Time flew by in a flash and soon it was morning. Evan jogged his way to the park by the river to calm himself.

He looked around and noticed how desolated it was.

“This place had been abandoned for as long as I can remember,” he muttered as he took a seat beside the river.

He crossed his legs and sat there with his eyes closed, listening to the calm of the river and the whispers of the wind.

What he was about to do was cultivating. He started this when he was six years old and always does it every morning and along with his great talent his cultivation speed differs from that of his peers.

‘Shut all senses and listen to the energy from the heavens and earth,’’ He thought, then took a deep breath and released it and soon it felt like a soft glow surrounded him.

The trees stopped swaying and the river turned extremely still and quiet. It suddenly felt as though he was isolated from the world and was in his own small world created for him.

He took in deep breaths then sent out his senses. He could feel the warm breath from the earth and the mystical energies from the heavens.

'Is this…’ A frown crossed his face as he felt the energy moving towards his dentain. He quickly focused on the energy and noticed how chaotic it was but thankfully his body was able to withstand it.

“Ah…” He gasped and a gray smoke puffed out from his mouth.

He stood up and took on a horse stance. He stretched forth his hand and tightened his muscles before he sent forth a powerful punch.

A kaboom sound echoed in the park and it felt as though the space torted a little before it went back to how it was.

“My strength has increased,” Evan muttered, then picked a stone the size of a ball and squeezed it.

A crushing sound echoed in the air and sands fell off his hand where the stone once laid before.

“That was good,” He muttered, then looked around.

Eight years ago when he was 16 years old. He was regarded as the top talent in cultivation. Among his peers he was the first to break through the trench hold of the mortal stage towards the first half immortal realm.

He was the hope and light of everyone and became the best candidate to lead the family to great heights. Everything was going well until a tragic incident where his father, the strongest man in the family, mysteriously disappeared with his mother.

Evan had thought things would go well after that, but his uncle used that to his advantage and trapped him in the family's house.

He couldn't cultivate and as such he became ordinary and was surpassed by those who once looked up to him.

He thought his life would end like that, well, not until four years ago when a big fire broke out in the family, was he able to escape.

He was young and never knew the ways of the world and such he got into trouble and was saved by an old man.

“That time. I had lost all hope of living,” He clenched his hands tightly as his cold gaze stared south. The feeling of revenge engulfed him and killing intents roared in his eyes.

“I will get my revenge on those who crunched me when I was nothing.” He muttered then clenched his hands tightly. Sounds of bones cracking filled the air and he pinned his feet on the floor as he channeled his energies to his hand.

His talent was back and he would use this to get more powerful!

Half an hour later he arrived in his room and went straight to freshen up. He walked out of the bathroom with his towel on and frowned when he noticed Claus in the room.

“When did you get here?” He asked and headed straight to the wardrobe.

“Just now. I came to tell you that Vera had arrived at the airport and I am afraid she is furious and sent this to me since you didn't pick her calls,” Claus said nervously then took out his phone and showed him the messages sent.

<SINCE YOU DIDN'T PICK MY CALLS. I'LL MAKE SURE YOU GET INTO TROUBLE TODAY!>

“She even sent them in bold letters. I think she's very angry,” Claus said nervously.

Evan quickly took out his phone from his trousers and gasped when he saw 99+ missed calls.

'Damn it!’ He cursed then turned towards Claus with a calm and collected look.

“Get the car ready,” He said, then wore his clothes.

“William already did that. He is waiting for you right now,” Claus replied and Evan nodded then walked out with him.

Only the both of them knew how naughty and a trouble maker Vera was and that was why they were both weary of her.

“I can't believe I'd go through this hell trial again,” Evan sighed and got inside the car.

William stepped on the accelerator and drove speedingly away. A few minutes later they arrived at the airport and alighted from the car.

Evan looked around in search of Vera when suddenly Claus tugged at him to look ahead. A frown crossed his face when noticed people gathering at a particular spot.

“I hope it isn't what I think it is,” He muttered as he suddenly have a bad premonition and went there quickly.

A red haired girl was gambling with a half-naked man who had lost all his belongings, including his clothes.

The man had stimulated mental sluggishness because he had lost 10 times continuously.

“Damn it! I can't do this anymore. Please I give up! I am sorry that I have to stop hallway,” He apologized and wanted to leave but Vera smirked then held his right hand.

“Ah no sir. You and I made a deal that if you win, I will do a striptease. Isn't that right everyone?” She asked as all the men nodded.

“Come on old man. Just sit there and win already. We know that you are giving her chances to win,” A man yelled.

Vera smirked evilly then sat back to enjoy the show. The man who had only his boxers on stared at Vera with look of doubts then took a deep breath and sat on the floor.

“Come on! I won't give up!” He yelled. He wanted hook her up because of how gorgeous she looked but he never would have thought in his entire life that she would challenge him to a gamble.

And here he was… bathing in disgrace!

Evan's face fell from vibrant to gloom as he watched the scene before him.

“Vera,” He called out coldly and everyone stopped shouting and faced the intruder.

“Who's he?” They thought and frowned when they saw the young lady jump up in surprise and ran towards him.

“You made it. I thought you lost your phone,” She smirked.

Meanwhile Claus stared at the man who had only his boxer on and shook his head in sympathy.

'When I gamble with this she devil here. I lost 5% of my shares. You should be happy you lost a few clothes and still have a pink tight boxer on to save your dignity,’ He thought.

Vera Anderson was on the black list in Santo city and anyone who crossed path with her or even dared gamble with her, either lost their lands or companies.

“What do you think you are doing?”

She cleared her throat and placed the document in front of him. Edward picked in and read through the person's information. At the upper right was a middle-aged man's picture. He was dressed in a white lab coat and had a spectacle on. “Doc Raymond Leonardo,” Edward muttered softly as his finger opened the next page. “Oh?” The corner of his lips raised slightly. His eyes gazed at the information before him in surprise. Looks like he caught a big fish now. He licked his bottom lips gently as he continued reading through the informa
