Chapter 1: Humiliation

2:34 PM

Lois Angelis City, De Vegas Luxurious Hotel~

With an envelope in his hand, Rex who just stepped out of the taxi couldn't help but appreciate the towering ten-story skyscraper with the enormous sign hung on top which had the word 'De Vegas Luxurious Hotel' written on it in large, bold letters. The entire construction was made of glass from the outside, and the entrance was guarded by four burly men, despite the presence of CCTV cameras.

Without a moment to spare, he strode through the security door and into the foyer. As he approached the reception desk, he observed the woman seated behind it. She reclined in her chair with a composed professional demeanour,

Before he could speak, the woman spoke first.

"Welcome to the De Vegas Luxurious Hotel, Sir. How may I assist you?'' she said, her tone warm and professional.

''I'm here to deliver a message to a certain Sir Grey. Can you let him know that Rex, son-in-law of the Walker family, is here with a letter for him?"

''Certainly, sir. Just hold on a minute let me confirm it." After checking her computer she said with a professional smile,

"You can now go sir, The room number is suite 33. Just take the elevator," she said with a professional smile.

"Sure and thank you miss," Rex replied and headed straight towards the elevator.

2 minutes later,

Stepping out of the elevator Rex took a look at the corridor with 18 rooms on both sides. He strolled across it until he was able to locate room suite 33.

Knock!

Knock!!

Knock!!!

"Sigh, just a moment, I will be there!" A deep male voice shouted from the other side. After a few seconds, the door was opened. Rex looked at the young black American man standing at the door with a towel around his waist and his upper body bare.

His wet locks were cropped and curled, styled in a manner that accentuated his striking features. His gaze was dark and piercing, the prideful spark within them undeniable that even Rex found it annoying.

His physique was tall and sinewy about 6 feet tall, his figure muscular and statuesque. His shoulders were broad and sturdy, and his limbs were still and poised.

_A typical athletic figure._ Rex thought subconsciously.

"How may I help you?" The young man asked with a vexed expression, clearly, he was busy with something inside before being interrupted.

"I was told to send this package to one certain Sir Grey," Rex replies, ignoring the rudeness of the man.

Grey showed a surprised expression before lowering his voice and asking in a tone that sounded more like a whisper. "You're Rex, the live-in son-in-law of the Walker's family?"

"Yes, I am."

"Great, honey, the delivery is here!" Grey yelled, seemingly calling his partner.

"I'm coming, babe." The voice response, Rex frowned subconsciously as he couldn't help but feel like the voice sounded super familiar.

Shortly a curvaceous female in a short towel showing half her breast and reaching her lap stepped out of the door.

As soon as her eyes and Rex's own made contact it was as if time halted.

Rex was shocked, petrified to the point of dropping the certain package he was supposed to deliver. On the other hand, the girl was shocked.

"Silvia!" He yelled, anger blazing in his eyes, completely ignoring the man. How can't he know her?

That's his wife, the woman he cherished with all his heart now in a room with a strange man and both of them are on their towels!

Even a man with a -10 IQ will know what they are doing or about to do.

Silvia felt shocked at seeing Rex, then ashamed at being caught and finally angry at being shouted at by her useless husband.

"Wh... what are you doing here Rex?" She couldn't help but shudder as she asked.

Meanwhile, Sir Grey who was totally ignored by the couples couldn't help but smile in a barely noticeable way, his hand moved towards Silvia's butt as he squeeze it softly and ask, "Babe, do you know this man?"

Rex who saw this whole scene felt his spirit leaving his body out of anger, he just wished to punch Grey right in the face.

He has never gotten the chance to touch her that way as his wife has always given him a cold shoulder.

He could endure being looked down on by his in-laws and even being mocked for him as long as he can stay with his wife, nothing matters. But seeing her, the reason he endured all those humiliating scenes with another man pains him so badly that he finds it hard to breathe.

"Silvia! How dare you?! I thought you were different from others!" He yelled with veins showing on his forehead, "I did everything to make you happy and this is how you pay me back?!"

"Don't you dare lie Rex!" Silvia pointed her finger at him as she retorted with her icy voice, "Just tell me what have you done to make me happy huh? Rather you brought shame and mockery on me. I should be blaming my younger self for making such a mistake all because of love. Do you know how I get mocked at home all because my so-called husband is useless? Do you know how many of my friends abandoned me? Do you know how I always bow my head in shame whenever I wonder about the city? What have I not endured because I hope you will do better?"

Thinking back to all this she couldn't help but tremble in anger and the next thing she did stupefied Rex.

She spits on him out of anger and storms back to the room leaving only Rex and Grey outside.

"Ahem, I guess she is your wife?" Grey asked with a hint of mockery. It was obvious that Silvia is his wife so what's with the question?

Rex who was spiritless after such an incident looked at the young man once again. He couldn't help but have a deep suspicion that all of it was Grey's plan.

Suddenly as if he remembered something he asked, "You're Grey Lucas?"

"Oh, seems I'm so famous. Yes, I am." With a surprised look at being recognized, he affirmed Rex's thought.

_I should have known, Grey, the charming playboy. Son of Lucas, the multi-billionaire and one of Silvia's admirals._ Rex thought as he took a deep breath to suppress his anger.

"Oh, seems I will be late for an important meeting again. Better get dressed but, thinking back to how your wife ride me like an energetic horse makes me glad, wish she was single I would have loved her and if you don't believe me, I did record it for you to hear." With a smirk, Grey said out of the blue and shut the door at the now boiling Rex.

Just before Rex knows it, Grey returns with his phone and plays audio for Rex to hear.

As soon as Rex heard the sound of flesh clapping and the loud moan of a voice he was 99% sure was his wife he couldn't help but vomit blood.

His anger reached a certain limit he could take, he had already been clinging on a hope that they hadn't done it just yet and he might have ruined the mood but instead, it turned out he was late.

"Hahaha, fun right? Damn, she's one hell of a rider." Grey said, adding gas to the already unquenchable flame.

Just when Rex wants to grab Grey in the throat he earned a punch right on his abdomen from Grey and the next minute securities storm in and drag him by the collar towards the exit door.

This couldn't help but further humiliate him as he found himself being dragged like a bag of goods and before he knew it he was kicked on the butt and sent flying out of the hotel under the watchful eyes of the citizens passing by.

The laughter and mocking words from them made him so embarrassed.

_I hate this feeling with my blood!_ Rex grits his teeth out of anger.

With his head held low, he stopped a taxi and headed straight towards a hospital. Thinking about his little sister, a soft sigh escaped his lips. It had been 4 days since the hospital kept disturbing him to come pick her up if he couldn't afford the bills, at the mere thought of it he could not bear to go see her face.

With shame, he stopped the taxi halfway right on top of the bridge.

"Since I can not live a good life, why not leave it?"

But just when he wanted to jump, his phone rang...
