Ryan’s fingers trembled as he dug the metal disc out of the packed earth. Using the edge of his sleeve, he carefully rubbed away a century's worth of black grime. As the dirt flaked off, the silver edge of a historic liberty bust gleamed beneath the afternoon sun. The floating blue system tag flickered aggressively, confirming the data: an authentic 1804 silver dollar.

He didn't hesitate. Clutching the coin tightly in his fist, he grabbed his backpack and headed straight toward the downtown financial district. He needed cash today. If he didn't pay his sister’s college tuition by midnight, she would be expelled.

Forty minutes later, Ryan stood before the towering glass facade of the Prestige Chronicle Auction House—the premier luxury brokerage for historical relics in the city.

Taking a deep breath, he pushed through the rotating glass doors. The lobby was pristine, smelling of polished mahogany and wealth. Men in tailor-made suits and women adorned in diamonds glided across the marble floor. Ryan, still wearing his grass-stained polo and dusty sneakers from the golf course, stuck out like a glaring stain on a white canvas.

He walked up to the grand reception desk, where a sharply dressed front desk manager was typing on a tablet.

"Excuse me," Ryan said politely, keeping his voice low. "I have a rare historical artifact I’d like to submit for immediate appraisal and sale."

The manager slowly raised his head. His eyes swept over Ryan’s scuffed shoes, his faded backpack, and the dirt under his fingernails. A look of profound disgust crossed the man's face. He didn't even bother to stand up.

"Kid, the recycling center is three blocks down the street," the manager sneered, waving his hand dismissively. "We don't buy scrap metal or aluminum cans here. This is an elite establishment. Leave before I call security to escort you out."

Ryan didn't flinch. He was done letting arrogant elites walk all over him. "I'm not here to sell scrap. I have an uncirculated 1804 silver dollar. Look up your own records—you haven't auctioned one of these in a decade."

The manager let out a sharp, mocking laugh. "An 1804 silver dollar? There are less than fifteen known copies in existence worldwide, each worth a fortune. And you expect me to believe a penniless brat found one in his pocket? Get real. It's a cheap counterfeit. Security!"

Two burly guards in black suits immediately stepped forward from the pillars, their faces grim as they reached for Ryan's arms.

Suddenly, Ryan's vision flashed with a bright amber light. A brand-new system interface popped up, targeting the manager himself:

[Target: Front Desk Manager (Dennis Lowe).]

[Secret Data: Currently embezzling $12,000 from the company ledger. Hidden asset: A counterfeit Rolex on his left wrist.]

[Weakness: Terrified of the corporate audit scheduled for tomorrow morning.]

A cold, confident smile spread across Ryan's face. He stepped back from the guards and looked Dennis straight in the eye. "If I were you, Dennis, I’d worry less about my coin and more about the twelve thousand dollars missing from the ledger accounts. I wonder what the board of directors will say during tomorrow morning's audit?"

The manager froze. The color drained from his face instantly, leaving him ghost-white. The tablet slipped from his fingers, clattering loudly against the desk. "You... how do you..."

"What is going on here?"

A commanding, melodic voice echoed through the lobby. The crowd parted as a stunning woman stepped forward. She wore an immaculate, tailored charcoal suit, her dark hair pinned up elegantly. Her aura was intensely professional, radiating absolute authority.

Dennis scrambled to his feet, bowing so low his nose nearly touched the desk. "CEO Vance! I apologize for the noise! This... this trespasser was just causing trouble—"

[Target: CEO Victoria Vance.]

[Hidden Observation: Seeking a genuine historical center-piece for the upcoming Global Heritage Gala to save the auction house’s falling stocks. Current mood: High stress.]

Victoria ignored the stuttering manager completely. Her sharp eyes scanned Ryan, pausing on his calm demeanor despite his messy clothes. "You mentioned an 1804 silver dollar?"

"I did," Ryan said calmly. He opened his palm, revealing the dark, silver coin. "A genuine Class I specimen. I'm looking for an immediate buyout, not a delayed auction."

Victoria’s eyes narrowed. She took a specialized magnifying jeweler’s loupe from her pocket and stepped closer to Ryan. As she inspected the coin in his hand, her breathing visibly hitched. The specific mint marks, the weight distribution, the lettering—it was flawless.

"Dennis," Victoria said, her voice dropping to a freezing register. "Pack your things. You are fired immediately. Security, escort him out."

"Ms. Vance! Please!" Dennis begged, but the guards quickly grabbed him and dragged him away, crying out in panic.

Victoria turned back to Ryan, a polished, professional smile replacing her cold expression. "My deepest apologies for the behavior of my staff, Mr...?"

"Ryan. Just Ryan."

"Well, Ryan, you have just brought me exactly what I needed to save our quarterly catalog," Victoria said, her eyes shining with excitement. "A coin of this rarity easily commands a baseline premium. I can offer you a direct corporate buyout of forty-five thousand dollars right now. Do we have a deal?"

Ryan felt a rush of absolute triumph swell in his chest. Just an hour ago, he was penniless and thrown into the dirt. Now, the head of the city's largest auction house was offering him a fortune.

"We have a deal," Ryan replied smoothly.
