Hazel’s mind raced, her face flushing with frustration and embarrassment as Jason’s grip on her wrist tightened.

She glared at him, trying to pull away, but his strength left her rooted in place.

“Let me go, Jason,” she hissed, her voice low enough to avoid drawing further attention but sharp enough to convey her growing anger. “You’ve already done enough damage by lying, I know you don't have any car, and my father too doesn't have the one everyone will be expecting..”
