Ronan’s face turned red with fury.

His cane slammed hard against the marble floor.

“HOW DARE YOU?!” he roared. “This is the Nelson family home! You filthy animals think you can come here and touch my granddaughter?!”

The thug leader only laughed.

“Old man, calm down,” he said mockingly. “We’re just discussing payment.”

“Payment?!” Ronan barked. “You dare speak such nonsense in front of me?!”

His sharp eyes burned with anger.

“I may dislike Olivia,” he growled coldly, “but she is still part of the Nelson family! No outsider has the right to insult her!”

Olivia froze slightly.

She looked at Ronan in surprise.

Even Emma looked shocked.

The thug who had spoken about Olivia smirked and took another step forward.

“Well then,” he sneered, “if the old man cares so much, maybe you’ll pay the debt for her?”

“Dream on,” Ronan snapped.

The thug’s expression darkened.

“You got guts, old man.”

At that moment—

A small figure suddenly rushed forward.

“Don’t touch my mommy!”

Lily spread her tiny arms wide and stood in front of Olivia.

Her little face was pale, but her eyes were full of courage.

The entire room went silent.

Olivia’s eyes widened instantly.

“Lily!” she cried.

The thug blinked, then burst into laughter.

“Well, look at this,” he mocked. “A little hero.”

The other men laughed loudly too.

But Lily did not move.

Her small body trembled, yet she still stood there stubbornly.

“You’re bad people!” she shouted. “You can’t bully my mommy!”

The thug leader looked down at her with amusement.

“And what are you gonna do about it, little girl?”

Lily bit her lip tightly.

At that moment, Conor sensing the danger, frowned and immediately pulled Olivia and Lily behind him.

Ronan’s entire body trembled with rage.

He pointed his cane straight at the men.

“Now get the fuck out of my house,” he thundered, voice echoing across the hall. “And stop harassing my granddaughter!”

The room fell deathly silent.

Even the servants standing in the distance froze in shock.

The thug leader’s eyes turned cold.

Without warning—

SLAP!

The sound rang sharply through the mansion.

Ronan’s head snapped to the side as the brutal slap landed across his face.

His cane nearly slipped from his hand.

Shocked cries erupted instantly.

“Grandpa!”

“Father!”

“Chairman!”

“Mr. Ronan!"

Emma gasped in horror, covering her mouth.

Olivia’s face went white.

Even the other Nelson family members standing nearby looked utterly stunned.

Nobody had expected someone to actually hit Ronan Nelson inside the Nelson residence.

The atmosphere exploded.

“You bastard!”

Several younger Nelson men immediately surged forward in fury.

But before they could act—

“STOP!”

Carl suddenly stepped out arrogantly, raising one hand.

His expression was dark but composed as he adjusted his suit calmly.

“Everyone calm down,” he said coldly.

Then he looked at the thug leader with narrowed eyes.

“You’ve got nerve,” Carl said slowly. “Do you even know where you are?”

The thug leader smirked lazily.

Carl continued proudly, “The Norman family has connections in the underworld too. If this is some gang dispute, we can still mediate it peacefully.”

He straightened his collar confidently.

“So tell me,” he asked, “which gang do you belong to?”

For a second—

The thug leader stared at him.

Then he suddenly burst into laughter.

The other men laughed too.

Some even looked at Carl like he was an idiot.

Carl’s expression stiffened slightly.

“What’s so funny?” he demanded.

The thug leader wiped the corner of his mouth mockingly.

“Gang?” he repeated with amusement.

Then his face turned cold.

“We’re not some street trash gang.”

He slowly pulled out a black badge from his pocket and flashed it toward them.

The moment the silver emblem appeared—

Several people in the room instantly paled.

Titan Group.

The thug leader grinned darkly.

“We work for Titan Group.”

BOOM.

The entire Nelson family froze.

Emma’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Carl’s confident expression instantly cracked.

Even Ronan’s furious face stiffened slightly.

In River City—

Everyone knew what Titan Group represented.

Power.

Violence.

Money.

And absolute ruthlessness.

Unlike ordinary gangs, Titan Group controlled countless underground businesses across the city. Even powerful families avoided provoking them unnecessarily.

Titan Group may appeared legitimate, but everyone knew its chairman was once the city’s biggest mafia boss.

Compared to them, the Norman family had no standing.

The Nelson family had tens of millions in assets, but Titan Group was worth over a billion.

Aside from DragonTech, no one dared provoke them.

The thug leader sneered at Carl’s pale face.

“So,” he mocked, “you still wanna mediate?”

Silence.

Olivia’s hands trembled uncontrollably.

Her face had already gone pale as snow.

Titan Group…

Just hearing that name was enough to make ordinary people despair.

She looked around instinctively.

Emma avoided her gaze.

Several Nelson family members quietly stepped backward.

Even Carl’s expression had become ugly and uncertain.

Nobody wanted to provoke Titan Group.

Nobody dared.

A bitter chill spread through Olivia’s chest.

So this was it…

In the end, she had still been abandoned.

The thug leader clearly noticed the change in atmosphere.

His smile grew wider and wider.

“That’s more like it,” he sneered.

Then his eyes landed greedily on Olivia.

“Come with us obediently,” he said darkly. “Don’t make things difficult.”

Emma clutched her own hands tightly.

Her face looked frightened, but deep inside—

She felt relieved.

If Olivia disappeared tonight…

Then there would be one less person competing for the Nelson inheritance.

No one would need to worry about her anymore.

The thug leader stepped closer.

Olivia’s body stiffened instantly.

Conor’s eyes narrowed coldly from the side, but Olivia gently grabbed his sleeve weakly.

“Don’t…” she whispered shakily.

She knew what Titan Group was capable of.

If Conor acted… He might die.

The thug reached out toward her arm.

Olivia slowly shut her eyes.

Despair filled her completely.

Her family would never risk offending Titan Group for her.

No one would save her.

Then suddenly—

“AAAAAHHHHH!”

A bloodcurdling scream exploded through the hall.

BANG!

A huge figure flew several meters through the air like a broken sack.

The thug smashed violently into a marble pillar before collapsing onto the floor coughing blood.

The entire mansion froze.

Everyone’s eyes widened in horror.

Olivia’s eyes snapped open.

And there—

Standing in front of her… Was Conor.

His tall figure blocked her completely.

One hand was still extended from the punch.

His face was terrifyingly cold.

The temperature in the room seemed to plummet instantly.

The remaining thugs stared in disbelief.

Even the Nelson family was stunned speechless.

Nobody had seen him move.

Conor slowly lifted his eyes toward the thug leader.

His gaze was sharp enough to cut flesh.

“You want to take my wife?” he asked icily.

He took one slow step forward.

“Did you ask me first?”

Conor didn’t look at them again. Not Ronan. Not Emma. They were no longer worth his attention. He turned. And walked away. Just like that. Leaving them behind. — The hallway was dim and silent. The destruction stretched further than the entrance—doors ajar, walls scuffed, traces of force everywhere. Conor moved through it without hesitation. His eyes were scanning and his mind was calculating. Then— A faint sound. A weak, uneven breath. Conor’s steps stopped. He turned his head slightly. There. Near the side corridor— A figure slumped against the wall. A housemaid. Bruised. Clothes disheveled. Barely conscious. Conor closed the distance in two strides and crouched down. “Hey.” No response. Her head lolled slightly. He reached out, steady but firm, tapping her cheek lightly. “Stay with me.” A weak groan escaped her lips. Her eyelids fluttered. “…M-ma’am…” she mumbled instinctively. Conor’s voice cut in, controlled. “Lo

Ronan choked, face already turning red, veins bulging as he struggled to breathe. “Y—you—” he wheezed, panic finally breaking through. Conor’s grip tightened. Just slightly. Ronan’s body jerked. A strangled sound tore from his throat. Emma rushed forward instinctively, hands shaking. “Stop—stop, please! You’ll kill him!” Conor didn’t even look at her. He didn’t blink. His voice dropped further and dead calm. “She is my daughter.” Conor’s grip didn’t loosen. If anything— It tightened just enough to remind Ronan exactly how fragile his life was in that moment. Ronan’s legs kicked weakly in the air, his face turning an ugly shade of red, breath coming in broken, strangled attempts. Conor’s gaze never wavered. Cold and unforgiving. “If you weren’t Olivia’s grandfather,” he said quietly, each word landing like a verdict, “you’d already be in hell repenting for what you just said.” Ronan’s eyes bulged slightly. His hands clawed desperately at Conor’s wr

His hands were trembling as he looked at the empty space. “This is Olivia’s fault,” he spat suddenly. “That woman—she brought this curse into our home!” Emma was as furious as Ronan. “Exactly, grandpa! She always ruins things!” Ronan turned sharply, eyes wild now. “And that man—Conor!” he snarled. “Who does he think he is? Acting high and mighty, provoking powerful families—this is what happens when fools play heroes!” He kicked a broken chair. “They’ve dragged us into this mess! They’ve ruined everything!” His gaze suddenly snapped toward a display case near the wall—shattered. Ronan rushed over, shoving aside splintered wood and broken glass with frantic hands. “No… no—where is it?!” He dropped to his knees, searching desperately through the debris. Then he saw it. Nothing. The velvet slot where it once rested was empty. “My watch…” his voice trembled, then broke into fury. “My $100,000 diamond watch—gone!” His face twisted with rage, veins standing out

The sound came first. Distant at first—then rapidly growing louder. WHUP—WHUP—WHUP— Helicopters. Multiple. The night air above the parking lot shifted as searchlights cut through the dim sky, sweeping across buildings and roads like searching eyes. Within minutes, black vehicles screeched into the area. Doors opened. Men in tactical uniforms stepped out quickly and professionally. “Secure the perimeter!” “Medical team, over here—now!” “Move! Move!” The store staff stood frozen near the entrance, overwhelmed. One of them stammered, “W-what is going on…?” No one answered him. Because the focus was inside the car. Conor had Olivia in his arms, carefully supporting her upright as she remained unconscious, her head slightly tilted, breathing shallow but stable. A medic rushed forward. “Sir—let us take her.” Conor didn’t move immediately. His eyes were still on her face. “…She fainted from shock,” the lead medic said quickly after checking her pulse

Another channel opened. Rapid reports. Satellite uplinks. Traffic anomalies. Security breaches. Nick scanned them like a man reading a death sentence in real time. And for the first time in a long while— He felt something close to fear. Not for himself. But for everyone else. Because he knew Conor wasn’t just angry. Conor was quiet. And in Nick’s experience, that version of him— was the one right before everything burned, many people may die tonight. Nick barely had time to register the flood of incoming commands before Conor’s voice cut back in—calm, controlled, but now edged with something far more dangerous than anger. “No.” Nick froze. Conor continued, each word precise. “Send people to the store immediately. Take Olivia to the hospital.” A brief pause. Then— His tone dropped even further. “Then find where my daughter has been taken.” Nick’s throat tightened slightly as he nodded, even though Conor couldn’t see him. “Yes, king. Already depl

Olivia’s voice shook. “She’s a child.” “I’m aware.” Another casual breath. “That’s why this is unfortunate.” A beat. Then— “Consider this the price for offending Titan Group.” Silence. The words hung in the car. Conor’s face went completely still. The voice on the phone didn’t stop. If anything, it sounded more entertained now. “You people really don’t learn, do you?” the man said lazily, like he was discussing something trivial. “Debt always gets collected one way or another.” Olivia’s breathing hitched again, shallow and broken. Conor’s jaw tightened so hard it looked like it might crack. On the line, the man chuckled. “And since Madam Olivia here is so… principled,” he continued, “refusing to cooperate, refusing to settle things properly, to sell herself to repay the debt—” A pause. Then, colder. “We’ll simply recover what’s owed in other ways.” Olivia’s voice came out barely audible. “…What are you talking about?” The man exhaled, almost
