Chapter 7701
Barlin's convoy never noticed anything, even when the Americans were just a couple of miles away and closing in, but Barlin himself was sharp enough to sense them.Hearing the rumble and feeling the vibration of diesel engines, he paled and cried out, "Incoming! At least… eight cars!""Really?" Kohei was baffled. "Looks quiet to me, my lord."Barlin gritted his teeth grimly. "Oh, you will see them too soon enough. I have a bad feeling about this… It's like a viper has its eyes on me.""What?!" Kohei blurted in shock. "Wait, they could have locked on to us already?!""Locked on…?" Barline repeated, frowning. "As in, they know where we are?!"Kohei nodded. "Yes! This is basically a civilian vehicle so radar lock is easy. Once locked, we're not getting away." Barlin promptly bellowed, "Then move! Turn south and go as fast as you can! Shake them off!"The driver did as told, spinning the wheel to turn the tractor around as the rest of the convoy followed at top speed. However, th
Chapter 7700
It would still take at least five days for Barlin to return to the Griffin Winter Manor. On the other hand, the second transport fleet the Americans sent had already arrived, camping at the only path between Barlin's convoy and the Japanese research base. This time, they weren't airdropping personally but multiple M1128 Strykers and the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), along with supporting recon vehicles. The Strykers were equipped with miniguns, grenade launchers, and a 105mm tank gun barrel capable of covering anything the HIMARS couldn't hit. In addition, the reconnaissance vehicles were equipped with high-power, high-precision radar capable of detecting and locking onto mobile targets from dozens of miles away for precision strikes. After landing safely, these vehicles immediately took cover behind a hill, with their radars operating at full power as they waited in ambush for the Japanese convoy. Goro and the Japanese negotiating team would arrive on th
Chapter 7699
Barlin nodded in agreement. "You're right. You're all my loyal lackeys who'd never betray me… Even so, there's no assurance that the Japanese government somehow noticed something strange because someone made a mistake. It has been a long trip to get here anyway, and there's inevitably some tiny slip-up in between."Kohei nodded emphatically. "We've done our best to prevent our government from noticing anything. But there's only that much prudence and technology can achieve—there's no such thing as being a hundred percent sure."Barlin sighed nervously. "If my hunch is right, both the Americans and Japan know about us, so they would definitely come to investigate. That means the American army will chase us all the way back to my manor, and that's going to be bothersome…"Kohei nodded again. "Your concerns might not be unwarranted, my lord. If the government finds out, they would deem us all hostile and investigate what happened.Barlin asked nervously, "What about me? What should I
Chapter 7698
Even as Barlin fled in panic, he never could have expected to find himself fleeing before he even made his attempt to invade and bend the American Antarctic research crew to his will.On the way back to Griffin Winter Manor, he cursed under his breath, "Goddamn Americans. It's not that big of a deal, but they are sending in their whole goddamn army!"A century ago, he really wouldn't worry about having to fight an army—guns and artillery were no threat for a cultivator of his caliber. But after going into seclusion, he returned only to be informed that modern firepower had surpassed what cultivation could ever achieve, with their ordnance now capable of flattening entire cities. He also heard that one of the Qing Eliminating Society earls had been killed by something called a CIWS. The man had stood valiantly after a few rounds, but the hundred shots that came after shot him into tiny pieces. That was why even Barlin didn't hesitate to run, leaving the ever-loyal Kohei frowning in
Chapter 7697
Barlin almost suffered a stroke at that moment. He had been staying in this constantly rocking ice tractor for days, but now that they finally closed in on McMurdo base, the Americans sent in their army?!Frontal assault was pointless when his only option was to sneak in and bend everyone inside to his will, without anyone noticing. However, they were clearly ready for him. At this point, even if he rushed into the base and brainwashed everyone, the Americans would only send more troops. He was a one-man army, but there was only that much he could take.Turning to Kohei, he asked, "What do you think we should do?"Kohei replied without hesitation, "The best move is to retreat. We can't afford a direct confrontation with the Americans."Seething, Barlin bellowed, "You mean we came all the way here for nothing?!"Kohei nodded. "Actually, that might be for the best. I'm more worried that they won't stop at sending reinforcements to their base, but chase after us to interrogate us.
Chapter 7696
Barlin's patience wore thin, and he was ready to leap out of the ice tractor, charge straight into McMurdo Base and mind-bend everyone. It was the quickest solution, but the loyal Kohei stopped him."My lord, please calm down!" he exclaimed. "The fact that they're keeping their radar on full power meant they were on high alert and clearly ready for us. They might even have notified their government with radar imaging and the like. If you go now, the Pentagon will see you even before you get close. It's all the more troublesome if they find out what you really are!"Barlin growled through his teeth, "You said 'relatively friendly'!!! Why are they ready for us instead?!""I'm not sure myself," Kohei replied, shaking his head. "National relations aren't the same as relations between the research bases here. We are all supposed to be friends on this continent so we can count on each other when it matters… So they should have been coming out to receive us with open arms. It doesn't mak

Who is in charge. This 2 chapters a day really sucks. It’s a great book, but your dragging it. Put out more chapters already. DAMN!!!!!!!!!
This really sucks.
I have enjoyed this book but waiting for a couple of short chapters a day is getting really boring……shame cause it’s a great read
what happen???why only 2 chapter
I hope whoever is posting these chapters dies a slow and painful death. This is bullshit.
And they get our money. We must be fools waste so much money and time on this crap. Almost 2 years FFS.
Please complete the posting of the rest of the chapters.
So like people like to read. and get hooked. books are great because they're usually complete. It's not like a weekly TV show. So... I'm confused with this process. Why do we have to keep restarting our imaginations for two chapters a day?
I invest all my free time in the books to be able to reach the end of the story quickly and at my convenience now I have to wait to have two chapters. I am really disappointed and frustrated to see the way the book is updated. I really like the story but regret being invested so much time.
The only way that this book can end and I hope you can all agree with me, is that Charlie finds everyone who has to do with writing these Books and teach them a Fuc!ing lesson. How dare they treat us so unfairly.
This was disappointing. I really like this story, but 2 short chapters each day has gotten old.
This chapter was due 3 weeks and it’s still not wrapped up. I will be giving another poor review. Again
I don't even need to use my points, daily activity is enough to read the two chapters.
Even if we call them dogs, they don’t care because they are thick face, shameless.
Hahaha disappointment is real lol
Let’s not ecpect too much from them, Amporn. Otherwise we will just become frustrated. They don’t care at all.
I give up. GN you are a real piece of work ...
Very true, Ronae…not worth it at all.
It was short..but it was still good..I do hope they extend our reading to more complete chapters, but I do appreciate that at least its updated daily..its been a long story and want to get thru the story, before I even dream of reading another..I finally had to quit 1,repeating scenerios
well can we have more longer chapters tomorrow please?
great story
It was fun reading. ...
these chapters not worth the wait
