Due to the overwhelming number of messy comments, Alice couldn't read them one by one. More importantly, there was no need to do so.

With her pure and beautiful appearance and good family background, naturally, many people pursued her at school. The wealthy young masters of Nova City's affluent families, without exception, were all her ardent admirers.

However, in her eyes, these were all just frivolous playboys. From a young age, her heart had only been filled with her Joseph. Her entire youth was occupied by beautiful memories related to Joseph.

Alice opened her phone, thinking of replying in the comment section to clarify her relationship with Joseph to avoid any misunderstandings. But after thinking about it, she stopped and deleted the entire line of text she had typed.

Why should she clarify? If she deliberately clarified, would Joseph be unhappy? But if she didn't clarify, many people would be displeased, right?

However, what did other people's displeasure have to do with her? As long as Joseph was happy, that's all that mattered.

With this thought, Alice put down her phone.

"Knock, knock, knock..." There was a knocking sound from outside.

"Alice, can I have my phone back?" Joseph's voice came from outside. Only then did Alice remember that Joseph's phone was in her room.

"Ah? Right, I forgot to give you the phone," Alice looked at it, grabbed Joseph's new phone, and opened the door.

Joseph was waiting at the door.

"Joseph, this is your new phone. It used to be my spare phone. This is your old phone. I'm giving them both to you."

"Also, I registered F******k for you and added my and Grandpa's contact information."

"By the way, quite a few messages came in just now. I guess someone was looking for you. Don't worry, I didn't read the content. I know to respect your privacy," Alice handed the two phones to Joseph and explained everything carefully and patiently.

"Okay, thank you," Joseph thanked her with a smile.

"Joseph?" Alice looked at Joseph with a slightly aggrieved expression, which Joseph didn't quite understand.

"Um, what's the matter?" Joseph asked.

"Don't say thank you, okay? Why are you still so polite with me? What's mine is yours. If you want anything, just tell me."

Hearing these words, Joseph felt touched in his heart. Since his parents passed away, the grandfather and granddaughter of the Morgan family had been the kindest people to him.

He had thought he would be alone for the rest of his life, but now, having a girl who was good to him seemed not bad.

However, over the years, he had completely forgotten about others, which made him feel somewhat guilty.

"Then I won't thank you," Joseph smiled.

"Hey, you... Alright, you've been busy all day. Go take a shower and get some rest. I have classes tomorrow afternoon," Alice sighed, feeling a bit exasperated. Her Joseph was a bit too straightforward.

However, even the straightforward Joseph was adorable.

"Okay," Joseph agreed, but then thought of something.

"No, wait a moment."

"Hmm? Joseph, is there anything else?" Alice was about to close the door but was stopped by Joseph.

"What did you go downstairs to buy for me earlier?" Joseph asked curiously.

"Um..." Alice was stunned for a moment, her pretty face turning slightly red as she recalled something embarrassing.

"That... I'll go get it for you. Wait here!" Alice, with a flushed face, went back to her room and closed the door behind her.

"Why so mysterious?" Joseph became even more puzzled.

Before long, Alice's door opened again, and Alice came out holding something, but she hid it behind her back, so Joseph couldn't see what it was.

"Umm, Joseph, could you please close your eyes? Close your eyes, and I'll give you the thing," Alice's pretty face was flushed, her head slightly lowered, looking enchantingly beautiful.

"So mysterious?" Joseph was stunned again.

"Alright then, I'll close my eyes," saying this, Joseph closed his eyes.

"Don't open your eyes. Only open them after I'm back in my room," Alice reminded him again.

"Okay," Joseph could only agree.

Subsequently, Joseph felt something soft being placed in his hands.

"Okay... Okay, I didn't know about the sizes and all, so I bought two of each size for you," after saying this, Alice fled back to her room and closed the door tightly.

After Alice returned to her room, Joseph opened his eyes and discovered that he was holding several pairs of men's underwear.

"Oh... So that's what it was!" Joseph was stunned for a moment, muttering to himself. After realizing what it was, he chuckled.

Then, holding his intimate clothing, he left.

After returning to her room, Alice buried her head tightly in her pillow. It was simply embarrassing to death. It was the first time she had bought such things for a boy. She had originally wanted Joseph to buy them himself.

But then, she felt that doing this had a special meaning.

After calming her excited emotions, Alice opened her F******k chat window with Joseph.

"Umm, Joseph, I've never bought such things for anyone before. I really don't know much about it. See if you like the styles."

"Whew... I squatted outside the convenience store for twenty minutes before mustering the courage to go in!" Alice typed rapidly and sent two messages to Joseph.

"What's there to care about styles for these things? It's not like you girls!" Joseph replied with a message, accompanied by a smirking emoji.

"Ah ah ah! Joseph, you're so knowledgeable! Did you buy them for your ex-wife before?" Alice asked tentatively.

"No. She and I weren't husband and wife, not even friends."

"I won't talk to you for now. I'm going to take a shower and take care of some things," Joseph replied briefly.

With that, Joseph started checking the 99+ messages on his phone.

Upon opening them, he found that they were all from Heidi, inquiring about his whereabouts.

During these few years in the Cooper family, only Heidi treated him as a family member, although she also liked to order him around. But she sincerely considered him her brother-in-law.

Additionally, he discovered that he had dozens of missed calls. After a quick glance, except for one from Fiona, the rest were all from Heidi.

It seemed that Heidi was quite worried about him. He should call her back; otherwise, it would be too heartless to ignore her good intentions.

However, just as Joseph was about to call Heidi, Heidi's call came in. Joseph was slightly stunned and pressed the answer button.

“Free? Of course. We’re on break, so I’m basically at home looking after the kids and Kelly. My mom’s here too,” Brady Rogers replied at once.“I’ll come by tomorrow—around two in the afternoon,” Joseph said. They spoke a while longer about Kelly’s condition. From Brady’s detailed account, Joseph judged that her recovery was going very well. Brady was a physician himself, and a medical educator at that; his clinical descriptions were bound to be precise. After nearly ten minutes, they hung up.Joseph then called Lindsay Anderson. The line connected quickly.“Hello? Mr. Wilson? Do we have a time?” Lindsay asked.“Yes. I’m calling to confirm—tomorrow at two, at Professor Rogers’s place,” Joseph said.“No problem on my end, Mr. Wilson,” she replied. “Oh, and would you come to my place for lunch first? My mom’s making something special.”“Grandpa Tristan Flores will be there too. My dad and grandpa want to come with us afterward—they said they’d like to witness a medical miracle.”“In tha

“What else would I be doing? Obviously, tormenting you,” Alice teased, eyes dancing. “What—don’t you like it when I tease you?”“Who likes being bullied?” Joseph chuckled helplessly.“If you don’t, then I simply must,” Alice declared, and leaned in for another kiss. After a bout of her playful antics, Joseph finally got the upper hand. In his arms, Alice had no tricks left and had to surrender—off she went to wash up and get ready for breakfast.By the time Joseph came out of the kitchen, Alice was already seated at the dining table, waiting.“Joseph, did you make extra? I bet that old woman is on her way,” Alice said between bites.“When have I not cooked enough? Don’t worry—there’s more than you two can finish,” Joseph replied with a smile.“Heh, perfect,” Alice grinned.Right then, a knock sounded at the door.“Right on cue. That must be her,” Alice said around a mouthful of bun.“I’ll get it,” Joseph said, rising and heading for the door. The moment he opened it, a warm cloud of p

Urged on by Alice, Joseph had no choice but to head into the bathroom. Before long, Alice brought in his clean clothes and set them on the shelf by the door. They had long since crossed their final boundary, but there were still moments that made them shy—like this one. They had never been quite so unabashed anywhere outside the bed. That brief, bashful interlude ended when Alice slipped out of the bathroom.About twenty minutes later, Joseph emerged.Alice was no longer in the living room.Seeing this, Joseph flicked off the light and walked back to his room.As expected, he found Alice sitting on his bed, her legs tucked beneath the blanket, wearing only a scanty camisole on top.The thin fabric traced every perfect line of her figure. At a glance, Joseph felt a tremor ripple through him.“Joseph, you’re done?” Alice asked, closing the book in her hands as he came in.“Done,” he said. “What are you reading?”“I grabbed something off your shelf—your favorite, The Spring and Autumn An

“I’m an old man now. And as an old man, the most important thing is to know your place—otherwise your children and grandchildren will grow to resent you.”“I refuse to become the kind of old man people can’t stand,” Blake Morgan said with a cheerful smile.“In my heart, sir, you truly are a wise elder,” Joseph praised.“It isn’t exactly wisdom,” Blake replied. “It’s just this—try to think from the perspective of the young. That’s all.”“Not to boast, but in my family, we’ve never even had a real shouting match.”“The secret to running a household is balance and diplomacy. Step in where it’s needed, step back where it isn’t, and never insist that everyone do things your way.”“It’s the same with running a company. One person’s talent and judgment are finite. You have to gather the strengths of many if you want long-lasting stability.”The more Blake spoke, the more reflective he became. These were the lessons of decades of living.“You’re right, sir. That’s exactly how it is,” Joseph n

Seeing Leah like this, Mason Morgan and Molly could only stare, helpless.“I’ve heard quite a bit about Joseph from Geoffrey Harris,” Blake Morgan said, picking up the thread. “He sang your praises without stopping—said you were remarkable, a man of real talent.”“My future son-in-law truly is gifted. The capable never stay buried,” Mason chimed in.“You didn’t used to say that,” Blake shot him a look.“I didn’t know him then, did I?” Mason sniffed. “I have high standards—most people don’t impress me. If this kid does, it means he’s got something.”“Dad, Mason, Joseph, Alice—the food’s nearly ready. Why don’t we eat and talk?” Molly suggested.“Eat and talk?” Blake turned to Joseph with a smile.“Fine by me,” Joseph replied.A short while later, the family settled around the table.“Since your grandmother and Alice’s mother passed, this is the first time the house has felt like this—everyone together for a simple, homey meal,” Blake said softly once he sat. “The staff can cook, sure—b

“Because she’s right. When Uncle Robinson and Uncle Zhang are together, it’s either fishing or cards.”Leah spoke with solemn conviction.“Fine.”“But Dad probably just wants Joseph to look him over.”Alice ventured a guess.“Didn’t I tell you? The medicine my brother-in-law prescribed is delicious. He gave it to Dad. Smelled amazing—tasted even better.”Leah nodded earnestly.“You didn’t sneak any, did you?”Alice eyed her, suspicious.“Of course not. I like good food, but I’m not reckless enough to eat random medicine.”Leah’s tone was all reason.“Really? That’s not what Mom told me.”Alice gave her a pointed look.“She’s lying. She’s always picking on me. Sometimes I wonder if she’s even my real mom.”Leah declared, dead serious.“Ahem!”Alice nearly choked. “If she’s not your real mom, who is?”Leah’s face split into a grin. “Kidding! Don’t be so serious, sis.”She immediately switched to flattery mode.“Say that to her face and see what happens,” Alice said, amused.“I’m not stu
