Chapter 425 — Unforseen Twist
Only after rolling across the surface of the dueling stage for about twelve meters did Aiden finally come to a halt. A few metres more and he'd end up beyond the boundary of the dueling stage, signifying his defeat. "Ugh.." forcing out a pained groan, Aiden forced himself to stand on his feet, albeit in an unsteady fashion. Currently his uniform was now reduced to torn up dregs, exposing his previously milky white skin that was now scorched black. A couple arcs of f lightning could even be spotted dancing across the upper layer of his scorched flesh. "That's impossible.. you should've been knocked unconscious!' Toby's expression darkened when he saw Aiden rise back to his feet. What he just executed was the second level of a primary rank Hex. In the hands of a Gamma Lord genius hailing from a noble house, it was more than capable of scorching a level three Spirit Beast to death. There was no way a mere Omega Warrior freshman could survive such a direct hit, even while partially d
Chapter 424 — Demonic Tier Talent?
As soon as Aiden activated Lightning Wings, the spectators paying attention to the duel on stage ten all exclaimed in shock. Some of the teachers couldn't contain their shock, causing them to jump up their feet. Although Nightshade Royal Academy didn't lack geniuses or the resources to cater for these geniuses, there was a clear reason why students were split into four departments; freshman, sophomore, junior and senior. Although to advance from one department usually required the period of one year, there was also an assessment test that all students had to undergo if they wished to advance from a freshman to a sophomore and there after. The main prerequisite that a freshman had to attain before becoming a sophomore was either possessing the cultivation of a peak Omega Lord and its alternative, or the ability to have comprehended an Intermediate Hex. However freshman students who were able to comprehend the second level of a Primary rank Hex could also advance into the Sophomore
Chapter 423 — Going Up Against A Junior
"Bout Thirty Nine begins! all combatants should take to their dueling stage!" Noticing his name being displayed as one of the combatants in the thirty ninth round, Aiden calmly made his way towards the dueling stage marked as ten, amidst a mammoth crowd of cheering students. So far, he's participated in six bouts already and came out victorious. Perhaps it was his luck but all of the opponents he's faced so far were either freshmen like himself or average sophomore years students. He was yet to face off against a students from the third and fourth year. However even with all these, Aiden had slowly risen up to become an underdog within the freshmen students as many were now rooting for him. With a winning streak of six bouts, he was one of the few freshman students who had any chance of making it into the final round, considering this slot was mostly monopolized by the older students with a large majority of freshmen already eliminated. Some were even unlucky enough to face off a
Chapter 422 — Let It Begin!
Just like Aiden suspected, with the large amount of Student within Nightshade Academy, it was going to be impossible for the qualifier stage to be completed in the short span of a day. The Academy Authorities knew that too which prompted them to introduce a new dueling system. Each of the Academy Students whether they were Freshmen or Seniors were all split into fifteen groups in accordance ri the fifteen dueling rings within the training field. According to the Instructors, an automated algorithm was incharge of the selecting the dueling partners however there was something set in stone. Every participant in each of the fifteen groups were entitled to a maximum of ten bouts. If they could win all ten of these bouts, they will be considered as qualifying for the second and final round that was going to take place the next day. However there was also an alternative method to qualify apart from winning all ten bouts and that was the points system. During each and every bout, a gr
Chapter 421 — Time Flies
After the announcement of the sudden changes of the Global Exchange Program which was now renamed as the Global Sports Festival, Nightshade Royal Academy descended into a tensed atmosphere. Although the Academy's curriculum remained unchanged, there was an obvious competitive spirit amongst the students. According to the announcement, the Global Sports Festival Qualifier phase was split into three stages.. The first was the initial qualifier stage. Then came the semi qualifier stage and finally the final qualifier stage. Due to the sudden changes, the Global Sports Festival now accepted the participation of secular Cultivators, as such the prolonged stages in the Qualifier phase could more or less be justified.. The initial qualifier stage was perhaps the most easiest to explain. Basically the reputable Academies as well as Secular powerhouses in Fenris City would engage their students or disciples in rounds of duels to determine their worthy candidates. Then came the semi qualifie
Chapter 420 —The Skyfalls
"Blessing of Rushing Blades" gripping the crimson colored longsword, Nero stabbed it towards Rio's right ribcage. With Rio being airborne and Nero rushing towards him at ground level, there was a distance of fourteen feet separating them. Although the longsword was in no way short, there was no way it would be able to reach its target on time. "Heh.." a crafty grin suddenly tugged across the corner of Nero's lips. At that moment, the longsword in his grip suddenly elongated like a crossbow being released, stabbing straight through Rio's stomach. However Nero didn't dare relax in satisfaction as Rio's body' suddenly exploded into a burst of darkish silver flames as a tongue of these flames rolled across the elegonated longsword, latching itself onto Nero's right arm like a leech, instantly burning him till there wasn't even a trace of ash left. "That's Blessing of Purgatory.." a snig remark rang out. Initiating a quick spin, Rio expressed shock to discover Nero hovering in the ai
Chapter 419 — Phoenix King Azaloth
Bang! Bang! Bang! Within what seemed to be an open roof fighting arena, two figures flashed around as they exchanged blows. The sheer force of their movement resulted in a powerful sonic boom to go off. However thanks to the runic matrix inscribed all around the training arena, no serious damage was dealt. "You're faster than the last time we fought.." coming to a halt, Rio wiped off the blood stain on the corner of his lips. The current Rio appeared to be completely shirtless, exposing a well sculptured tanned body. His hair was now a burnt copper in color and was now kissing the lower portion of his shoulder. However the most noticeable feature to be found from this glow up were his two scars. An X-shaped scar across his chest and a vertical scar that ran from above his left eye brow to the left corner of his nose. Not to mention there was a darkish red eye patch covering his left eyes. "Faster? I think not. I've only merely lifted my restraints to a level that you can react
Chapter 418 — Dehlmi Skyfall
"Your guest has arrived.. Lord Commander.." A loud cry announced Augus's presence as he slowly walked into what seemed to be an awfully spacious throne room.Loitering at both sides of the throne room were a series of carefully arranged portraits depicting individuals with beautiful silver colored hair and at the end of the throne room was a towering and dignified throne. Although August had no idea what material that throne was made out of, he could sense a powerful pressure wafting out from it that nearly caused his knees to buckle. Lifting his chin up as he walked towards the throne, he finally took notice of the one seated atop the throne. To his surprise, it was actually a silver haired lady with an endowed physique clad in what seemed to be a literal flower dress made out from vines and flowers. Atop her her head was a crown of plaited roses and riddled across several parts of her body were ornaments of all shapes and sizes. Glittering earrings, nose piercings, finger rings
Chapter 417 — The Star Shatter Arms Cult
Before long, the twelve Summit Leaders found themselves embroiled in a heated argument with the topic of discussion being the potential circumstance that the Crimson Monarch was still alive and a threat to the entire Nightshade Kingdom. A majority of them suggested that they informed the main headquarters of The Sentry Association, however a small minority felt that just the local forces of Nightshade Kingdom would be enough to tackle the looming threat. As for Investigator Wales and Investigator Zeper, they could only silently observe. These Summit Leaders were perhaps one of the most strongest beings in the entire country and yet just the thought of the Crimson Monarch being alive was enough to get them agitated like ants on a frying pot. "Might I say something?" The heated arguments came to an abrupt stop as all eyes fell on Investigator Wales who proceeded to step forward. "Previously you mentioned how the Blood Clones of this Crimson Monarch works. According to you, they
