The beautiful, luscious woman massaging Tristan's broad back suddenly froze. Her soft fingers, which had been kneading his tense muscles, slowed into gentle circles as she studied the dark look spreading across his face.

"My Lord..." she called softly, hesitation evident in her voice. "Why did you suddenly become so tense? Did he pass the test again?"

Tristan's expression grew even darker. The muscles beneath his tattooed skin flexed subtly as he exhaled through his nose.

  • C199: I Decide Who Stays... Or Leaves

At that very moment, Naomi's arrogant voice rang out from the side. "Manager, don't beg him."She stepped forward gracefully, the corners of her lips lifting into a proud smile. Then she looked at the restaurant owner with unconcealed contempt. "With me here today, no one is firing either of you. I'll protect you."The manager, who had looked completely defeated moments earlier, suddenly felt as though he had been thrown a lifeline. His eyes lit up instantly."Really?" He hurried to his feet. "Thank you, Miss Rossi! Thank you so much!"Even the waiter looked overjoyed and repeatedly bowed. "Thank you, Miss Rossi!"Watching the two practically worship her, Naomi's vanity swelled even further. She folded her arms across her chest before looking at the restaurant owner."Do you know who I am?"The owner merely glanced at her. His expression remained indifferent. "I do.""Good." Naomi smiled smugly. "Since you know who I am, then you should also know that offending me won't end well for y

  • C198: Bear The Consequences

Veyron lowered his gaze as the security guards closed in from every direction. The faint smile on his lips gradually disappeared. His fingers rested lightly on the edge of the table then slowly curled. An invisible chill spread through the restaurant. The lively chatter died down almost instantly. Even those who knew nothing about martial arts inexplicably felt the temperature drop.Several diners instinctively rubbed their arms. "Why does it suddenly feel so cold?"No one noticed that a terrifying killing intent had already begun gathering around Veyron. His icy-green eyes narrowed.Just as his fingers were about to flick—"STOP!" The thunderous roar exploded throughout the restaurant.THUD!Every security guard froze where they stood. Not a single one dared take another step. The killing intent in Veyron's eyes quietly faded. His fingers relaxed as he slowly lifted his head.A trace of curiosity flashed across his face. Who had just unknowingly saved these people?"Boss?" The manage

  • C197: Loyal Lapdogs

Veyron simply leaned back in his chair. He tilted his head ever so slightly before letting out a faint chuckle. "You're quite the loyal lapdogs."The manager's courteous smile instantly froze. His eyelids twitched. "L-Lapdogs?"For a brief second, he wondered if he had heard wrongly. Even the waiter looked stunned.Although the manager managed to keep his composure because of the other diners nearby, the displeasure on his face became impossible to hide."Sir." His tone gradually turned colder. "Please mind your language. We do not welcome uncivilized customers in our restaurant."Veyron almost laughed. His icy-green eyes met the manager's without the slightest ripple."Uncivilized?" He slowly repeated the word. "Then tell me... between us, who exactly is being uncivilized?"His gaze shifted toward Naomi. "She admitted herself that she never reserved this table. So why should we be the ones leaving?"The manager's expression stiffened. He opened his mouth yet couldn't find an answer.

  • C196: They Leave Or... I Leave

A faint yet alluring smile curved Naomi's crimson lips as she slowly shook her head. "No. I don't have a reservation."She tilted her head ever so slightly, her beautiful eyes settling on the couple before her. "But... you'll still have to give up this table."Iris' brows instantly knitted together. Her fingers curled tightly beneath the table until her nails dug into her palm. Just as she had suspected, Naomi wasn't here because of any reservation. She was deliberately picking a fight. But why?At that moment, Naomi's gaze drifted past Iris and settled on Veyron. Her eyes lingered on him for several seconds. She wasn't merely provoking him. She was observing him, testing him. Her man had repeatedly warned about being cautious around Veyron Blackthorne.Unfortunately, the more Naomi looked at him, the less impressive he seemed. From the moment she arrived until now, he hadn't argued once. He hadn't shown any anger. He simply sat there lazily, leaving Iris to handle everything. An ex-c

"What's going on?" Iris frowned, her pleasant mood instantly ruined. "We waited in line for over an hour specifically for this table. Now you're telling me it belongs to someone else?""I'm terribly sorry, Miss." The waiter lowered his head apologetically again. "It appears there was a misunderstanding at the reception. This table was reserved in advance."He quickly forced another polite smile. "However, we've already prepared another table for you. Please allow me to escort you there.""What a hassle..." Iris sighed softly. Although she wasn't pleased, she was about to stand when Veyron lightly raised a finger. It was only the slightest gesture."Sit." His voice wasn't loud, yet it carried an unquestionable calmness.Iris blinked in confusion. She didn't understand what he intended to do, but after spending so much time around him, she had developed a habit of trusting his judgment. Without another word, she quietly sat back down."Sir..." The waiter frowned. "What do you mean by thi
