The "Olive Branch," a trendy, sun-drenched restaurant just off campus, boasted a discreet private dining room. Aria smoothed down her dress, a silk number she’d picked up at a boutique last month, and took a deep breath before entering. Inside, Beatrice, Chloe, and Daphne were already seated around a polished wooden table, a trio of forced smiles aimed her way.

"Aria! So glad you could make it," Beatrice chirped, her tone a little too bright. "We were starting to think you’d forgotten about your old friends." Beatrice and the girls planned to act nonchalant, as if there had not betrayed Aria at the party and hoping that she would be too embarrassed to try and confront them.

"Of course not," Aria replied sarcastically, pulling out a chair. "Things have just been… hectic." Aria knew the girls wanted to act like there did not betray her at the bar. She had plan to brush it off  and if there asked for forgiveness, she had also plan on forgiving them. But, until then she will play along with there ignorance game.

Chloe, ever the observant one, raised an eyebrow. "Hectic how? Jet-setting with your billionaire boyfriend?"

"He's not a billionaire," Aria corrected automatically, again playing along as she knew there were referring to Damon sarcastically.

Daphne snorted softly. "Oh, come on, Aria. Everyone’s talking about it. The rise of the rich pauper, Damon Newton … it’s a bit much, isn't it?"

Aria forced a smile. "It's just… different. Damon is unlike any guy I have ever met."

A server arrived, and after a moment of awkward silence, they ordered. As soon as the server left, the atmosphere shifted.

"So," Beatrice began, leaning forward, "tell us everything. What's it like, living the low life?"

"It's… nice," Aria said cautiously, determine to beat the girls at their own game. "But it's not just about the money. Damon's really…"

"Really what?" Chloe interrupted, her eyes narrowed, she was getting annoyed at how nonchalant Aria was to all their taunts. "Really in love with you? Or really in love with showing you off?"

Aria bristled and smirk slightly. "That's not fair, Chloe. Damon cares about me."

"Does he?" Daphne chimed in, swirling the water in her glass. "Or does he just care about having a pretty accessory on his arm? Someone to impress his new friends?"

"He's not like that," Aria insisted, her voice rising slightly. "You don't even know him."

"Don't we?" Beatrice countered, a glint in her eye. "We've heard things, Aria. Rumors. About his past."

"Rumors?" Aria scoffed. "What rumors?"

"Oh, you know," Chloe said vaguely. "Whispers about where he got his money. About his… business dealings."

"Implying what?" Aria challenged, her patience wearing thin.

Daphne leaned back in her chair, a smug look on her face. "Just saying, it all seems a little too good to be true, doesn't it? One minute he's a struggling student, the next he's throwing around money like it's water. It doesn't add up."

"Maybe he won the lottery," Beatrice suggested with a saccharine smile. "That would explain it, wouldn't it? Just a lucky guy."

"Or maybe," Chloe added, her voice laced with malice, "he's not as honest as he seems."

Aria slammed her hand on the table, the silverware rattling. She was willing to play along with the girls stupid antics, but there crossed the line by trying to discredit Damon, "That's enough!" she exclaimed, her eyes flashing. "I'm not going to sit here and listen to you trash-talk Damon. You're just jealous because he's successful and I'm happy."

"Jealous?" Daphne laughed. "Of what? His ill-gotten gains? Your newfound status as a trophy girlfriend?"

"We're just concerned, Aria," Beatrice said, her tone falsely sympathetic. "We don't want to see you get hurt. That why we supported Ernie at the bar, to show you that Damon's playing you."

"He's not playing me!" Aria insisted, her voice trembling. "He loves me. And I love him."

"Love?" Chloe scoffed. "Please. It's just a matter of time before he dumps you for someone prettier, richer, and more… experienced. You're just a placeholder, Aria. Don't you see that?"

Fury welled up in Aria's eyes. She hated this. She hated their condescending tone, their thinly veiled insults, their blatant jealousy. She wanted to defend Damon, to defend herself, but she was outnumbered, overwhelmed. Their taunts where finally getting to her.

"You're wrong," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "You're all wrong."

"Are we?" Beatrice challenged, leaning closer. "Then prove it, Aria. Prove that Damon's not just using you. Prove that he's not hiding something. Prove that you're not just a social climber who's desperate for attention."

Aria opened her mouth to respond, but no words came out. She was trapped, cornered, defeated, after all she really did not know anything about Damon’s private life or how he amassed such wealth in such short time.

"I…" she stammered, her voice barely audible.

"That's what I thought," Daphne said, a triumphant smirk on her face.

Just then, a voice cut through the tension, calm and collected.

"Actually," Damon said, stepping into the room, "I think Aria has proven quite enough."

The silence in the woodhurst academy auditorium had been broken only by a ragged breath coming out of Brenda Harrow's throat, and she thought Dr Grayson would be the last to say it: "You are out here, Brenda. Effective immediately. "While Brenda was still reeling from the slap on her face she finally spoke. This time, with a voice tinged with some kind of anger and doubt. 'You can't do this! ' she said, her eyes wandering around the room. 'I'm the principal! I have the power! 'Dr Grayson had the most frigid voice I've ever heard. "Not anymore, Brenda, because you lost your right to be head of this school. She turned, then, to Mr. Abernathy, chairman of the board, who nodded grimly at his own motion. "The board is in favour of Dr Grayson's judgement, " he told her, his voice authoritative. "Ms. Harrow, you have been relieved of your duties as principal of Woodhurst Academy. "Brenda's face crumpled. "But... but what about the school, what about my reputation? "Grayson's eyes were fi

Newton orchestrated this!"As Dr. Grayson coolly presented evidence of Brenda's financial improprieties and the other teachers' ethical lapses, Damon stood silently, watching the scene unfold. His mind, however, drifted back to the weeks leading up to this moment, to the meticulous planning and strategic maneuvering that had brought him here.**(Flashback)***Weeks Earlier*Damon sat in his Master bedroom, the glow of his laptop illuminating his face. Felix paced back and forth, his brow furrowed with concern."Are you sure about this, Mr.Newton?" Felix asked, his voice laced with worry. "Going up against the entire administration? It's risky."Damon's fingers danced across the keyboard as he accessed the Wealth Generation System. "I don't have a choice, Felix, also call me Damon from now on, Mr.

She looked at a group of students who were waiting in the wings. "These students came forward to share their experiences with Mr. Newton, and therefore they will give indisputable proof of his guilt.Damon remained composed, his eyes fixed on Brenda. "Before you call your witnesses Miss Harrow I would like to call a couple of people to speak on my behalf. "Brenda laughed. Her eyes quivered in disbelief. “You trust us to think that anyone would come to defend you, Mr Newton, after all the trouble you’ve caused? ”She raised her hand in dismissal of his demand but, before she could say anything, the doors of the auditorium slid open and all faces turned back to the door.He turned, grimaced, and took a step into the room. Behind him, a well-dressed woman in a size-suited suit stood a renowned lawyer, Mr. Howard, with his briefcase.Brenda's eyes twinkled in shock. "What the fuck is this? The auditorium at Woodhurst Academy was filled with excitement and anticipation. Lots of folding chairs lined up with students, teachers, and staff. They looked at questions alike with curiosity but also morbid fascination. The air was filled with whispers. " Did he really cheat? " " Is he getting expelled? " " I read he bribed a teacher! "At the very front of the room, on a raised platform, stood Brenda Harrow, her lips sunken with a self-congratulatory smile. Behind her at the corners were Mr. Langley, Ms. Patel, and Mrs. Ellis, who radiated a sense of justification. A long table sat before them, before which was alone Damon, his smile so tranquil he could not make out the details.Brenda threw a gavel at the podium, making waves in the hall. “We’re now in session for this disciplinary hearing, ” Brenda mumbled, loudly demanding an approving audience. “We are here with serious allegations of misconduct against Damon Newton. ”She turned to Damon and her frosty eyes bulged. Brenda Harrow’s office was silent except for the tick of the brass clock on her shelf. Damon sat on the edge of a stiff chair across from her desk, his back straight, hands folded in his lap. Four teachers flanked Brenda like a tribunal, papers and folders stacked before them. Brenda shuffled her notes, then fixed Damon with a frosty glare.“Mr. Newton,” Brenda began, her voice clipped, “we’re here to discuss grave matters concerning your conduct at Woodhurst Academy.”Damon didn’t flinch. “I’m aware you asked me here, Ms. Harrow. But no one’s told me what I’m accused of.”Mr. Langley snorted. “Playing innocent already.”Brenda ignored the interruption. “Let’s begin. Last week, you achieved a perfect score on Dr. Patel’s chemistry exam. Isn’t that right?”Damon nodded. “I studied hard.”Ms. Patel arched a brow. “You expect us to believe that?”Damon’s gaze didn’t waver. “Yes. I do.”Brenda leaned back, lacing her fingers. “We have reason to believe you obtained the answers in advance,

Brenda Harrow’s office door clicked shut. Heavy velvet curtains blocked out the campus afternoon sun. Around the polished mahogany table, five teachers perched on the edge of their seats, all eyes fixed on the principal as she poured herself a cup of tea, her lips tugged into a tight, disapproving line. The teachers where approached by Xavier and Ernie’s parents, after there were both humiliated by Damon. The parent gave instructions for Mrs. Brenda Harrow to get rid of Damon.“Thank you for coming,” Brenda began, her voice icy. “You all know why we’re here.”Mr. Langley, the strict Latin teacher, scoffed. “Because of Damon Newton.”Ms. Patel, Chemistry, folded her arms. “He’s everywhere: the club rosters, the debate team, even that ridiculous ‘student business’ he runs. The other students are starting to idolize him.”Brenda set her teacup down with a thunk. “That’s precisely the problem. He’s become a… symbol. And not for the values we stand for at Woodhurst Academy.”Mrs. Ellis, Hi
