CHAPTER 10: Unforeseen Situation

Lana woke up to find herself in a dark room with her hands tied. She tried to move, but she couldn’t. She looked around, and everything was dark and silent. She couldn’t even see a thing. Suddenly, she saw some rays of light and heard the sound of heavy metal. She looked in that direction, and the door creaked open with a loud cry. She quickly pretended to be asleep.

“Wake her up,” she heard that cold voice as some cold water was splashed on her. She jumped up abruptly as the guards untied her hands.

“Where is Vincent!” Celeste inquired, sitting majestically in front of the already-drenched Lana.

“So Vincent has already escaped” Lana asserted internally with a smile.

Celeste angrily stood up and gave her a good slap across the face. “You Crazy freak, I am asking you a question and you are still bold enough to smile”.

Lana looked at her with teary eyes, her face already red from the slap. But there is nothing she could do After all, it's all a payback for what she did to Vincent. “Am Sorry Mrs Celeste!” but I did not know where Vincent was. She finally managed to let out as she couldn't hold the tears again she let it flow easily.

“So you expect me to believe that crocodile tears coming out of your eyes right!?” You Called him yesterday and after that he broke his phone and started acting suspicious till he disappeared. He also dropped a letter that he needed to leave for something and he will be back and you are still adamant that you are innocent Celeste yelled in anger.

“Yes! I called him to ask about his safety but I don't know how he disappeared” Lana replied, still crying profusely.

“Remove her nails with the pliers Celeste declared getting on her feet and turning her back towards her”. Lana is still so young and she is even a year younger than Mia and even at that Celeste dislikes her for being a stripper at such a young age. Also, for her to own that huge club she must be backed by one of the men she slept with which seems so disgusting to Celeste.

The guards grabbed Lana and forcefully pressed the plier on her nail removing it cruelly. She screamed in pain as blood dripped from her hand.

“Please! I really don't know where Vincent is. Please spare me!! She begged as they pressed the plier on her other finger”.

“Stop!! Celeste Commanded and bent down in front of her. She tugged some strands of her hair behind her ear”. “I also don't want to hurt you this way but you forced me to. Now tell me where he is”. She asked calmly.

“I swear on my dead parent's body I don't know where he is”. Lana begged again with tears.

“I warned you! Celeste shouted in anger, Signalling to the guards to continue”.

Just then tons of guards rushed in and pointed their guns at Celeste's guards while they all did the same.

“This is getting interesting! Celeste laughed as she sat back on her chair with crossed legs waiting for their boss. Bradford also stood tall by her side watching the whole drama”.

Mike and his assistant walked in Majestically and stopped in front of Celeste. She expects him to talk rudely but she is surprised by what he did instead.

Mike bowed to Celeste and greeted her with respect. “Good morning!” Mrs Brooks I am so sorry to disturb you but I would like to take your captive with me. He said with a smile”.

Celeste looked at him for a while without saying a word. “He looks so young and calm” but she believes he is so mischievous deep down. He looked the same age as hers but he respected her this way. There is no doubt Lana is his mistress.

“And what if I don't!” Celeste replied, still maintaining her cold aura.

There is nothing I could do if you don't but remember we might need each other in the future. Am the youngest son of the Carter’s family and you are the eldest daughter of the Brooks family Although the two families are never friends we might be after this. “What did you think? Mrs Brooks”.

“So you are the youngest son of the Carter family?? No wonder you are so brave. Your family has stayed hidden for years without meddling in the outer business. Why are you suddenly interested in making a deal with me now!?” Celeste inquired with a smirk.

“Not exactly! I only came here with the intention of getting Lana but I know it wouldn't be as easy as I thought that’s why I propose the deal”. Mike explained with a smile.

“Alright, I will hand her over to you but on the condition that you introduce me to your elder brother, I will like to negotiate with him instead”.

“My brother?? That's not a problem. I will arrange your meeting”. Mike replied with a smile. Lana looked at them with teary eyes. “How will Celeste feel if she knew Vincent is the brother in question!?” She thought in her head.

“Then we have a deal!” Celeste replied and shook hands with him. His guards took Lana and they left without causing any trouble.

“Why did you release her!?” Bradford quickly asked after he confirmed Mike and his underlings were gone.

“It's a trap! Everybody knows the first son of The Carter is arrogant and will never stoop so low to a cheap deal and moreover they are not even close. Then if he couldn't drag him to me I will have to erase Lana completely”. Celeste laughed Sarcastically as she walked towards her car with Bradford trailing behind.

“You really are something! Putting him and Lana in a tight spot. That is, If he really wants to save his mistress he should bow to his elder brother”. Bradford praised with a smile.

“Take care!” I will resume fully tomorrow she said and unlocked her car to enter but she suddenly slipped and almost fell as Bradford quickly caught her before she could.

“Are you okay!?” He asked as he put her down.

“I don't know!?” I have just been feeling nauseous since this morning. I think I should visit the hospital.

Then let me drop you at the hospital before going back to the company. Bradford replied and quickly helped her in the back seat while he occupied the driver seat.

They got to the hospital and the doctor examined her then he told them to wait for the result before discharging her.

A few minutes later, He came back with the result and handed it over to Celeste.

She received it and thanked the doctor with a smile but when she examined it her emotions changed drastically.

She covered her mouth immediately as tears began to well up in her eyes. Her breath hitched in her throat as the room spun just a little.

“No…” she whispered, her voice shaky and low.

Her chest tightened, and her pulse pounded in her ears. She blinked rapidly, trying to make sense of it, but the truth was there in black and white. She shot to her feet, her chair scraping loudly against the tiled floor.

“This isn’t mine!” she screamed, shoving the paper back at the doctor. “It can’t be mine!”
