CHAPTER 11: Shocking Truth

Mike and Lana entered his car after Celeste let them go. Lana was lost in deep thought as the car sped along the road.

“ You told her you would let her meet Vincent? Do you even know where he is? How can you find him?” She asked, looking at him like he was a fool.

Mike’s gaze sharpened, “ I did that to save you, if I hadn't done it, you might be dead by now,” he growled.

Lana sneered, folding her hands. She didn't beg him to save her, and she didn't send for him, so why was he making it look like he cared for her?

“ I didn't ask for your help. You chose to come on your own” she said and Mike slapped her across the face. His face was red with anger.

“ You bitch..” he said, seething. “ You can now talk back to me? How dare you”

Lana lowered her head, her eyes watery with tears.

“ So you now support him? You support Vincent and not me ?” Mike barked.

“ I didn't support anyone… You just made a deal with her, how are you ..” Mike cut her off with another slap. Her eyes were reddening.

She sniffled back her tears, her eyes red. Good! She deserved the slap. She was nobody after all, just his mistress. She deserved to be slapped a million times.

Mike grabbed her face, looking into her eyes, “Don't you dare question me again. Do you understand?!” He barked and Lana immediately nodded, tears rolling down her cheek.

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Celeste couldn't believe her eyes. She had gone to find Vincent, but all of a sudden, she received this news.

How was she going to handle this?

She folded the document and started walking back to her car, her eyes red. Her legs were shaking and she was not walking very well.

She forced herself into the car and immediately drove back home. She needed rest! She wanted to think of her life.

She reached the mansion and saw her family outside. Victor looked like he was saying something to her grandfather while her father just sat beside him, a smile etched on his face.

Victor turned and saw her and his face fell slightly, he walked up to her but she was already tired and was heading straight inside.

Victor looked like he wanted to say something but he bit his tongue and held it back. “ You ... you are back” he stuttered, noticing how pale she looked. He didn't know how to ask her about Vincent because he knew. He just kept quiet and watched her walk away.

Mason saw the look on her face and gestured to her to come towards him. “ What is wrong?” He asked as he touched her forehead checking to see if she was sick.

Celeste just brought out the document from her bag and handed it to him. “ You …” he choked, his eyes wide with shock as he stared at the document.

He dropped the document to the ground and fell back, falling onto the seat. He didn't know what to say. He looked like he was dumbstruck, his breathing ragged. Victor held onto him as her father looked at the document.

“ You are pregnant!” He yelled, his eyes wide with shock.

Celeste smirked, her eyes red with pain. She just brushed past them and walked away. Bridget looked at her but Celeste didn't even pause to return the gaze.

She felt their gazes on her as her father and Victor helped her grandfather inside. Her stepmother walked up to her.

“ You are pregnant?” She asked and Celeste's hand paused on the doorknob.

“ It's fine but …pregnant for that good for nothing?” She added and Celeste's hand tightened on the doorknob. She felt like breaking it and stabbing Bridget.

“Good for nothing?” She asked, her voice cold.

Bridget shook her head in pity and this made her angrier. “ That useless boy. It's bad enough that he slept with you and married you, now you are pregnant with him? He is like a rat, eating from any pocket he sees open. You can't bring his child into this world. You need to abort that thing” Bridget said and Celeste banged the door in anger.

“ How dare you?! How dare you call my child a thing?” She yelled, her eyes red. She was trembling with anger.

Bridget walked back a bit as if scared of her.

“ It's bad enough that you made him run away. You made him do all the work at home and you also framed him and now, he has had enough and left!”

Bridget’s eyes widened. “ He left?” She asked, shocked. “ So your child would be a bastard without a father? Vincent was always useless after all. You should abort….”

Celeste went crazy as she banged the door again. She really wanted to slap this wench. “ You bitch …get out. You dare tell me to abort my child. Go flush your stinky self down the drain!” she barked and entered the room, banging the door right in Bridget’s face.

She slid to the floor and threw her bag. She burst into tears. She didn't know why her father decided to marry someone like Bridget. The shameless bitch who only enjoyed other people's pain.

She sobbed harder as her thoughts trailed to everything that had happened so far. How she had a one-night stand with Vincent, how they had a flash marriage, and now, his disappearance and the child in her.

How was she going to face the media? Her reputation would be ruined. Everybody was going to say that she was dumped by her husband to nurse a child alone. How was she going to handle the humiliation?

She didn't even know if Vincent left on his own or if he was forced or if he was kidnapped. How was she going to tell her father and grandfather about this news? How would they react?

She sobbed harder but was cut off by the ringing of her phone. It was an unknown number.

She decided against answering it but gave in anyway.

The other person didn't say a word, just breathing.

Thirty seconds….

One minute..

She gave up, how could someone call and not say a word? She thought of disconnecting the call then a sharp masculine voice rang out.

“ Vincent is dead”

She froze, shock plastered on her face.
