The Smiling Demon stood exactly where he had been, staring at his own right hand with fascinated amusement. Fresh blood dripped steadily from the tips of his fingers, which weren’t clenched into a fist at all. Instead, every finger was tightly pressed together into a perfectly straight edge.

Almost…

Like a blade.

Ares frowned deeply, unable to hide the confusion in his eyes.

“…What the hell…”

How…

How could a human hand cut through flesh that easily?

Marshal slowly raised one finger and casuall

The captain studied Drax for a moment before his eyes shifted toward Charlotte, who was still lying on the floor with her hands tied and tape covering her mouth.“Tell me something,” he said. “Why is that girl so important to you?”Drax didn’t even look at him.“That isn’t your business.”The captain raised an eyebrow. “You came all the way to my ship, killed my men, and risked your life for her. There has to be a reason.”“All you need to know is that I was sent to rescue her,” Drax replied coldly. “And nothing you do is going to stop me.”The captain stared at him for a few seconds before laughing.“Fine. We’ll see about that.”He slowly turned toward the men surrounding Drax.“You think these are ordinary guards?”Drax glanced around the room. The captain smiled. “They aren’t. They are the Grimm Reapers.”A murmur passed through the room, but the men themselves remained completely expressionless.“They were trained from childhood for one purpose,” the captain continued. “To kill ta

  • Drax’s Redemption 45

The man in his forties who was the captain took another slow drag from his cigarette before leaning back in his chair. His eyes remained fixed on Drax, and there was a faint smile on his face, as though everything happening in the room had already been decided.“So the rumors were true,” he said calmly. “A Warlord really did board my ship.”His smile widened.“What a pleasant surprise.”Drax didn’t answer. His eyes moved across the room, counting the armed men surrounding him. There had to be at least a hundred, and unlike the guards he had fought below deck, these men were clearly prepared for battle. They weren’t standing around casually. Every one of them had been positioned strategically, blocking every possible exit.Drax’s expression remained calm, but his mind was already working. How did they know he was here? More importantly, how had they known exactly where he would go?This wasn’t a random ambush. They had been waiting for him.Drax’s gaze shifted toward Emily.“What is al

The girls froze when they saw Drax standing in the doorway. Their eyes widened with fear as several of them instinctively moved backward, pressing themselves against the walls.“Please, don’t hurt us!”“Please let us go!”“We haven’t done anything!”Their frightened voices overlapped, and Drax immediately understood what had happened. To them, he was just another man from the ship, another guard who had come to drag someone away.“Relax,” Drax said, raising both hands. “I’m not one of them. I’m from a special team, and I came here to rescue you.”The girls stared at him suspiciously, and a few exchanged uncertain glances.“You came to rescue us?” one girl asked.“Yes.”“You’re not working for the captain?”“No.”The tension in the room eased slightly, though nobody completely trusted him yet. Drax glanced around the crowded room, his eyes moving quickly from one face to another. He had come for one person.Charlotte.But she was nowhere among them.“Where’s Charlotte?” Drax asked. The

Drax finally reached the lower cargo section and immediately slowed his pace. According to the blueprint, he was close to the holding area, but the heavy footsteps and voices ahead told him that the criminals had placed more security around this part of the ship. He moved toward the corner and carefully looked around it.Seven armed guards were stationed outside a large metal door. Four stood near the entrance with rifles in their hands, while the others remained farther back, casually talking among themselves as they kept watch. Drax studied them for a few seconds, his eyes moving from one guard to another. If he attacked carelessly and allowed even one of them to fire, the sound would travel through the metal corridors and alert everyone on the ship. Worse, the guards might panic and hurt the girls inside.Drax took a slow breath, then released it.He needed to make this quick. He stepped out from behind the corner with his hands slightly raised. The guards immediately noticed him,

  • Drax’s Redemption 42

According to the ship’s blueprint, the most obvious place for the trafficked girls to be held was the lower cargo section. The area was isolated from the main decks, surrounded by thick steel walls and positioned far away from the ordinary crew quarters. Anyone trying to enter or leave that section would have to pass through restricted corridors, making it the perfect place to hide people without attracting the attention of the rest of the crew.Drax folded the blueprint and slipped it beneath his clothes before stepping out of the engineer’s office. He glanced down the corridor and waited until the area was clear before moving. His footsteps were almost silent as he followed the route marked on the map, descending one level at a time through narrow stairways and poorly lit passages. The farther he went, the quieter the ship became. The sounds of the loading operation above gradually disappeared, replaced by the constant vibration of the engines and the faint metallic groaning of the

  • Drax’s Redemption 41

Drax carefully climbed over the edge of the ship and pulled himself onto the deck, immediately lowering his body when he noticed several armed men stationed nearby. They were scattered around the area, some carrying rifles while others watched the surrounding waters and the loading operations below. Drax quickly moved behind a stack of large containers and crates, using the cluttered deck as cover while he studied their movements. There were too many guards for him to simply walk through, and one wrong move could alert the entire ship to the presence of an intruder. He waited patiently until one of the guards began moving away from the others, carrying several packages toward another section of the vessel. Drax followed silently, keeping enough distance between them to avoid being noticed. The man eventually turned his head, perhaps sensing something behind him, but by the time he realized Drax was there, it was already too late. Drax grabbed him from behind and knocked him unconsciou
