The words struck Julius harder than any punch he had ever received.

"They came for you."

The Grand Hall fell into complete silence. No one laughed at him or mocked him.

Every pair of eyes was fixed on Julius. The same students who had ridiculed him moments ago now stared at him as if he were some unknown creature.

Julius could barely breathe.

"What are you talking about?"

The Deen looked pale.

"The Mark of Sovereignty..." he whispered. "It cannot be."

Outside, another thunderous step shook the academy.

GBIM!

Cracks spread across the walls and dust rained from the ceiling.

Students screamed.

The Titan was approaching, and it wasn't hiding its intentions. Its gaze never left the academy, never left Julius.

The Deen quickly recovered his composure.

"Instructors!"

Several academy masters immediately stepped forward.

"Evacuate the students."

"But Deen…”

"Now!"

His voice left no room for argument.

The instructors sprang into action, students rushed toward the exits. Panic spread throughout the hall.

Some cried, some prayed and some ran.

Yet amidst the chaos, Marcus and several others remained where they stood.

Their eyes remained fixed on Julius.

Marcus clenched his fists.

"Why him?"

The question escaped before he could stop himself.

Julius heard it, so did everyone else.

Why him?

The scholarship student, the poor boy, the weakest..

Why would a Titan cross hundreds of miles for someone like him?

The answer was simple

“Nobody knew”

The Deen suddenly grabbed Julius by the shoulder.

"Come with me."

"What?"

"There isn't time."

Before Julius could protest, the Deen pulled him toward a side passage hidden behind the stage.

The door slammed shut behind them.

The noise of the panicked students became distant and the hallway beyond was dark.

Torches burned along stone walls, Julius had never seen this place before.

"Where are we going?"

"The Archives."

The Deen's pace never slowed, Julius frowned.

"What does that have to do with me?"

The old man remained silent.

That silence worried Julius more than any answer.

After several minutes, they reached a massive iron door.

Ancient symbols covered its surface.

The Deen placed his hand against it, golden light flashed and the door slowly opened.

Julius stepped inside.

His eyes widened.

Thousands of books, ancient scrolls, weapons, maps, and artifacts.

The room looked more like a hidden museum than a library.

The Deen walked directly toward a large stone pedestal.

Upon it rested an enormous book, dust covered its surface. The pages looked centuries old.

The Deen carefully opened it.

"What is that?"

"The Chronicle of the First Age."

Julius approached cautiously.

The pages were filled with illustrations like cities, Titans, Battles, Kings and more.

Then he saw something that made him freeze, a symbol. The exact same symbol that had appeared on his forehead.

His heart skipped.

"No way."

The Deen nodded grimly.

"I was afraid of this."

Julius stared at the image.

The mark glowed beneath the drawing.

Identical in every detail.

"What is it?"

The Deen took a deep breath.

"A thousand years ago, humanity faced extinction."

He pointed toward another illustration.

A gigantic Titan stood over a burning kingdom.

"The Titan King ruled the world."

Julius listened carefully.

"No army could stop him."

The page turned.

A lone warrior appeared.

Golden energy surrounded him and the same mark was on his forehead.

The Deen's voice lowered.

"The only human capable of commanding Titans."

Julius felt cold.

"What!” He exclaimed.

The Deen nodded.

"The Mark of Sovereignty grants a connection to the Titans themselves."

Julius stepped backward.

"That's impossible." He didn't want to believe it.

The old man looked troubled.

"Because the bloodline vanished centuries ago."

Julius looked at the mark again.

Questions flooded his mind.

“Who was he?Where did the mark come from? Why has it appeared now?”

Then another terrifying thought entered his mind.

If the stories were true...

Did that mean the Titans weren't his enemies?

GBIM

The academy shook violently.

A section of the ceiling collapsed.

The Titan had reached the outer grounds.

The Deen closed the book.

His expression darkened.

"We're out of time."

Outside, a roar shook the heavens, a signal that the battle had begun.

Far above the academy walls, soldiers filled the defensive towers.

Archers launched enchanted arrows, Mages unleashed streams of fire, explosions covered the Titan's body, Smoke filled the battlefield.

For a moment, hope appeared.

Then the smoke cleared.

The Titan stood completely unharmed, not a single scratch.

Fear spread through the defenders.

The creature slowly r

aised one hand, then swatted.

Like a person brushing away an insect.

CRASH!

An entire watchtower vanished, hundreds of soldiers

screamed. The battlefield descended into chaos.

And the Titan continued moving forward, toward Julius, his mark and destiny.

  • Agent of Darkness
