At her residence, Madam Ester, who had just woken up and was ready for breakfast, frowned in irritation. She lifted the food covers, then checked the pots and pans one by one.

Empty. Everything was empty. The kitchen looked untouched, as if no one had done a single thing since morning.

“Mom, where are you going?”

Brielle, who was just about to have her breakfast, looked up in confusion as her mother marched past.

“To cut off Jenny’s ears! How dare that brat! Can you believe it? She hasn’t made breakfast for us! She’s probably still sleeping soundly!”

“You’re kidding, right? Seriously?!”

Brielle’s jaw dropped in disbelief—and hunger.

Clack! Bang!

The door flew open and slammed hard against the wall.

“What?! Where is that wretched girl?!”

Brielle froze. Anger flashed in her eyes as a thought crossed her mind—Jenny must be in Jackson’s room. Trying to steal him from m

“So you want to have many boyfriends, huh? That way you won’t pick the wrong person. One phone per boyfriend,” Jennyfer teased Jackson, hinting at the idea that he was seeing other women. Yet, in the two days he’d been in the hospital, she hadn’t seen a single woman come to visit him.“Ugh! Planning to be a playgirl, huh?! Such a little kid, and still daring to think about having multiple boyfriends. So naughty!”Jackson, angered by Jennyfer’s words, immediately grabbed her hand—just as she had finished putting her phone in her backpack—holding it firmly as if protesting her cheeky comment.“It’s okay to be a little playgirl while you’re young. Better than waiting until you’re old and it leads to problems. That could cause affairs, and eventually divorce. Then you’d have widows or widowers. And if there are kids from that marriage, it creates broken-home children who might act terribly and be called disobedient! Well… that’s just the way it is.”“You’re quite the little firecracker. J

At least he wanted Jennyfer to be more open with him about everything, so their relationship could grow closer and, of course, it would be better. After pulling his pants back up past the tight spot at his hips, Jackson looked at Jennyfer again.“Come on, help pull a little more. These pants are so tricky,” Jackson grumbled, complaining about the hospital pants he was wearing.Jennyfer smiled and helped him adjust the pants back into place.“I’m going to brush my teeth. Wait for me a bit, okay?” Jackson said, pressing the toilet button.“Hmm.”Their voices faded, replaced only by the sound of Jackson brushing his teeth. This afternoon, Jackson felt satisfied knowing that Jacob, along with a friend who had been shot by Iptu Rahardiansyah, had been released from the hospital room and immediately thrown into custody. Even though the court had not yet decided the length of their sentences, Jackson was already relieved that Jacob and his accomplices would face justice. In fact, Jackson was

“So you’re saying I’ve been stupid all this time?!”“Huh? Why are you so worked up? It’s still early in the morning. Hehe, come here for a bit first.”“It’s not that I’m worked up… but are you really saying I’ve been stupid all this time?” Jennyfer said, walking closer to Jackson’s bed.“Why do you get more sensitive the closer you get?” Jackson asked, chuckling as he watched her face scrunch up so early in the morning.“That’s just how women are. If we’re not sensitive, we won’t notice anything. You too, Brother, suddenly disappearing, no news at all… that counts as being sensitive too, right?”“Gosh, you… come closer,” Jackson said, stretching his hand, though it couldn’t quite reach Jennyfer since she stood a little far away.“What for?”“Come here.”“What are you going to do?”Jackson felt puzzled. Sometimes Jennyfer seemed so obedient and sweet, yet at other times, she could suddenly change her behavior. Weren’t they fine just last night?Meanwhile, Jennyfer wanted to protect her

I’m thirsty.”“Oh, sure. One moment, Brother.”Jennyfer walked to the water dispenser to fetch a glass for Jackson.“Jenny, help me roll the head of the bed so it’s easier for me to drink.”“All right, but just a little.”“Your hand hurts, right?”“No, it’s just… if it moves too much, it might start bleeding again,” Jackson said with a slight smile.“That’s true. All right, just a little. Here, drink, Brother.”Jennyfer gave him the water using the plastic tube available on the bedside table. That night passed quietly, uneventful.

It doesn’t hurt at all,” Jackson replied, curling his lips into a perfect upward curve, making his face look even more charming and handsome.“If it doesn’t hurt, then why did you faint earlier?” Jennyfer asked again, staring deeply into Jackson’s eyes, which seemed to be holding back immense pain. His eyes looked tired and melanchol
