“No! No! Doctor, my daughter’s still breathing! Please, save her!” the woman cried out in desperation.

But the doctor only frowned and said coldly, “Her bones are shattered, all her organs have been pierced. There’s no saving her. Just sign the paperwork.”

“No!”

The woman collapsed to the floor, barely caught by the man beside her.

Melanie Oakley rushed forward and helped her up.

He knew the truth—at this point, their daughter was as good as gone.

“Enough already! This is a hospital, not a funeral. If you want to cry, do it elsewhere,” the doctor snapped impatiently. “Sign the forms. Pay the fees.”

Anthony’s brows furrowed deeply.

He could understand that the doctors couldn’t save her, but this man’s attitude—wasn’t it just too heartless?

Melanie’s expression also turned icy as she glared at the doctor. “What kind of doctor are you? My sister just died, and all you care about is money? Do you have no conscience at all?”

He had never doubted Anthony’s words. If Anthony could spot an issue at a glance, he surely knew the root of the problem.Anthony replied calmly, “It’s missing something. And I’m the only one who knows what that something is.”In this world, how many true mystical practitioners were there? So far, Anthony hadn’t met a single one. But that didn’t mean they didn’t exist. His master had once told him that in Ardenia, two hidden sects—one in the north, one in the south—were true mystical clans. But those people rarely appeared in the mortal world. If the chance arose, Anthony wouldn’t mind testing his skills against them.Though honestly, he didn’t see them as a threat.Aaron Ellison scoffed. “Our Ellison family has its own dedicated alchemist. Aren’t you afraid of throwing your back out, talking like that, Vice President Jones?”Anthony replied with indifference, “Your alchemist ruined the formula.”Aaron’s eyes narrowed, suspicion flashing in his gaze.He sneered, “Vice President Jones,

Save my daughter!”At his words, all eyes turned to the little girl in his arms.Raymond’s expression changed dramatically. The girl’s face was darkened, her breathing weak, and her exposed hands were already turning a bluish-purple.This was clearly a case of severe poisoning! The toxins had already spread, and her condition was critical. The others exchanged uneasy looks.“Looks like the mayor’s daughter is in deep trouble.”“Yeah… her breathing is faint, her face is discolored—this is bad.”Whispers rippled through the crowd. But none of them dared to make a move. With so many master physicians from the Medical Association in attendance, surely one of them would step up.Besides, judging by the girl’s condition, there was little they could do.Even Raymond’s heart skipped a beat. This level of poisoning—she was teetering on the edge of death. The odds of saving her were sli
