and she wasn't shameless enough to expose herself.

"You are right Sandra! No one dares defile my daughter and goes scout free! Where is he? I will hire thugs to go rough him up! I still know people who handle such things!"

Seeing how rattled the two were. Silvia took a deep breath before speaking.

"Forget about him. If we make a move it will look like we are bullying the poor. Beside, he quit his job, his family house is dilapidated, he abandoned his clothes. In short he is already below our eyes. Fighting him will bring us shame instead. Let him rot in that ruin. That alone is punishment enough."

Just when the mood inside the parlour was tense and sour. A rapid knock on the door made the three of them pause as they looked at each other, smugness in their eyes.

They weren't expecting anyone so the only person that must be knocking on their door was no one but Felix.

"Finally come to beg?" Sandra smiled and folded her arms. "I told you, father. A dog always crawls back."

Arranging his shirt, Harrison arrogantly walked towards the door and open it while saying, "no matter how far you run. A dog will always return to its... Eh? Neighbour Jane? What brought you here?"

The words about to come out of his lips were swallowed back as he saw the Victorious Street gossiping aunt standing by his door. Seeing her, he felt she must have already gotten words on the divorce.

Coldly he wanted to clear her off, "I know you're here to talk on the divorce but my daughter is..."

"Divorce? What divorce?" Aunt Jane looked at Harrison with a pity in her eyes as she sighed softly and said.

"Harrison you know my house is just behind that Felix late parents house right? Today I saw him brought in a construction project manager and told him he wants the house to be rebuilt and all. And do you know how much he wanted to pay? 4 million dollars for everything to be rebuilt."

"What the fuck did you just say?!" Harrison felt like his ears were deceiving him as he jolt in shock.

4 million dollars? Rebuilt a house? When did that wretch boy get such an amount from?

"You think I Jane will lie? Why don't you go and see for yourself? I just left him at the place and he is still talking to the man seemingly asking him where he can modify a ford 350 car and he doesn't care about spending another million on it."

Saying so, she looked at Harrison with pity in her eyes but behind the pity was mockery, "Harrison... Looks like your son-in-law or should I say ex son-in-law wasn't useless. What will you do now?"

Harrison hearing those words almost fainted in rage. How could he be calm hearing such words. He knew Jane. She was someone who likes to exaggerate a rumour but not by much. Meaning Felix must be spending at least over a million on that house.

That money belongs to his daughter!

They divorce at least he should have given her 50% of it! Fifty percent of four million dollars. Just like that, two million had walked out of his own gate last night, and he never even knew it was there.

"That bastard stole our family money to renovate his dead parents house? Nonsense! I will get him arrested!" It hasn't been more than 24 hours since the divorce.

Where could Felix easily get such amount quickly? So the only idea was he either has it way before the divorce!

Meaning it was marital properties!

Not wanting to delay and not even wearing his crock properly, the old man dashed out of the compound and dashed across the street towards Felix late parents house.

Right in time he saw the Mexican man entering a truck and leaving while Felix stood there.

It seems the news spread rapidly as others were just outside across the street congratulating Felix and even offering him word of advice.

Seeing this, Harrison felt like dying from rage.

Waking closer to Felix who stood calmly with a smile on his face which infuriates Harrison more and made him feel like punching him.

"Bastard... How dare you keep marital assets away from your wife?"

"My wife? That's odd. The last time I check. I was a divorcee just last night. How did I have a wife again?"

Felix tilted his head and smiled wider. "Strange, uncle. Yesterday I was a dog your family fed for free. Today I am family property worth million? I wonder what changed about me overnight."

The moment Felix said those words. Everyone looking at him immediately start talking. It was like they have seen an opportunity especially those old men whom their daughters haven't marry yet.

"So what if you're a divorcee? Does that exempt my daughter from the share of that money? Plus this is family property, you and my daughter have to share it 50/50 either through liquidity or anything!" Harrison was as shameless as his age and didn't even bother with people hearing them.

Silvia was truly furious. To her, Felix had always been nothing more than a free servant with a salary. The man worked under Davidson and earned ten thousand dollars a month, and every single month he handed eighty percent of it to her, no complaints, no questions. For what? For the honor of taking care of her and her family, of course. The remaining two thousand was barely enough for his need, which was exactly how much a man like him needed. On top of that, he handled all the house chores. The cooking, the washing, the cleaning, all of it. And now, with her pregnant, she had already been dreaming of the next stage. Felix, the free nanny. Felix, changing diapers at two in the morning while she and Davidson got their rest. It was going to be perfect. And now this useless man dared to divorce her?'So what if the child isn't yours?' she fumed as she slid into a taxi. I'm three months pregnant, and I'll give birth to our child in the next six months! You want your own flesh and blood to grow up in a broken home? How selfish can a man be?! Do you even hear yourself right now?""Uhm, Silvia..." Felix drawled lazily. "You're about to be promoted to manage the other branch of Star Corporation out of the city, right?""And it was Davidson who recommended you, right? I also heard Davidson is about to be promoted from director to managing director. I wonder... would the two of you still be climbing so beautifully if everyone found out you're adulterers?""Wha... What do you mean by that?" Silvia's usual aloof voice trembled."You don't need to know how I found out. Will you come to the divorce court right now? Yes or no?""... I will.""Now you're talking.
