The young boy slammed into a tree, his bones cracking from the impact. He let out a pained groan as his face half soaked in blood blurred his vision, he struggled to breath and balance himself. A second later he had his feet swept from under him causing him to lose his balance and fall on his back, he groaned but his moment of pain was cut short as someone dropped a heavy knee on his chest region shattering his bones.
"Pl... Please, stop." He barely managed to say under the intense pain his body was experiencing at the moment. Standing over him were two figures covered in black from head to to, because of his blurry vision he could not make out their faces or appearance. On his way back from the village he was attacked and dragged off somewhere, he never expected that someone would have the odacity to attack him the son of the clan leader. For as long as he had known he was hated and despised by both his father and brothers— "Yes beg you shitty scum." Boomed one of the attackers, "When you reach the grey passage you can tell your ancestors that Ri Yuan sent you there." The second figure spat down on him and kicked his head smashing it into the ground, a small shockwave escaped from the impact. "Let's leave him here to die", said the first. "It's what we were paid for." The second nodded and started to walk away. "I find no pleasure in fighting trash opponents." "Who the fuck are you calling trash?" He wanted to argue but he choked on his blood and passed out. —He knew he should have expected this, he was the fifth son of his father Sky Dragon. In a family of seven sons they were expected to be powerhouses of their village, since the clan leader and his family were the face of the village they handled the security and took care of the well being of the village. But this was not so for young Sky Ling, being the fifth son he was not born with any great role like the first three brothers, he was merely a staple between the line of brothers. He did not have to be overbearingly strong like his older brothers, the only existence he had to serve was that he needed to be strong— —And this was where he failed at— Sky Ling was the only person in his family to be born with “closed veins”—a condition that made him a disgrace to his noble house. Chi was a force that flow naturally through every person in the world, it existed in the world and in all matters. Only a small portion of the population of the world is “Veinbound”— those born with natural Chi Veins, which let them manipulate the energy of the world for martial arts. Being a son of a noble he was by birth a veinbound, but Sky Ling had a rare predicament. He had closed veins, this meant that the chi veins that he needed to absorb and cultivate chi which was further needed to learn martial arts, was an impossible feat for him. He was handicapped and deprived of the only duty he had to his clan, which was simply to be a martial artist. Since then he had long since been abandoned by his father, the only thing that kept him from being bullied or made fun of was his mother who died of a strange illness month earlier. This allowed the mothers of the other princes to molest him continuously. Even his mother's wards and hand helps left him to follow the more prominent queens of the clan. He was a subject of ridicule constantly. The other princes who showed care to him at one time now abandoned him as the grew stronger. Even the younger princes were on the path to surpass him too. As for the clan leader, he could care less about this development since having a worthless trash for a son was useless. Sky Ling had only seen the clan leader three times and these were on official occasions, he rarely spoke to any of his children or wives so everyone feared him. Sky expected to be exiled or executed at some point in time but for some reason no one ever took the opportunity, till now that is. He did not need a soothsayer to tell him that one of the other clan mothers had sent the assassins to kill him, and they had done a very good job. It would have been a great job had they simply put him out of his misery one and for all, but they had to let him suffer more as another form of torture. A bright light shone in front of Sky causing him to groan and open his eyes weakly. "Is that the afterlife?" He asked himself silently. He had learned a lot about the grey passage, the tunnel that he would walk to meet his ancestors as he passed on to the after life. In the stories they would tell the story of their feast and conquests to their ancestors and also recount their death. But what would he say? That he was the biggest disgrace ever? That he was killed so quickly that he did not even have a thought of putting up a fight? The only thing that gave him joy was the fact that he would see his mother's face once more. He did not care if he would be ridiculed again in the afterlife for all of eternity but seeing his mother again would be a great joy to him. He felt someone graze his face, the person forced one of his eyes open. He could hardly make out the person with his blurred vision but he could see the person short white hair, a strange white outfit and a body that radiated a faint white glow. He felt like he was looking at a god. "You're still alive, that's good. It would be a shame if you died." Said a deep masculine voice. "How would you like a second chance at life, with enough power to stand at the peak of the world, and be indomitable?" Sky Ling would have laughed if he could, it was funny enought that he was dieing but he was also being kicked for being useless. "What a load of crap." He thought. The silver white figure spoke again. "I can't give you if you don't desire it, that fire will be needed. But if you desire the power I have offered it comes with one condition." Sky Ling for some reason felt a bit less reluctant and answered. "What—?" His tone low, almost non existent but the strange god like figure heard. The figure stood with its hand outstretched and spoke a bit more louder. "In the future this world will be destroyed, nations slaughtered. I want you to save the world with the power I give you. That is the only condition I have for you." —"Do you accept this offer, Sky Ling fifth son of the Sky family?"— Sky Ling tried to speak but he gurgled on his own blood, the white figure knelt down before him and stabbed a strange needle in his chest and piercing his heart. "I will take that as a yes. Be reborn as a go--" Sky Ling's body exploded in pain, by the time he regained himself it was daylight.

Ling groaned inwardly, the illusionary dragon which had always remained quiet observing all his deeds was not making his day hell."Damn, kid I never expected you to go that hard to expose your goals to her. You really do have guts, you don't have fear of being reported?" The dragon fley circles over his head.Ling continued to work down the market square with his hands tucked away in his pocket. "Shut it dragon, she can be trusted.""How so?"He grumbled but said nothing more about the matter. Ling's Proposal
Ling explained his proposal to her, with each word he sounded like a crazed lunatic than a business man. "I want the weeping shallows to align with me in future, I feel our dreams align in a way. You want to become number one and it will be beneficial to have you by my side."Li Yuan felt the urge to laugh but she barely suppressed it, his words were outlandish. "You want me to align with you, that is humourous as it is insulting. To think you had the chutzpah to make such a statement. Firstly the weeping shallows does not work under any external figure, and secondly I mean no offence but you are not someone anyone would want to align with."Ling felt a challenge biting at him. "What if I can change your mind?"The mistress of the auction house tapped her index finger on the fan, clearly not falling for his childish games. She had been a fool to expect something promising from him, he had yet to have gotten his money and yet he was already displaying all the needed arrogance.Ling fel

Ling fought back the urge to relax his body on the sofa rest, he could feel the comfort softening his muscles and he wanted more than anything to leave there and get back to training. He looked at her then to the curtains then back at there before speaking."Is this place private enough?" He asked in a low, calculated tone.Li Yuan nodded gently and gestured to the curtains. "These are high quality soundproof curtains, we may not be the biggest in the village now but we use quality protection. This is needed since auction houses sell items of great rarity or perhaps stolen property of great worth. You can speak fifth young lord."He hesitated for a few seconds and studied her, she did not seem like a complicated person despite playing the part. He dug his hand into one of his pockets and took out a bright green emerald the size of a thumb, she held it up where she could see and said. "Are you interested now miss Yuan? I trust you know what this is."Li Yuan's eyes widened for a few s
