Jack slowly came out of hiding and then chose not to meet his grandfather.

The young man then went upstairs and into his room again.

Edna, the butler saw the young man and immediately knocked on his door and as soon as she was let in she stood looking at the young master with a questioning gaze.

"What is it, Edna?" Jack asked in an astonished tone.

Edna bowed slowly and said, "I saw you wanting to see Mr. Hugh earlier. Was there any problem that prevented you from seeing him, Young Master?"
